Nikica Jelavic faces a spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery. West Brom have worries over their front two for the trip to City. QPR have concerns in defence ahead of Everton’s visit. Eljero Elia is available for Southampton’s home clash with Burnley, whilst Jason Puncheon and Wilfried Zaha are both still doubtful as Palace pay visit to Stoke.

Hull’s hopes for survival have been rocked with confirmation that Nikica Jelavic faces a minimum of six weeks on the sidelines after successfully undergoing knee surgery. Steve Bruce has also revealed that Liam Rosenior, James Chester, Mo Diame and Robbie Brady returned to training yesterday but the weekend clash against Chelsea is likely to come too soon.

Garry Monk welcomes back Federico Fernandez for the trip to Villa, with the Argentine returning to the squad after missing out against Liverpool for family reasons.

Villa, meanwhile, remain without Ron Vlaar due to a calf problem, with Tim Sherwood confirming there is no change to the injury situation following last week’s victory.

Crystal Palace remain without Marouane Chamakh for the trip to Stoke, with the Moroccan struggling to overcome a hamstring injury. Alan Pardew is also sweating on the status of Jason Puncheon and Wilfried Zaha, after both were forced off with knocks in the win over QPR. The pair faces late fitness tests, with Pardew confirming that they would be back in time for Gameweek 31, if not on Saturday.

Chris Ramsey has revealed that Mauricio Isla (knee) will be assessed ahead of the weekend visit of Everton, while youngster Darnell Furlong remains a doubt with a calf injury. Meanwhile, Ramsey remains hopeful that Rio Ferdinand will be fit to return to the squad against the Toffees.

Nigel Pearson will again be without the services of Dean Hammond who is battling a calf injury, while Anthony Knockaert remains unavailable for selection due to personal reasons. Kasper Schmeichel is “under consideration” for a start between the sticks, after stepping up his fitness with an outing for the U21’s earlier this week.

Eljero Elia is fit to return to the squad at the weekend after overcoming an ankle problem, with Ronald Koeman confirming that the Saints have no fresh injury concerns.

Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky could be set to return for the trip to Newcastle after missing last weekend through illness. Elsewhere, Arsene Wenger concedes that long-term injury absentees Mathieu Debuchy and Mikel Arteta are still at least three weeks away from a return to action.

West Brom have doubts over front two Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye for the trip to City, whilst Jonas Olsson is also a worry due to calf and ankle problems.

John Carver faces a defender crisis as Newcastle square up against Arsenal, after confirming that Massadio Haidara remains sidelined for the weekend. The Newcastle boss also revealed that resources are stretched, with only 13 fit senior player and two goalkeepers available for selection this weekend.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Need a super cheap Defender for £4.2!?:

    A)Yun
    B)Alcaraz
    C)Amat

Currently have PVA + Panti - need to shift PVA but have no £ ITB..hence £4.2 budget..

Yun is the only nailed on player there, so get him I guess. I assume this is a player to sit on the end of your bench?

Most weeks yes that player will be on the bench...but this week my team is currently:

        Panti
Kosc/Bertrand/ (Dawson, PVA or Robertson!) sooo shiddy..
        Hazard/Silva/Mane/Sanchez
        Kun/Giroud/Kane

So PVA out for a £4.2m defender... thinking Yun coz of better play time but Upson would be fun to have..

After this week i should be ok - oh i dunno what to do... 🙁

I wouldn't be surprised if they went for it and scored 3 or 4 - that's why Aguero's tempting me. Then again, it is a Pulis team.

    Dilemma: I have 2FT's

3x ARS: Bellerin, Sanchez & Cazorla

I want Giroud, but have to swap out 1x ARS to do it. Austin has a DGW next game week, so should I just hold?

    Pants/Krul
    Terry Bellerin Verthongen Dawson Naughton
    Sanchez Cazorla Hazard Eriksen Cork
    Aguero Kane Austin

    Thanks

Thanks, but not totally sold on Yaya.....

Vert + Austin to Alder + Giroud. But I fancy Spuds for a cleanie.

If you have Austin might as well hold for DGW.

If you want to ease Giroud into your squad, maybe use one of your FT to transfer out Bellerin to facilitate this in the future. You don't own a Soton defender so maybe Bells > Alder is good move.

Always a solid position to be in with 2FT luxury transfer

Thanks guys. Alas £0.1 away from Bell to Alder to allow Austin to Giroud.

Bell > Naughton then if you really want Giroud.

I would just keep Austin and use 1FT on a defender personally.

What do we rate Aguero's chances of starting this weekend?

Away at Barca on a Wednesday night, then home fixture at 12.45 on the Saturday - Bony and Dzeko waiting in the wings.

I think there's a real chance he will be on the bench.

South have like 2 goals in their last 7 games. And that includes games vs CPAL and QPR.

Are we not getting carried away here? For all we know Pele plays again.

I know, but they do create loads of chances. Not sure Koeman will change the team after the performance at the Bridge, at least I hope not. Just gonna have some fun at this point, got no time for FF anymore so might as well gamble.

Mane has been performing though. Involved in around 60% of their goals this year. Goal and assist in the last two. Southampton performing better than they were. Possibly a little carried away, but he's a fun pick, Southampton have great fixtures and he's key in their attacking line up, whether on the wing or no10.

Wisdom > Alderweireld and save FT?

Or any better ideas with 2FT & 0.8m ITB?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Panti

    Bellerin // Clyne // Wolly

    Hazard // Sanchez // Silva // Eriksen

    Aguero // Kane // Austin

    4m - Puncheon - Dawson - Wisdom

What's the worst/best transfer you've been talked out of on here?

Mine was Henderson. I researched him, wrote a long piece about how he was going in my wildcard team last month and was well primed to go big over next few weeks. I was absolutely slated for it on here and so wussed out and went Moses (who I've then benched for the two weeks he did well).

Do what you think is best. This site has helped me a lot over the last 2 years but nobody has a crystal ball, it's all just guesswork really

Being told week after week last season that Yaya and Ramsey were flash in the pans was amusing although I get told to ditch Sanchez and it seems they are right so far, we will see.

Best was to be convinced into was probably Baines a couple of seasons ago, scored something like 4 goals in the following 6 weeks.

Got talked out of Ramsey day before last season started, can't remember who I went for instead but didn't work out, wildcarded in week 2 or 3. Thankfully managed to avoid the Boselli bandwagon a few years ago.

In last 8-9 months, I have a good idea what everyone here will support and when everyone will jump on you. So I avoid posting my crazy transfers 😛
But, tbf freaks like Doos, Ruth, FG have helped me pick 5-6 players(Cazorla, Terry, Coutinho, Rooney and Cisse to name few) which had returned insane pts... Thank you for that!

We'll always have punts that come on and come off. I think Hendersongate has hurt so much because I actually put time and effort using the members areas to research and conclude he was an absolute steal at 6m! He's been red hot since and now 6.5!

I should probably also mention I was talked out of going for Cahil over Terry during the same period and that had slightly better results...
