This evening, we roll out the fourth round draws of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI, as sponsored by Paddy Power, as well as the fifth Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup.

John Terry’s Dog proved that rank is no barrier to success after trouncing 407th placed Mjfdept in the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI to book a place in round four. Our plucky underdog, who is ranked 48,093rd faces another tough tie, though, when he takes on 1,494th placed Morley.

The FFS Paddy Power Cup’s only remaining former champion Jonty (that’s me) eased past Pekka and takes on wagwan in round four.

Mark was another notable round three victor and faces Rook in the next round. Other eye-catching round four ties include Ryan’s clash with Horlicks and Paul’s match with fuml_akimbo.

The FFS Paddy Power Cup XI’s highest ranked manager is sixth placed BegTets, who faces Mndgms (81,398 overall) in round four.

Meanwhile, in the fifth Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup John Terry’s Dog has beaten the odds again after powering past 69th placed Anonymous to book a round four tie with 3,174th ranked TMIDrew.

Other ties in round four include Tommytour’s match with Billy Ketsu and Tuttifrutti’s clash with Shipstontrev.

With an overall rank of 41 Everybody knows badgers love mashpotato is the Members Cup’s highest placed manager. He faces Lovzat, who has an overall rank of 14,835, in round four.

The full draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI can be found here, while the draw for the Members Scout V can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Who will score more in the DGW?
    Toby/Clyne (spurs)

Best keeper to have for the DGW until the end of the season:

    A) Mignolet
    B) McGregor
    C) Schmeichel

Mignolet seems the best option into the Liverpool defence and luckily i can afford him! currently trying to figure out the easiest way to bring in all the possible DGW players into my team without taking a hit

Basically, if you can get skrtel then get him and schmeichel, else Migs is a very good option.

I can afford Skrtl if i do all my transfers now leaving me with £0.0 left and -16 hit ha, i will gamble on Mignolet instead.

The only trouble is that Ozil could potentially get rested, ive got Ramsey which usually worries me before every game.

I would say for the time being that Ozil is their most in form mid

I reckon (especially with wc) it would be daft to go with less than 8 and looking at fixtures 10 isn't unreasonable - punty yes but worth a dabble in my book.

I COULD get 11 out but then I;d only have room for 1 Arsenal in the team and ideally I;d like 3 in GW35 so putting 2 in and having 1 as my only non DGWer seems reasonable. Can then sell either my 2nd DGW stiker or one of my mids to my last Arsenal player

Easy done to get 11 but I agree with you, got to cater for the Arsenal DGW + I fancy Silva at home to Villa.

only room for one non-DGWer, so it'll be Sanchez

                    Schmeichel

Hazard (c), Hendo, Couts/Fab, Cambiasso, Sanchez
                    Remy/Sturridge, N'Doye

    Myhill (Foster)

    Bertie Dawson Cresswell (Monreal, Naughton)

    Eriksen Hazard Ramsey Puncheon (Boyd)

    Austin Kane Aguero

    2.3 ITB, 1FT.

    Shifting Eriksen out was my plan, but Naughton injury has forced me to rethink, plus blanks for Ramsey, Monreal, Austin next week too, so come to this;

    A) Austin to Gomis
    B) Naughton to Taylor
    C) Both
    D) Save and make two for DGW.

    Rooney vs Kane

I am looking at my wildcard which I will take pre-GW34. The way it is coming out I have to make a decision between keeping Rooney or Kane. Ignoring the budget (which only makes a marginal difference for me from GW34 onwards) who would you have?

    Kane: Southampton (a), City (h), Stoke (a), Hull (h), Everton (a)
    Rooney: Everton (a), WBA (h), Palace (a), Arsenal (h), Hull (a)

Bearing in mind that Rooney has an excellent record against Arsenal (8 goals in 5 seasons), I think my preference is with Rooney (although it caused pandemoniium when I said so the other day). But it is a close call. Any helpful comments would be appreciated but I don't want to start WW3 again. 😉

Rooney. Altho i'd be wary of RvP's return, as you don't want to see him back in MF

Yes, that's the only cloud on the horizon. But I think LVG has more sense and with Herrera, Carrick and Fellaini performing well there's no need for Rooney in midfield. I think he'll play alongside RVP if RVP returns. But more likely RVP will be on the bench.

I have this feeling that Rooney is about to explode and it's hard to ignore gut. Listening to gut might create winning differentials at this point.

when you say it's only marginal difference who would you sacrifice if you kept Rooney over Kane

I'm also curious as to why you'd get Rooney over 2 of Giroud (with a future DGW) and Remy/Costa and Sturridge (with one in GW34)

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 11 Years
        11 years, 2 days ago

I will have Giroud as well. Already do in fact. Rooney-Kane-Giroud are my current front three.

I don't believe Costa will be back for the DGW and plan on Terry-Hazard-Fabregas as my Chelsea. Sturridge doesn't interest me, I believe Liverpool mids are a better choice.

Basically GW34 will be N'Doye and Rooney (or Kane) with Giroud benched.
GW37 will be Defoe, Rooney (or Kane), Giroud.

The difference between Rooney and Kane is marginal on budget as I said. With Kane I could have Ivan instead of JT perhaps and Clyne instead of Wollscheid perhaps. But I don't think those gains are especially significant as I am quite likely to captain Rooney once or twice during those 5 games.

if Costa isn't back for DGW why not get Remy? For me I'd want 2 Arsenal players in my team ready for GW35 and I plan on trebling on their attack so I can't get 2 mids from both (and can't afford a 3-5-2 with Giroud N'Doye and Rooney/Kun)

go with your gut tbh but Rooney, when played up top has always been FPL gold

          1. Ruth_NZ
            • 11 Years
            11 years, 2 days ago

Remy is a viable option but if I have him I won't have room for N'Doye. I prefer the way it looks with 2 Chelsea mids and 2 Liverpool mids (one of whom can become Sanchez or Ozil) plus N'Doye (who can become Defoe). For me it works better that way.

My likely DGW34 players (if you are interested) are Schmeichel, Terry, Moreno, Schlupp, Fabregas, Hazard, Sterling (or Coutinho), Henderson, N'Doye. The 2 non-DGW players will be Silva and Rooney so it's a 3-5-2 that week with Giroud, Ospina and a couple of others on the bench.

Well, yes, that's my instinct. But it is a close call and now the dust has settled I wanted to get some cooler opinions. The fact that most say Rooney after viewing the fixtures encourages me.

I have been looking at my wildcard today and it can work either way. Fortunately I don't have to commit till after GW33.

I'm just glad the Liverpool game has been placed in GW34 - gives me a chance to catch up some ground I lost by misplaying the 2 DGWs so far. 😉

Rooney's fixtures are decent so if price doesn't matter he's a good option, especially as we still have top 4+ to play for.

As you're aware just watch out for RVP as that could have an effect. Just hoping LvG realises how much better we're playing right now.

As for the doubles I think you're going to really enjoy having a wildcard and being able to really overload. I do think doubles are always worth it. The potential rewards far outweigh the possible blanks for me.

Yes. I think I have learned that now. 😉

Incidentally, for what it's worth I am also looking after a team without a wildcard and already drafted Remy. Austin or Benteke to Remy for those without wildcard seems almost an automatic move to me.

It is only because I have a wildcard that I can play around more and go a different way. My wildcard will replace 9 players from my current squad. Without a wildcard you have to be economical.

    Been thinking as always
I'll be using a FT next week to get a keeper (probably Davis) but am debating if a defender is worth a 1 GW punt so which of these options
    a) Austin to Murray and use my 2nd FT next week to get a defender (Dann or Baines)
    b) Kos to Dier this week and Austin to Bony next week

    will be on wc GW24

i'm planning to save this week, then do: Bellerin & Giroud -> Baines & Gomis...then WCing in GW34

        😀

all the next 3 transfers are essentially punts

Have 2 injured defenders so one of those can go next week and i need a keeper for GW33, so it's whether I punt on a striker for 2 GWs or 1

I had a recipe with soy beans in. Didn't have any so have replaced with broad beans. Is this gonna ruin it ?!

Know how you feel. I've worked for 8 hours with 4 hours of driving on top of that.
No dinner when I got home.
Had a fried egg sandwich. And a cuppa tea.

I feel like I havee overshadowed you all, and I am deeply sorry for this. I will now step away until tomorrow, and I hope you can all forgive me.

Here have this bit of knowledge: Always thrive for two free transfers. It could come handy.

    See you tomorrow, students.

Thoughts on my bunch of under achievers?

    Davis Gilks
    Clyne Ivanovic Dawson Naughton Hutton
    Hazard Sanchez Eriksen Mane Puncheon
    Aguero Kane Giroud

    1ft 1.9 itb

    Gw32 Save
    Gw33 Giroud to Remy
Gw34 Eriksen and Mane to Sterling and Hendo

Leaves me 5 double gwk's. My bench is a mess but not wasting transfers at this stage. Thoughts?

    2FT and WC to play

    GW 32 Alexis & Austin > Ozil & Remy
    GW 33 Ozil > Punt
    GW 34 WC

Is there a better move I can't see...?

Am i right in thinking that it'd be pretty harsh of Wenger to bench Bellerin after his performance last week? Would prefer to play him than doubling on West Brom, but just worried about Chambers or Debuchy getting a start...

It is difficult to call. I would take a punt that Bellerin will start and Debuchy will come on at some point in the second half

I have planned my team for GW34 (no wildcard), this should leave me with a -4 hit

    Mignolet
    Clyne, Ivan, Toby (Bellerin, Baird)
    Hazard, Henderson, Coutinho, Silva (Ki)
    Aguero, Kane, Austin

My only concern is that i have 5 DGW players, is that too little?
