As most of you will know, popular community member Doosra has been ill for quite some time now. I went to visit him in hospital on Saturday and he asked me to write a short article to update everyone here on him and his status.
Seeing him on Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised at how well he was doing, he still has a long way to go but he is definitely over the worst and on the road to recovery. He told me about how bad things had been even recently, and without going into gory details it’s safe to say we are all lucky that he is on the mend.
He mainly wanted me to write this for two reasons, firstly to put people’s minds at rest. Whilst he is not yet able to come back on Fantasy Football Scout and is still in hospital, he is very much getting better. He said that he doesn’t want to make an appearance back on here until he felt ready, and that to bear in mind when he does that he may be using his phone and is at the moment slower than he used to be. He hopes to be back for next pre-season at the latest and is already planning how to improve his tables for next year.
Secondly he wanted to thank everyone for the support this community has shown. He was eager to pass on thanks for the gestures he knew about, Mark winning him the West Ham ball, Simon’s generous offer should he win Fantasy Premier League and all the get-well messages and poems, etc. Prior to visiting him on Saturday he didn’t know about the Mondogoal competition in his honour and he won’t mind me telling you that he was brought to tears when I told him about it on Saturday. Him and his wife both want me to pass on their most sincere gratitude for everything everyone here has done. They told me that all the positivity from here really has made a big difference to them throughout this difficult time.
I will continue to relay messages between the Doosras and here until he is ready to make an appearance himself, let’s hope that’s sooner rather than later.
PS – He said he had to listen to TalkSport for five days straight, was not impressed.
