Why were you surprised? 8 is a good amount considering how few people had players involved today and really only like Bellerin being a clean sheet off the bench for anyone with Remy.

Because a lot of the Top1K and 10K own Clyne and Remy, so they should have got at least 4 points off the bench

To be fair Spurs have been so up and down, even Kane has slumped now ... their midfield has been a disaster unless you had Eriksen for his rare moments.

I also owned Chadli earlier in the year 😉

Yeah, it does give me the advantage over many putting out less than ideal XI's this week. Aye, my Gw33 team is asking for a red arrow it seems. Why the change Walsh?

        1. Walsh
          • 12 Years
          10 years, 11 months ago

I mean I'd be stunned if Clichy started, so that plays a big part since you'd be running out 10 in my mind for 33. Also, I was thinking you could get Ospina as one of your GKs and sit him in 34 on WC so you will only have to spend 2 transfers on attackers before 37 so you will still have some puntable transfers left. I think there's more to gain from taking good punts for GW33 and getting a stronger team out than there is having a weaker team and then wcing after the double. I think there is more points in there for you in 33. Liverpool have such a good run in it won't be a problem having three of them and Chelsea are Chelsea.

          1. Zasa
            • 11 Years
            10 years, 11 months ago

Hmmm, that is some great food for thought. Trying to outweigh the pros and cons, that Ospina route does have its merits for sure. Would just need to do Vardy to Kane for Gw36, and Fabs out to Ramsey/Alexis for Gw35. Perhaps getting Terry for Fabs for third Chelsea on WC would also give me more wiggle room with trannies. Could then punt on a Sunderland attacker Gw37, have 2 FT's going into Gw38.

            Thanks for the input Walsh.

Yeah and I don't necessarily think you need to buy Kane back at all, honestly. But yeah, still think about it, because the transfers you make this gameweek dictate when you will WC 🙂 I was just thinking more about it and wanted to share w you my bro.

Indeed, your old friend Papiss is back on the 9th, right before
(WBA, qpr, WHM), that is also a class Vardy replacement. Cheers for the much needed insight mate, this decision could be season defining it seems 😯

for a punt. Baines would come in for Naughton and go into a 4-3-3

        Myhill
        Ivan Toby Fonte Baines
        Haz Silva Mane
        Kun Kane Murray

    Hallo all, coupla questions:

    1) If picking just one LIV mid, is consensus Sterling, Coutinho or Hendo?

    2) Is owning an EVE defender now looking viable?

      1) Sterling, Hendo, Coutinho in that order

      2) Yes - Coleman

    2. Walsh
      • 12 Years

Sterling for me. And yes, but seems like it will pass most of us by as we spend basically all of our transfers on DGWers until the season ends.

If Sturridge is out for at least one game, then Sterling has the exponentially higher ceiling than the other mids, IMO. If Sturridge is confirmed fit before the DGW, then Coutiho for me.

Have some bad fixtures for three players...

    Lescott (cry)
    Walters (SOU)
    Mane (stk)

can see mane benched and lescott shipping a load of goals, plus the walters inevitable blank

are any worth shipping for a dgw player or gw 33 punt?

Yeah I can wait. Definitely dong Remy to Murray. With the other FT I'm either doing Clyne to Baines (already have Alderweireld) or Boyd to Bolasie/Puncheon. Can't decide, but swaying to Baines.

Terrible week once again. Lost to my rival by three points as a result of owning both Clyne and Remy.

How does this look to get back on the winning horse?

    Myhill
    Ivanovic - Clyne - Bertrand - Schlupp
    Hazard - Silva - Eriksen
    Agüero (C) - Remy - Kane
    ---
    (Foster) - Boyd, Dawson, Sanchez

generally at this point money is mostly irrelevant unless it starts to come down to exactly that 0.1m so I would be safe over sorry and keep injuries in mind

that being said, there are no English teams in Europe so unless you're worried about training injuries you're probably safe

And with how many DGW players?

Anyone thinking of tripling up with pool mids? Sterling/Hendo and Coutinho all offer a lot of potential(in for Phillips, Mane and Eriksen for me)

    1. Walsh

Don't mind that route at all, but will be dealt with a very expensive fifth midfielder in Hendo so you'd have to have the right type of team balance to withstand that and still be in good shape overall.

Thought about it, but it just leaves my team in an awkward position after the DGW. Pool simply don't score enough IMO for a triple up on their attack. That route leaves you vulnerable for the GW's ahead tbh.

Afternoon all. I've been a bit too cautious of late - talked myself out of a Bolasie punt last week, irritating.

    Myhill, Schmeichel
    Clyne, Terry, (PVA), Schlupp, (Naughton*)
    Hazard, Eriksen, (Sanchez), Silva, Boyd
    Kane, Aguero, (Giroud)

I've got 2FTs for this one, and ten players plus a spare keeper for the week. Got 0.4ITB, no WC. Thinking...

GW33 - swap Naughton > cheapy one weeker (New or Cpl defender?) up to 4.7m
    GW34 - PVA & Eriksen > Henderson and Skrtel

    Thoughts please?

    Chur! 🙂

Very conservative, and I think it will bring you more red arrows mate. Gotta get more aggressive and get in some DGW attackers. Need a third Chelsea player, and would like to see three Liverpool as well even for a hit.

This, pretty much. Moreno tends to be subbed off at around the 70 min mark, though just a mere hindrance if anything.

Double GW34 musings from a fantasy player with some game. 😉

The fact Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester have easy home games in GW35 make them impossible to ignore for the double. 3 from each of Chelsea and Pool plus 2 from Leicester seems the way to go. Add in Silva and Aguero and it's a solid line-up so that's the way I'll be going. The strategy to facilitate this will be to omit Sanchez for GW's 34 and 35, with Kane making way for possibly the rest of the season as Spurs have lost their way and appear to be playing out the season until their summer holidays.

My outfield ten will comprise the following:

Chelsea - Ivanovic, Hazard +1. The plus 1 would have been Costa, then Remy, but the fact Nugent or Vardy are possibles coupled with the lack of prospects in the Leicester midfield sways me towards Fabregas. He's been very poor though and his goal has masked that to an extent. Still, with problems up top Mourinho will either push Fabregas into the hole to support Remy/Drogba, or as is more likely consolidate and play out drab affairs in the hope of narrow single goal
Victories. Either way it's extra points for an additional Chelsea midfielder. Fabregas becomes Sanchez in GW36.

Liverpool - Skrtel/Lovren, Sterling/Henderson/Sturridge. The plan is to have 3 Pool for GWs 34 and 35 before one makes way in 36 for an Arsenal player. Looking like Lovren, Henderson and a punt on Sturridge at this stage, with Sturridge becoming Giroud in 36. No Sterling will worry me if Sturridge doesn't play as he'll be pushed up top. If that happens I'll omit Sturridge and draft in Sterling instead.

Leicester - Schlupp and Nugent/Vardy. Schlupp is worth it for 2 weeks and he can then warm the bench for the remainder of the season. Vardy has the form but Nugent the penalties, so we'll make a call on that shortly.

    Hull - no thanks.

    Likely GW34 and 35 line-up:

    Guzan
    Ivanovic, Lovren, Schlupp
    Hazard(c), Silva, Fabregas, Henderson
    Aguero, Sturridge, Nugent

Like it, prefer Vardy though IMO, Nugent a good pick as well.
Lovren? Can you splash out on Skrtel instead?

Don't have the money for Skrtel, who I'd obviously much prefer.

Is this your WC? If so, I'd definitely opt for better keepers IMO. I have a similar plan regarding the Sturridge/Sterling dilemma. If Sturridge has any question marks over his game time for the DGW, I think downgrading Studge to Giroud (benched) and using those funds to upgrade Hendo to Sterling opting for 352 (short term) and using that last midfield spot for Coutinho is a great route to take IMO. Could the get Skrtel for Lovren as well.

Also, Morgan is definitely one to consider for your Leicester defender. Has been the focal point of most set-pieces and has some of the best underlying stats for a defender (Huth as well). If Pearson reverts back to the three at the back, then obviously he'll benefit that most from it. Something to keep an eye on for sure.

For keepers, perhaps Opsina/Davis are better choices. Arsenal have some incredible defensive fixtures, arguably the best from any top4 team. At 4.9m you have entry to one of the best defenses in the league. Just play him til the rest of the season and have a good Gw34 keeper (Schmeichel?), ad you're set there IMO..

sounds like a good plan to me mate.
I don't have a wildcard so just the maximum chelsea and pool for me, no leicester or hull. might be a blessing in disguise.

Keep for now IMO, wouldn't be taking out DGWers right now unless you have a WC.
Stick with what you got, nothing confirmed he'll be out for longer yet.

I'm under the same impression. Problem is that he's also expensive and limiting other options significantly. Could be a great DGWer but now a liability!! 🙁
