With Gameweek 21 done and dusted, we dig deep into the data in our regular Sunday evening article. A trio of in-form midfielders at Arsenal, Man City and Swansea are amongst tonight’s topics, whilst we also assess United’s alarming attack, Burnley’s raiding right-back and the main men for West Brom and Palace as Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew kick-start their respective stints at the helm with a victory.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Anything worth changing? Not bringing in Aguero til after Chelsea. Think I'm gonna keep the faith in Haz captain:

    Forster

    Trippier / Terry / Bertrand

    ADM / Hazard(c) / Fabregas / Sanchez

    Falcao / Kane / Berahino

    Foster / Boyd / Lescott / PvA

Despite the constant preaching of "cover" being a ridiculous term, the scoutpicks and captains poll continue to work on this basis. The assumption is that anyone wanting to vote for Eriksen will just vote for Kane instead.

I thought Eriksen looked poor on MOTD. Thought he gave Palace a goal with his half-hearted attempt at a tackle and generally looked uninterested.

But on past performance you might expect him to be in the sheep poll.

If you think those two teams will be highest scoring/best value then I don't see a problem with doubling up on both.

Trebling on two defences seems daft as you are going to be benching two of them every week.

If I wildcard now I can get:
    Foster/Myhill
    Skrtel, Terry, Bertrand, Cresswell, Duff
Fab & Haz, Silva, Sanchez, Marney
    Austin. Aguero, Kane
    0.1itb

    Changes are:
    Costa > Aguero
    Downing > Hazard
    STaylor > Duff
    Guzan > Myhill

    Marney clearly a season keeper!

I am struggling a bit with the my WC defence.

I am certain of the template CHE | SOT.

However, torn between the following rotations:

    a) SUN | BRN | AVL
    b) WBA | STK | LEI

I think that WBA is a better prospect for cleanies, but I like the theoretical attacking prospects of a van Aanholt | Trippier | Hutton rotation; and I could always go with WBA | STK in goal.

    Thoughts?

      I'm currently on B, cheaper too, can't afford A.
If you like A, don't bother with Stoke, just put Foster in goal.

Yes, you're probably right re: Foster.

The other option with A is to take Duff over Trippier; I am not sure if he has permanently lost his place though.

I have enough funds to do Austin > Aguero in one transfer

Shall I do this or use the transfer to sort out my defence?

    Guzan
    Hutton, Clyne, Ivan, Bartley, Caulker
    Haz, Sanchez, Downing, Silva, Boyd
    Kane, Costa, Austin

Bartley and Caulker need to go really..

    A: Fab + Austin

    B: Siggy + Costa

WC active! First draft, anything people would change?

    Foster/Myhill
    Terry/Bertrand/PVA/Trippier/Wisdom
    Sanchez/Hazard/Fabregas/ADM/Boyd
    Aguero/Austin/Kane

0.4 ITB. Pretty set on midfield and attack, unsure about defence.

      I would have Costa.

Just bloody ditched him! I do really want to keep him, but it destroys the rest of my team, and I'm also not keen on ditching Austin or Kane.

That's my thinking too, Austin is such good value, as is Kane. But can you really see Austin performing with QPR's upcoming fixtures?

If you have decided on Fabregas over Costa then all good

      Almost like my wc draft.

Only differences are foster / myhill to heaton / pants. And trippier to wasilewski.

So i like what i see.

I did exactly the same. Took Costa out to bring in hazard.

Quite amusing how everyone stocking up on West Brom defence on the back of clean sheets against a non league team and a strikerless Hull. I'm hoping Baines derails the bandwagon 😉

    Good day everybody 🙂

Normally not a friend of fixing a defense with a WC but currently freefalling.

Heaton/Gilks: ok i guess but not ideal
    Azpi: injury/rotation doubt
Zaba: rotation doubt and currently zero returns
Baines: OK he got a couple of assists but still does not justify the price imo
Hutton: horrid fixtures coming up, Villa not good atm
    Dummett: no comment

I think a WC is on the cards. Excuse the pun. Team is linked. Whaddaya think?

    Thanks guys

Baines a good pick this week
Zaba and Dummet not bad enough to wc for

thanks, actually just saw that saving trsf is even better, can then get in a couple of punts with 2 FT for GW 23 and right after that use the WC

Taking that RvP won't play the next game and that Rooney will play in the midfield, should I get rid of finding form Falcao or get punty.

No, but that's why you should use all of the resources available to you.

In my opinion, best bet is:

          1. Look at who has decent fixtures in the next 3.
          2. Look at who has been performing well from those teams - just the player stats section, order by goal threat etc. over last 4 gameweeks.
          3. Look at who does not have decent fixtures in the next 3 (from your team).
          4. Look at who has NOT been performing well from those teams - just the player stats section, order by goal threat etc. over last 4 gameweeks.
          5. Transfer bad player --> good player.

          SIMPLES.

Tools like RMT are useful for identifying players you perhaps hadn't considered and also identifying players that you might be benching more than you had envisaged etc.
