With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

      I wouldn't risk 6m on either to be honest. Find the extra for JT or Cahill or go elsewhere.

          far from guaranteed to start. left a similar post below. general consensus on chelsea tv is that luis will be benched. mourinho doesnt like to buy players and put them straight into the team. matic had to wait to get ahead of mikel. mourinho himself said its not fair to other players who have been playing well.

          brana started against sociedad with ake on the left suggesting his mind is not yet made up re: left back

      I'm taking a chance on Azpi. And I have the extra 0.5, but I want to keep it. I've read as much as I can find on this and I think Azpi will start. If he doesn't, I have a sub I'm happy with, tho it may mean an enforced transfer sooner rather than later.

        I also think Azpi will start at Burnley, but once winning Luis to be introduced and then start against Leicester.

        Azpi will share gametime with Ivanovic, who will in turn share with Cahill and Terry.

        The way I read it Azpi and Luis will start with Cahill, Terry and Ivan fighting it out for centre backs. But obv nothing definite, just my reading of various sources.

          Interesting.

          Hasn't Ivanovic played the most minutes preseason?

          My take is same back 4 from last year with Luis to be introduced and various rotations. Terry being slightly more nailed to CB as captain.

            Stuff I've read is that Azpi and Luis are the natural wide defenders and will take those roles. But this is people's suppositions and obv doesn't take into account what Mourinho is seeing every day.

            But basically I don't think we can be sure of any Chelsea Def for GW1.

            yes. although the only one of the back 4 that i would take would be cahill. if ivanovic is being rotated he will most probably come in at CB to replace terry, given terry's age. particularly as the champs league progresses

      Of those I probably would, even just to get rid of one of the QPR players. Ideally Henderson would be a wait and see but PVA + Henderson is the stronger combination for me.

        Yeah i know, but not sure if i can free up funds for Terry/Cahil and not disrupt mid/fwd, also unsure if Luis will start. In for an early WC i guess, with Jovetic as well.

            I had Jones / Chester / Coloccini / PVA / Wisdom before i changed the defence to the current one. Still think united will allow the odd goal with their current injury problems, hell even with everybody fit.

    Bottom of last page,

    are people with Bojan planning on playing him pretty much every week, or are they planning rotation. I think that a 3-way rotation of Siggy, Mutch and Bojan works quite nicely for the final attacking slot. Thoughts?

      I'm not sure I'd trust him every week.

      You could use his good early fixture to assess. Initially, the rotation suggested good be great.

      I think this will be THE season for Bojan. He is confident, will be the centerpiece of the attack and I see him playing most of the season. I expect him to score 10/12 goals and grab a couple of assists. In the meantime, can you please RMT:

      Definitely rotation (with Sig) to begin with - the better of the two could end up playing every week though.

        Cheers. I'm reasonably confident with Chester in there (minus his affection for OGs...) - Tadic and Bojan feel like my biggest punts. I could do Jones to Clyne and Tadic to Eriksen but I feel that, with Tadic on all set pieces and SOT fixtures looking favourable, he could be worth the punt.

      Balanced team. I rekcon Tadic is a beast, but I'm not sure if he will deliver right away. Also, I like your D and I'm sure PVA will be one of the top scoring CB this season.

        Rooney - he'll be captained by a vast majority of people in GW1. If he goes nuts and you don't have him, you could find yourself playing catch up from the start.

      RMT please, i'll do the exact same thing. Any way I can improve this one? I think I can improve my D by giving up on some midfield star.. but at the same time I'm not feeling comfortable with dropping Haz, Ramsey or Mata. Any suggestions?

      Evans and Kosc are injury doubts. So go with debuchy and jones if you want an ars and utd defender. Good mid + attackers but with the way you've set up your going to be forced to play bojan week in week out.

      I think the second option is the best. Young and Mutch can be good differentials, and as long as you have three good strikers, you don't need very good rotations in midfield.

    I am thinking of swapping Davies as I'm not sure who will start. Do you think Jordan Mutch is a better option than Davis. I might swap Dzeko for Jovetic but I do want to try and get Costa into my team if possible. Also do you think it is worth keeping Hazard?

    I want to bring henderson for davies but for dat I have to downgrade sanchez to ramsey.. Is dat a good idea...? If not then whome to downgrade for whome...?? Plz help...

      For me, Ramsey is a must have in midfield. He's in better form and had a full preseason compared to Alexis. I think you should go ahead and downgrade Alexis to Ramsey to free up some cash.

      Sanchez to Ramsey isn't a bad idea,
      Ramsey is on fire still he's gonna have a massive season,

      Sanchez is a risk and im not sure hel'll get the full 90 against palace (Ramsey will almost certainly)

      - but I do expect Sanchez to get some serious points this season. I plan to put him after a few weeks if he looks good.

    I've tried to have a strong midfield. Caulker rotates well with Clyne and Cameron rotates well with Taylor. I put Rooney and Costa up front to complete a strong front line, but decided to take a punt with Bojan. Any comments/advice/criticism is most welcome.

    was only playing 2 up front, but messing with swapping bojan in for siggy in midfield and bringing Marney in

      really not convinced that sanchez is the answer. i'd put hazard or fabregas in there instead, as they finally have someone up front to convert chances. chelsea have a favourable fixture list to start with.

      switch sterling for eriksen and i'd have mutch as the budget option in MF instead of puncheon. Bojan instead of vaz te.

    I know Isgrove is a punt, but if he plays 4.5 could be a steal and if he doesn't his price won't drop due to 0.2% coverage so I can reassess.
