In his Thursday lunchtime press conference, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will miss Saturday’s trip to Tottenham with the hamstring injury that forced him out of last weekend’s win over Aston Villa.

Discussing the injury situation, the Gunners boss admitted the Chilean could be in contention for the plum home clash against Leicester, however – which takes place just three days after their trip to White Hart Lane:

“The latest is that Alexis is not ready. He is not far away, the Leicester game is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet! He is training but it’s light training.”

Sanchez has tumbled 0.2 in price in the FPL game this week and now sits at 11.3 – given that winter wildcards are still in play, today’s news will spark a further exodus. With Santi Cazorla in such fine form and with both Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott bagging a goal apiece against Paul Lambert’s side, there are no shortage of options available for Fantasy managers to consider in Wenger’s midfield right now.

The Arsenal boss also confirmed that Danny Welbeck is available for selection and with the schedule picking up pace, he clearly doesn’t have to rush his star player back into action. If Sanchez is fit for midweek, though, those who choose to sell face an uncomfortable Tuesday evening’s viewing if his manager choose to unleash him against the league’s third worst defence – his last seven appearances at the Emirates have garnered 78 points, with returns of 13, 16, 2, 9, 9, 10 and 19 points.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Despite it being considered a high scoring game, the last 4 North London Derbies have had 2 or fewer total goals scored in...

I posted a bit back that of the last 6 NLD's at WHL the record is thus:

      Tottenham: 3 wins
      Draw: 2
      Arsenal: 1 win

Nothing to say that we're all frantically trying to shore up Arsenal attacking options when we should be looking at Tottenham players.

oh Sanchez, that's disappointing. 10.3 purchase price. Chances for Leics at home, + fixtures still fine after that. just seems a waste of a transfer if i'm to get him back.

Fair play to whoever posted the original news from an 'arsenal insider' that he'd be out for c3weeks...looks like that was pretty accurate

Not Wenger's fault. Sanchez is the type of player that asks to be played everyweek! And when you have such a player performing as well week in week out, you have to keep playing him!

      1. Your Mum's Athletic
        • 14 Years

it is his fault, he's the manager, just because he wants to play doesn't mean he should. Wenger should have learnt from his previous mistakes but no he's arrogant

But looking at your team, you have Bert suspended, Theo could be dropped, you have 4 players with impending blanks, and then there is form, injuries and suspensions.

If you have to take hits in the future because you don't have FT's, it's because of the Sanchez move. Unless you are carrying over unused 2 FT's or never taking hits, FT's are worth 4 points.

I have a million in the bank thankfully - got him at 10.3

Sanchez to Silva this week - check the Arsenal team sheet for Leics and pick who you fancy from their starters, which may not include Sanchez. As I've said in an earlier post its a lot of money to be uncertain about and we are post WCs now (or a lot of us are). Bellerin and later Giroud as a pick saves a lot of hassle of picking which mid comes off or even starts...

Regarding Sanchez news and my right decision to sell. There was one gravless dude who posted that early news is that Alexis is close to 4 weeks out with a hamstring injury. And that was before nothing was official. I've noticed in the past when a gravless dude posts here with certainty (he was sure), more often that comes true. Like the Rooney news last time. Gravless duds aren't part of the community and don't need to troll, they just want to contribute. This always happens.

Sterling. Cout doesn't know to shoot. Simple as that. Stats are useless while speaking about Coutinho

Except he literally just scored vs Bolton and it was a hell of a goal.

Both were fairly in the middle of the goal that a decent keeper would most likely have stopped, mind.

I only have Cazorla for Arsenal at the moment after - also have Fabregas. The temptation for me is to sell Fab for Ozil / Walcott but Silva is mighty tempting at home to Hull. Just a shame they have Stoke away after, a ground where they always struggle.

Who should I go for as my Fab replacement:

    A. Silva
    B. Walcott.
    C. Ozil

    Bertrand to Phil Jones ok?

5.7 to spend. Cant see anyone better. United have decent fixtures.

    Panti Gilks
    Clyne Terry Wisdom Hutton

Already have 3 Arsenal. Zouma is a bit of a risk and I dont want PVA cos I have Panti.

My rival also has Jones. Funny when I block his points. Thoughts?

Will you be getting Sanchez straight back when he returns? If so, ACB. If not, CBA. Walcott is short-term, he'll be favourite to drop out when Sanchez is back, but I think he could explode and outscore the other 2 over the next couple of games.

Oscar (his form and the next 3 fixtures are superb)
Santi (form, fixtures and pens. Sanchez out enhances his appeal)
      Sterling (tough fixtures)
      Walcott (will get eased in)

I went for Cazorla as a replacement for Sanchez

With Yaya and bony returning, Silva could move out to the left and be less involved with City's goals. Also not sure if Walcott will be 100% nailed on, he will be for this week but when Sanchez returns maybe not anymore. Liverpool's fixtures are too hard imo, so Sterling isn't an option for me.

    Pantilimon (Jakupovic)
    Cahill - Gardos - Wollscheid (N.Taylor, Haidara)
    Hazard - Sanchez - Walcott - Mane - (Boyd)
    Aguero - Giroud (Gayle)

    Current team, 1FT 0.6mill spare.

Want rid of Gardos and Mane, poor choices, want Cuadrado!

Willing to lose as many points as needed. What to change? Thanks.

I'm hoping everyone with Sanchez suddenly makes a desperate move for Cazorla, pumping his price up another 0.1. Then I'll be able to afford Walcott on my Wildcard by Saturday 🙂

Yep, instead of flukey Cazorla. Did you see that penalty against Villa? Lucky little...

Then again, I could get Walcott AND Cazorla, but would involve losing David Silva...
