Granville and I raise out bats to the grandstand as the 150 comes up for the ScoutCast. Fittingly, we choose to spend the milestone episode moaning about Diego Costa, for very different reasons.

Chelsea’s “agro magnet†dominates discussion on the eve of an expected three-match ban that will end my love affair with the grizzled goal-getter. Meanwhile, Granville is left smarting from Costa’s 16-point Gameweek 22 haul as he does his best to make light of the 59-point chasm that now separates our teams.

Elsewhere, we glide through the ScoutCast regulars, whilst taking time out to lament Kevin Mirallas and his latest bout of Baines-bullying that robbed us both of belated returns.

              Individual cases should be judged as such. Costa has been treading on thin ice all season. With media as it is he was always going to be under extra scrutiny. He should have adjusted his behaviour accordingly. He broke the rules. If it had been suarez last season or rooney this there would have been calls for much more.

          The rules are if the ref says he saw it and dealt with it, no further actions will be made. This is to not undermine the ref's decisions. So if Kevin Friend saw Costas stamp, deemed it unintentional, no further charge would be made.

          So yes, Sterling got away after incompetence from the lino, and Mangala was a bit lucky only getting yellow. But thats how it is.

          2) No, because the ref is supposed to red card them, but he didn't. (how that warrants a 3 match ban is another matter entirely...petty things like that should be 1 match imo)

          4) The ref obviously didn't see the full extent of it. Everyone makes mistakes (although there have been a LOT this season)

          If there's anything this season that constitutes the definition of violent conduct then it's what Costa did the other night.

            Agreed re: Sterling. Dont understand how/when only touching another players face became "violent conduct" and auto 3 game ban. Still, if the refs were to be consistent he shouldve been off

                Your point seemed to be FA bias, which in Sterling and Mangala's (Fernandinho too maybe? Didnt he get a yellow?) cases is not right. The FA have rules, and cant break these every time a ref makes a mistake and issues a yellow instead of red. When a blatant stamp goes unnoticed though, they almost have to do something.

                Not to fully defend FA of course. They have over the last years proved incompetence, not only inconsistency, in the way they treat cases of violent conduct.

              Yeah there's no 'punishment befitting of the crime' at all. Although I am aware that altering this opens a can of worms, but I don't see anything wrong with separating actual violent conduct from unsporting conduct for lack of a better name.

    On selling Sanchez, irrespective of length of injury:

    I think that with all of Arsene's midfield options returning to the fold, Sanchez won't have to put the team on his back..will still be good but could easily produce less that translates to FPL..

    Look at early season when he was doing nothing..yeah part of that was adapting to the team and league but it was also alongside a mostly fit midfield (and actually no Wally even) that didn't need him to save them.

    On top of that I think (and any number of players can fit this) that Sanchez + player A + player B will give fewer points than Wally/Caz + player C + player D..Sanchez's points aren't worth more or are special simply because he got them.

    Opportunity cost!

      Don't like Cazorla option now when Özil is back. Too much rotation threat and he maybe be pushed wide.

      Need to see some form first from if Wally to get him.

      If Sanchez is out more than 2 gws I ll take a punt with Walcott.

            I will wild card next week, so it is easy for me. BUT, he has been working the hardest for three months now - something was bound to go. Eventually. I am not sure that Arsenal can manage it correctly.

    Cazorla is sure for central role for now, Ozil didn't even play there in FA cup where cazorla was rested. He was on wings and Rosicky played central along with Ramsey.
