With bragging rights over Paddy at stake, we’ve backed the Tigers’ latest recruit, Villa’s struggling striker and Arsenal’s form playmaker to bring home the bacon.

Hull City’s home tie against Queens Park Rangers has us eyeing up the Tigers’ new striker Dame N’Doye. The Senegalese international notched a goal and an assist on his debut last week and will fancy his chances against an R’s rearquard that’s only mustered two shut-outs in their previous 10 outings. Meanwhile, Steve Bruce’s men have recorded two clean sheets in their last three home clashes, so we’ll happily take up Paddy’s 9/2 offer on N’Ddoye to score and Hull to keep a clean sheet against QPR to the tune of £3.

For our second bet, we’re putting faith in Tim Sherwood to kick start Christian Benteke’s season as Aston Villa play host to an injury-ridden Stoke City side that’s fallen to consecutive 4-1 defeats. Despite not scoring in the Villans’ 2-1 FA Cup win over Leicester City, the imposing Belgian striker was a thorn in their side, fashioning as many shots at goal (ten) as the entire Foxes outfit. As such, we see Paddy Power’s 5/1 offer on Benteke to score and Aston Villa to keep a clean sheet as worthy of a £4 investment and make this our bet of the week.

We’ve reserved our final wager for the weekend’s first London derby, as Crystal Palace welcome Arsenal to Selhurst Park. Gunners playmaker Mesut Ozil is at the forefront of our minds for this encounter, having tallied two goals and three assists since his return from injury. Considering Arsenal have registered shut-outs in three of their last five, and Paddy are offering 13/2 on Mesut Ozil to score and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet against Palace, we’re more than willing to part with our remaining £3.

    Those odds look a bit light. Even with a 50% chance of a clean sheet, that would leave the scoring odds at 2.75, 3.0 and 3.75 respectively.

    What are people's thoughts on the price rise / falls this season?

    Has it levelled the playing field and took away an advantage we would normally have at this time of the season.

    Personally I would like the powers at FPL revert back to the old formula, not only as it rewards regular users but at the very least we could understand it.

        I think that has more to do with budget players ( Kane, Austin, ings) out performing premium players (rvp, falcao, Rooney, sturridge) therefore there is pleanty money going around

      this season u are playing for points..not for value which should be the objective of the game. It allows you to plan longer term and wait on transfers instead of rushing to get players that are rising.

      an example might be ozil, if he is rising 0.3m weekly many will just be forced to get him instead of executing a plan that they have originally planned for.

    Any word on Toby? If its likely he'll play for GW27 will bring him in this week and bench. Too risky? Need him to play to get 11 but by far the best option of the cheapish defenders for 27 and beyond
