With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

        Cheers guys, that solves many problems. Bit unconvinced about Hendo's point scoring ability in comparison to Sterling/Coutinho but this is my best option right now

    OK. so we're almost at matchday. i've been finally tweaking this defence for the last three weeks. i still don't know whether to go with two 4.0s and a few sure bets, or whether to spread the love across the line. Here's what I have. What would you do?

      Looks pretty good. I'd probably try and find rotating 4.5s and one heavy hitting defender though. Sun/New Lei/Sot. You want your players to be playing.

        yeah i'm tossing up whether to go rotations or whether to go a few heavy hitters. have been sitting on the fence all week.... who do you suggest for rotations - coloccini/pva and moore/clyne + jones? do you think that will provide more points?

      Yeah you could easily have a week with just your GK starting. You could downgrade Lamela or Sterling to Sigurdsson and use the cash to upgrade a defender or two.

    I'm a bit stuck on the defence - for this, if anyone has ideas for a better 4.5 defender, please tell me.

    Otherwise - what would be a decent 6.0/Debuchy/5.0? Not sure about Luis/Az from Chelsea for GW1.

        Albrighton is still injury risk - but just for GW1 I think, as a bench player I think he'll be back for GW2.

      Looking very good (similar to me :p). Marney over Albrighton (check the hot topics/articles for 4.5m midfielder post). Azpi/Luis is a coin flip really so probably not worth the risk.

    Hardly done a RMT this year as I know how annoying they are, but seen as it's one day before the season kicks off, what the heck!

      looks fairly solid. I do think you could do with a slightly stronger defence though. Maybe find 0.5 to upgrade either wisdom or moore if you can.

        Indeed, that's my only worry, and it's quite a big worry as well. I'll have to downgrade a mid in order to do it, which I'm not sure I want to do!

          Extremelly similiar to my own ecxept we differ on players of the same price.

            Looks good mate, I personally wouldn't have Luis, as he's not nailed on. Him combined with Chambers could mean a hit very early on.

      Decent. Qpr struggled for goals in the championship, so can't see mutch getting too many. Davis a waste on the bench, so maybe mutch to Henderson, davis to 4.5.

        Cardiff only scored 32 last term, but he was involved in a lot of those, fromt he wing I think too.

        Will hopefully prevail in the hole, will just need to monitor De Guzman.

        Not convinced by Henderson for the extra.

      i think the defence is too weak. Chambers, Moore and Hutton are all a bit risky. You could easily end up with a non-playing defender slot one week.

        Chambers will become one of the new transfers in GW3 or maybe even a double up with a Stoke 4.5 when I see how they're lining up and how well they look at the back.

      Do you think a Chambers/Clyne combo will be worth it? Was considering it myself but with the choices I made further up the park (Sturridge, Jovetic etc.) I figured it would be better to go for longer term options than Chambers.

      That 3rd defence spot could be one that causes you a bit of grief, but overall I like your team.

        Yeah Chambers is only a 2-3 week punt until I can weigh up the nailed 4.5s in other teams.

        I've got 0.5ITB too incase he needs to go upto a 5.0 and then gradually shape from there.

    0.5 in the bank for Sterling to Mata or Jovetic to 8.5, depending on which one turns out to be the poorer gamble.

    How I see it...
    *Getting Chambers in for only GW1*
    -Rosenior captained Hull in pre season =Nailed
    -Taking a risk on Isgrove, hes played alot.
    -Bartley also has played alot since chico left.
    -Hutton seems to be the best 4.0
    -Why would chelsea pay 16m for their only natural LB if he wasnt to play.

        not at all convinced that Filipe Luis is going to start to be honest. The general view from pundits on chelsea tv was that mourinho would revert to type with azpi at LB for the first game of the season with brana at RB.

        Brana started against sociedad the other night - and Ake started on the left, indicating to me that the LB spot is still undecided. Only chelsea defender guaranteed to play week in week out is gary cahill.

        And Wisdom's first fixtures are not that difficult. Hutton has a pretty tough number of fixtures, between GW4 and GW8 I think

      I don't like the Chambers just for week 1 strategy. You're probably going to need that transfer to adjust to what happens in the first week, which means that you're essentially taking a hit to get in a defender, which is pretty much always a bad idea, as even if chambers gets a clean sheet, you're only going to be breaking even (at best).

      Agreed on luis. No city or liverpool will likely hurt you, they are the 2 most attacking sides by a distance

      Very nice. Interesting to see if manquillo nails down a place (he should be Gjohnson is crap). I'm not convinced on siggy. Everyone seems to love him on here because he had a few good games 3 years ago. Henderson/snodgrass better options IMO

    Would appreciate if you guys could be so kind as to RMT - losing sleep over this, and have a hangover that would kill a horse so I am beginning to question my judgement.

      I would get rid of debuchy and cahill. I'd go for Luis and Jones and you would still be able to upgrade your midfield..Try to get Mutch. RMT mine too please, just a coouple of post above this one

    Looking for a monster gameweek ONE score to get a step ahead:

    But is it too risky carrying this defence for first 2-3 weeks before I drop either Rambo or Sanchez to improve 2 of the 4.0s? Could go Sanchez > Sterling and add 2 x 5.0 defenders or a Stoke 4.5 and Debuchy?

    are people with Bojan planning on playing him pretty much every week, or are they planning rotation. I think that a 3-way rotation of Siggy, Mutch and Bojan works quite nicely for the final attacking slot. Thoughts?
