With 14 goals and three assists in the opening 15 Gameweeks, Sergio Aguero looked a near-essential component of our three-man frontlines until injury struck against Everton in early December. After missing five league fixtures, the City talisman’s return was eagerly anticipated by Fantasy managers but it’s fair to day that so far, Aguero’s recent displays haven’t quite been on a par with his early season endeavours.

Three goals and four assists in eight Gameweeks equate to a reasonable average of 4.875 points since recovering from a knee injury but this fares poorly against his returns from Gameweek 1-15, where he delivered seven points per appearance before he was sidelined through injury. With this in mind, we delve into the data to compare Aguero’s recent stats against his earlier displays and also analyse his efforts against other forwards from Gameweek 21 onwards.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

It 100% depends on Costa's YC situation. Need to start acting now though imo as you can have 6 DGW players in your side for the week ahead, 3 CHE, 3 which miss GW33 and then if you can get 2 FT's for 34 a -4 gives you 9 doubles (10 if you have a GK) which seems pretty good to me.

If you have a WC you then WC your side into the best for the last 4 weeks.

My thoughts entirely but don't take DGW's at the expense of retrieving nailed on players such as Silva which you will have to tfr back.

Had a chat yesterday i thin about this.

WC holders main advantage is that for the next few week they can make ,normal'transfers plus will have a good GW 33 team.

Non wc holders will over the next few weeks have the blank and double in mind when making transfers, will have a poor gw 33 team

GW 34 for non wc holders is still pretty easy to get 8/9 double gw players

      1. Eze Really?

Agreed. The plot will thicken if Arsenal and Liverpool don't get DGW's 34.

100% after, as long as your transfers are focussed toward the DGW you'll get a decent amount without WCding. The Wildcard helps you not need to take points hits to get rid of some of them.

        Gw 33 with
        3 chelsea
        2 benches ARS
        1 benched Lpool (if there)
        2fts

        = 8 double players

a 4 point hit and playing around with 2nd keeper makes it more

Not for me but I guess it depends on the current makeup of your team.

I will continue normally until until GW 34 and will have a very good team in GW33.

In GW34 I will wildcard and will have 11 DGW players in my team that week assuming that's when Liverpool-Sunderland play.

There will be no rush to remove players afterwards; most or all of my DGW players will have good fixtures in GW 35. I'll probably remove Austin in GW35, a Liverpool player in GW36 and an Arsenal player in GW37. No hits will be needed.

Nothing can be finalised until the Arsenal-Sunderland game is rescheduled, the Liverpool replay is played and Liverpool-Hull rescheduled of course. But hopefully there will be 6 teams blanking in GW33 and 8 with DGW in 34 - that's probably the best scenario for wildcarders.

    DGW 34

I was thinking about scenarios. What plan sounds better?

A - 7 players (Bellerin, Ivanovic, Terry, Sanchez, OZIL, Hazard, Austin)
B- 8 players (Bellerin, Ivanovic, Terry, Sanchez, CAZORLA, Hazard, Austin, GREEN)
C - 8 players and -4 (Bellerin, Ivanovic, Terry, Sanchez, OZIL, Hazard, Austin, GREEN)
D - 8 players and -4 (Bellerin, AZPILICUETA, Terry, Sanchez, OZIL, Hazard, Austin, GREEN)
in other words : is it worth having Ozil over Cazorla with -4
and If is it worth 8 players than 7

Morning fellas, whatcha reckon looks best here?

    A) Save transfer
    B) Haidara -> Zouma
    C) Clichy -> Terry

If I knew my 3 starting defenders would start this week I think A is an easy call, but with Haidara injured, Bertrand having a tough fixture and all 3 of my starters at risk, I'm a little uneasy.

Still have the WC so not fussed about post GW33 (i.e. for the DGW). Would likely bench PVA this week if doing B or C.

    Foster
    Clichy, Bellerin, PVA
    Hazard, Sanchez, Silva, Santi, Eriksen
    Aguero, Kane

    Myhill, Bertrand, Haidara, Ayoze
    Bank 1.3m, 1FT, 1WC

What is making everyone think all the DGWs are going to be GW34?

This could really bite if it's 35/36.
Or, am I missing the obvious?

    1. Pasqualinho
      • 16 Years
      10 years, 9 months ago

It pretty much has to be 34 or 37 because European ties are scheduled for 35 and 36 and the season must end on the same day. But 34 is the one most experts are going for - but only because its the first opportunity.

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 10 Years
        10 years, 9 months ago

Not only that. Re-scheduling games in GW37 is dangerous because it leaves no room for unforeseen postponements due to weather or other eventualities. The last midweek slot is usually kept in reserve for that reason, otherwise there's a slight risk of teams having to play Saturday-Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday in the last 8 days of the season.

I'd say that Arsenal-Sunderland will almost certainly be GW 34. Liverpool-Hull could be GW37 (if Liverpool win the FA Cup replay) but GW34 is more likely for that game too.

BAIRD does not play, YUN has little chance for points

Who to play this week? Got Ivan and Lescott already, so 1 from 3.

      A) PVA (AVL)
      B) Naughton (liv)
      C) Bertrand (che)

      I'm currently on A.

PVA not nailed on, Liverpool are on a role at the minute and Chelsea will probably score at the bridge.. :/ tough one!

Personally, I'd go for Panti, Ivan, Lescott, Naughton (hate doubling up on defence)

        Hi lads,

My defense is Ivan Clyne Fonte Baird PVA. I have 1FT and 0,1ITB. My options are:

        A) Play PVA and Baird and hope they start and put Fonte and Clyne on the bench (they play away at Stamford Bridge and save the transfer
        B) 1 transfer Clyne to Bellerin and bench Fonte and Baird and hope PVA to play
        C) 1 transfer Clyne to Dawson and bench Fonte and Baird and hope PVA to play

        Thanks,
        Comments are appreciated and welcomed

I'd do A as you want Fonte and Clyne for the following fixtures.

I need cash for Costa... I am not sure double up SoT is the key. I want Arsenal defender or Liv defender soon. They will bring me 1pt the most. Why save it?

Between A and B for me. Bellerin could be good for the DGW - if he keeps his spot

Yeah its a long term investment but he has a blank in GW 33. That scaries me a little bit

You need to plan on benching three players - and not fielding 11 is not that big of a deal provided you have three Chelsea + 1-2 ManC + Kane. A vacant defender spot probably only loses you 1 or 2 points

apart from Liverpool in GW36, Chelsea's fixtures post DGW are decent. You could easily leave them in your team, no?

And has a DGW in 34 when Sinclair doesn't.

Sinclair won't have a DGW. He is on loan so won't be able to play against City. That means he has a blank followed by only one game.

Don't understand why people say they will use their WC after gw 34 tbh. I can live with having 3 chelsea, 3 liverpool and 3 arsenal players in my team and save for a week then do 2-3 transfers the following week to get Aguero/Silva for example

Leicester, Villa and Sunderland have generally good fixtures till the end of season considering they will be cheaper players that can be benched for the odd game. No need to remove any of them as long as you only have 1 outfield player from each.

For QPR we are really only talking about Austin and he's the only one that would need removing in GW35. But a wildcarder could also make a good DGW team without him.

          De Gea
          Jones Smalling Rojo Shaw

I only put Jones at RB because I have no idea of LVG's opinion on Rafael.

Expect Young to be fine, if not Januzaj will play.

Guys I am almost set to do Aguero > Costa in GW30 if no YC this weekend.

        1. It's a differential - good for chasers
        2. Costa has 11 games to Aguero's 10, 2 points + 10% more minutes + BAPS.
        3. Frees up 2m for Haz Sanchez Silva Ozil Sturridge Ivan Clyne essentials.
        4. better fixtures after GW30.
        5. Costa is main striker. Aguero now shares with Dzeko/Bony it's completely changed from his explosive November setup.
        6. Fantastic DGW34 captaincy option.

        Please dissuade me.

4 more games to get 2 YC before amnesty. My transfer is likely 2 games in, i.e. after GW30. I'll monitor.
