I am on a WC Guys. Please tell me if any improvements can be made. Ta.
    De Gea (Myhill)
    Janmaat/Terry/Bertrand (Hutton/Bruce)
    Hazard/Chadli/Sanchez/Tadic/Erikson
    Aguero/Bojan(Kane)

I'm thinking maybe Ings/Berahino/Austin or am I right to stick with Harry Kane?

Not too much wrong with that and I would stick with Kane, or Ings short term.

How about Hazard Out --> In Albrighton (COS 4.2)
      Then Bojan Out --> Costa
So What'd you think? Stay With Hazard And Hope He Explodes?
I captained him today and was so pissed when he didn't partake in any of chelsea's 5 goals! 🙁

    A Wilson
    B Chester
    C Dummet
    E Bellerin
F Baird but would be doubling up on WBA defence

      Yes, of course.

Last 4 Chelsea v City PL games at Stamford Bridge: 3 Chelsea wins 1 draw. City have scored a total of 2 goals in those 4 games.

This season: 10 PL games at Stamford Bridge, 3 goals conceded.

The tougher the game, the better Chelsea defend usually. A Chelsea clean sheet is very possible, according to the bookies it's around a 40% likelihood.

Hard to say, I think if a player like RVP was priced at 11.2 and had scored that many goals already you'd be crucified if you claimed he wasn't essential.

But I'm not sure, seems people are refusing to accept Costa is going to do very well like Yaya or Rambo last season.

No matter what, 3 strong Chelsea picks will see you do well.

Surely you're better off going for Ivanovic over Costa? Over 22 games they're on almost the same number of points, yet Ivanovic is £4.1m cheaper.

So many people were considering getting rid of Costa until today, it just happened to be this week he scored highly. Over 22 games he's averaged roughly the same number of points as a player who is much cheaper. If you'd captained Ivan all the way or Costa all the way you wouldn't be much better or worse off. If Aguero returns to the form he was on before injury, having him and Costa could cause a real headache, whereas if you go with Ivan you have an additional £4.1m to play with (assuming you have to transfer Costa in).

        1. Snikii
          • 11 Years

this game is not about doing the same every week. Fabregas has scored 8 points more than Ivanovic, why dont you get him instead of fabregas then and he is 2.6 mil cheeper?

terry is also really close, maybe we should go terry ivan and haz becuase they are the highest scoring chelsea players.... flaud logic

            1. Farcelona
              • 11 Years
              11 years, 2 months ago

I disagree. There are a lack of premium defenders, and when they score just as many points as the best forwards whilst being cheaper then when wouldn't you get them? Better value is available in cheaper midfielders/forwards.

              1. Farcelona
                • 11 Years
                11 years, 2 months ago

My point basically boils down to: Ivanovic, Fabregas, Hazard and arguably Terry have all been better value so far, and are all cheaper.

I understand that Costa may end up being the highest scoring, although he has such high ownership that his price will not rise easily, so if he turns out to be the best option you are unlikely to have to pay any more than his current price to transfer him in.

The ultimate value comes from having captaincy options. Ivan is not one

Hazard/Fabregas are, and one of them is likely to be involved in any Costa goals.

Apart from aguero, there are no other strikers that offer his level of consistency

If there were lots of striking alternatives then yes overlook him and use the spot on Ivan, but there aren't

                    1. Farcelona
                      • 11 Years
                      11 years, 2 months ago

This is the problem. Costa is sort of overpriced but for lack of a better option he is often worth it, especially with the captaincy. However, it is possible to get decent value from Kane, Berahino, etc.

This year midfielders are the highest scoring players, so you need to focus on them, which usually means having Hazard, Sanchez and Fabregas. You then pretty much have to pick between Costa and a Chelsea defender, the argument for Costa being the captain's armband and value for the defender.

It's such a hassle and for now I'm probably going with defenders for the differential option and the fact that Costa is unlikely to rise in price.

Is it though? Budget strikers you will need to chop and change much more regularly.

to have a consistent player you don't need to change is another perk

                        Good luck without though

This is true, although if you play a 3-5-2 then you only have to play one every week and can rotate. It'll probably end up costing a couple of transfers by the end of the season though.

I think I'm mainly going without Costa as a from of differential, as my mini-league leader isn't far in front and will probably keep him.

Ivanovic has played nearly 400 minutes more than him though.

right, he missed 3 matches. that could have been three 10 pointers

Could also have been three 2 pointers.

Lol at everyone slagging off Ivan in the watch list over Terry but now talking like he is essential 😆

Don't take much notice of SP's anymore. Preferred the old way. But yeah if they were also having a pop

Ivanovic is one of my best players... Had him for ages, seems to be under the radar.

Think he's scored nearly the same as Costa?

Benched him 🙁 should have benched Austin

Chelsea are more likely to keep a cleansheet than Austin is to score a goal

Yeah it was a bad gamble. Guess I was worried about a huge score from Austin

    Costa...

    A moment to realise that,

Most premier league strikers will score if the ball is passed to them so they are 1v1 on goal.

    Hazards turn next week.

right but looking at Costa over the last 5 GWs he is back to his start of season form which is scary.

        Hmm.

Not arsed, can't get him back, if he goes mental, my seasons over. If not, then I'll climb. We'll see.

Having both Aguero and Costa is very expensive so it is tough. Good to finally have some dilemnas

    Would you rather:

    A. Hazard, Wasil + 0.3 (Have Fab & Costa)

    B. Silva & Clyne (Have Bert)

    Thanks 🙂

What a GW! So many interesting things happened and new players hitting form. Elia, Puncheon, Oscar, Gayle... even Eriksen has got me thinking again. Also looks like I may reconsider taking Costa out my team.

Looking forward to reading the articles and posts to come
