Brief analysis of Austin vs Sakho:
COMPARISON TOOL:
On the surface of it, a H2H comparison suggests that Sakho is the obvious choice with most of the KPI's and overall % in his favour, but on closer inspection most of the KPI's are very close, only narrowly won by Sakho. When one selects only the last 4 matches it becomes a very even contest, and Austin actuals wins 6-3 on the important KPI's.
WHOSCORED STATS:
Austin has had the 5th highest shots per game in the league too (Sakho is narrowly behind him) so its hardly an accident that he's scored as many as he has. Sakho has better overall performance (7.48 to 7.03).
FIXTURES:
Very similar fixtures don't settle who I should choose:
QPR fixtures: new LEI swa BUR
WHM fixtures: eve NEW wba SWA sun eve
SQUAD CONSIDERATIONS:
Normally I don't care about "coverage", but I do try to avoid clashes between FWD-DEF. As such, owning Baines makes it a conflict of interest to transfer Sakho in this GW. I also already own Downing, and am not overly keen on exposing myself to West Ham too much, and having players from different teams allows better fixture-matching/rotation. If injuries happen or form goes south I don't want to be stuck with too many from a team that is normally not reliable. All of which tip the scales Austin's way somewhat in this regard.
PRICE RISES:
Sakho just rose to 5.9 last night and is unlikely to rise again in the next few days. Sakho just blanked so immediate transfer activity might be sluggish as well. As far as I'm aware Austin has been transferred in more often than Sakho today, so going into the International Break has more "momentum" and probably stands a better chance of multiple rises than Sakho. Austin is at 59% on fplstats which is a healthy number close to a rise (around 18,000 buys away apparently), but still allows a day or two to consider the form of your potentially outgoing striker (who in my case is Welbeck).
Unless Welbeck tears it up tomorrow its looking very likely that Welbeck>Austin will be my lone transfer this GW, as I save the 2nd of my 2FT's for the Saints-exodus or Fab/Pelle yellow card issues in GW13.Nice. Maybe i'll just get Austin too and roll over the 2 frees
