Our Friday lunchtime analysis of the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON are now running a number of different deadlines so Fantasy managers can have as much benefit of seeing teamsheets as possible. Managers can pick teams for all the 15.00 & 17.30 kick-offs up to 15.00 tomorrow. Their Daily game on Sunday, which includes two matches, has a deadline of 13.30.

There’s free entry tournaments and guaranteed pots in all games so plenty for Fantasy managers to take advantage of – you can pick up to three different teams for each game now at www.PlayON.co

Goalkeepers – Kasper Schmeichel
The Dane has nailed down the number one spot at Leicester since returning from injury in Gameweek 30. Despite the availability of veteran Mark Schwarzer, Nigel Pearson has kept faith in Schmeichel and will be hoping the Foxes can serve up a fourth home clean of the season as Swansea pay visit without the injured Bafetimbi Gomis. Available for 6.2m in PlayON this week, Schmeichel has been picked by under 1% of teams and has produced ten saves in his last three to further his appeal. After shipping four goals last week it might appear counter-intuitive for us to be backing Joe Hart (7.9m, 14% owned) as our essential goalkeeper this week, when most will be going for the cheaper option of Tim Howard (7.2m). However, the England keeper offers security behind a fluctuating back-line, has kept three consecutive clean sheets in front of his own fans and visitors West Ham have failed to find the net in four of their last seven away trips.

Defenders – Scott Dann
Alan Pardew’s introduction has undeniably worked wonders for Crystal Palace’s attacking play but the Eagles’ defense has seen less improvement with only a single clean sheet recorded in 12 league outings since the manager took over. The visit of West Brom, who have scored in two of their last five road trips, offers an opportunity for Pardew’s back-line to redeem themselves and add some solidity to their impressive run. Dann’s eight attempts on goal in the last five also piques our interest, whilst his propensity to pick up clearance and interception points makes the 17%-owned centre-half a bargain at just 7.1m. Leighton Baines (8.6m, 40% owned) appears on our radar again on the back of four clean sheets in the last five at Goodison for Everton. Given that visitors Burnley travel to Merseyside with a single goal in six matches, the Toffees chances of a shut-out look strong, whilst Baines’s two goals and eight assists so far underline his points potential at both ends of the pitch.

Midfielders – Aaron Lennon
Available for 8.3m, the winger has been Everton’s main attacking threat in the absence of Romelu Lukaku. Lennon has delivered two goals and an assist in his last four matches, blanking just once over that run, which has seen his side drop just two points. Owned by 15% of PlayON managers so far, the on-loan wide man looks an in-form option as Roberto Martinez’ side look to maintain their climb up the table. Having overlooked Glenn Murray for a spot up front, we call upon his team-mate Yannick Bolasie to continue his form as Palace play host to West Brom. Priced at a very favourable 7.7m, the DR Congo international is heavily backed for this one (44% owned) after his weekend hat-trick against Sunderland took his tally to three goals and four assists in the last four. With the Baggies shipping ten goals in their last four, Alan Pardew’s side will fancy their chances of earning a fifth straight win.

Forwards – Jamie Vardy 7.2m
The Leicester frontman has been directly involved in six of the Foxes last ten goals, netting twice in their last three and serving up four assists. Vardy will be looking to maintain that form against a Swansea defence devoid of both first-choice full-backs – at a cut-price 7.2m, he currently sits in 12% of PlayON squads. After an unusually long absence, Sergio Aguero returns to the picks as our essential striker on the back of last Sunday’s brace at Old Trafford. Having finally ended a five-match goalless streak, the Argentine is now set to welcome a West Ham backline that’s conceded in all but one of their 15 road trips this term. Owned by a hefty 55%, Aguero doesn’t come cheap, though, setting you back 15.0m this weekend.

Head over to www.PlayON.co to get your teams in for the free entry and guaranteed pot games.

I just tried watching the Mourinho presser..swear i watched all of it, but obviously it's messing around. What did he say about Remy? All i heard was about Costa and his progress and a bunch of other stuff. Would really like to know if he mentioned Remy at all.

This ^. It's not like Man Utd is an easy match-up. I took it one step further and sold Remy (fortunately, I had the FTs and WC to do so) as the risk to me of another non game is just not worth it.

Guys, even if Remy plays this weekend (he could easily not) he won't play the full 90 and it sounds like Diego could be back for the DGW

Surely if one has a FT then Remy has to go?

Just wondering for those on a wildcard who are you playing to get( assuming wildcarding just before gameweek 34)
Personally with doubts over costa i think cesc, hazard and terry?ivanovic are the best chelsea options but my issue is with liverpool. I think skrtel is a great option along with henderson but who is the third player. Sturridge is injured again and a rotation option at the moment and is in poor form. In my opinion it leaves it down to coutinho or sterling. I currently have silva and he is playing villa and i would like to keep but if i have henderson, hazard, fabregas and a cheap fifth midfielder it comes up to a straight choice between silva and a second liverpool midfielder. With wba and hull and pr the following week i think i am leaning towards the extra liverpool midfielder.

    What i everyone elses thoughts>

    Current team

    Pantilimon (Juko)
Wollscheid -Ivanovic - Clyne (Schlupp, Naughton)
    SIlva - Mane - Hazard - Siggy - Walters
    Aguero - Kane (Giroud)

Need Pantilimon -> Howard but that leaves me on -0.3mill with 1 FT left, thoughts??

Starting to lose my mind a bit. Is Sanchez and Remy to Fabregas and Vardy worth a hit? Leaves me:

    Myhill
    Terry/Bertrand/Alde
    Silva/Fabregas/Hazard/Boyd
    Aguero/Vardy/Kane

    Bench: Foster/Dawson/Henderson/Jones

It's either that or play 4-4-3 with Dawson and Remy and no subs.

I would not buy that on face value. Pep always has excessive hand gesticulations about so many things, just watch him and he always does things like that. Guardiola is never the type of man who would celebrate something like that. Look at how he always refused to say bad things about Mourinho even after the Tito poking incident.

      1. BruLee
        • 13 Years

It's weird that the Medical Staff quit after that incident. Don't you think they are related? 🙂
Germans would never accept this kind of disrespect.

        1. Guidinho
          • 15 Years
          10 years, 11 months ago

Not really. I think its far more likely that the current injury crisis which was partly the reason for the Porto loss has had an impact. It was widely reported in the German press (I think rafa honegstein mentioned it too) that the physios felt a lot of the brunt for the result. They felt betrayed and chose to quit.

Again I go back to the point of having followed Guardiola career as a manager. He is one of the most liked and respectful managers particulary in terms of his compassion. Things like that vine can so easily be out of context, he could have been trying to achieve anything speaking to the bench.

        2. Guidinho
          • 15 Years
          10 years, 11 months ago

Sorry I got this twisted. I thought the initial thing was saying he was applauding another player getting injured. Doing that to his own team physio is not good and yeah I imagine thats why the fraction and departure. In terms of his working relationship he is meant to be very demanding and obviously overstepped the mark here.

Do you really think that is sufficient context and information to make such a judgment? Ultimately, us fans know about 1% of everything that goes on with players, managers, coaches, etc. in the world of sports. IMO, everything else is just inference. A lot of fun to do though!

Following on from what Beavis said on the last page.....

If people are saying a wildcard is worth 20-30 points (maybe even more), is taking big hits over the next 2 (12-16) not worth it to get to a similar position as wildcarders (depending on your current team)

    ?

    1. BruLee
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

WC are worth >=20-30 points if the players that you bring in perform. You might score more points than a WC with your current team.

So take hits on players who you believe will perform. Play your game.

    2. money face bandwagon
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

there is no need to take a big hit like -12...not all dgw players will work..though having more increase the chance of getting the right one. just get the DGW players that u think will score the most...for example its quite hard for cout sterling henderson sturridge to all score high points at the same time..so just pick the best option u think.

anyway the wildcard right now is not even worth 20pts imo. As a non wildcarder with a -4 i can field 6 DGW players with full squad this week...

Well if he plays tomorrow and comes through unscathed there's a lot more chance of him being involved in the double.

        More Costa news potentially.

It's not just about holding Remy it's more about not rushing into a decision of who to bring in. I.e right now I'd just get Vardy but next week I might want Costa/Sturridge - could be an injury to Fabregas or something.

The Mirror have this quote, even though all 4 were apparently ruled out. Not so sure now

they need to leave a good forward on bench... to play around 60-70min if city needs the victory or to rest Aguero.

Can't they just start both and then sub off Aguero? Not like Dzeko is incapable of playing 90 mins.

If Milner, Jovetic, Bony are all out, does anyone think that Nasri could start?

Thinking of bringing him in for a one week punt before W/C but don't want him if he starts on the bench!

Even if they were all fit I'd be surprised if Nasri doesn't get a start soon!

      I wouldnt
hes not explosive enough to warrant a punt. Besides tnavas amd silva cpuld start with dzeko ahuero up top

Demi, would you risk it with Nasri or go with YYT?

        Cheers

Risk i think. Yaya not great value without pens and looked laboured of late. Nasri might be playing with a point to prove

Hows the below looking for the DGW??? would be -8

    Myhil
    Bertrand/Ivan/Fonte
    Cout/Haz/Sterling/Fab/Hendo
    Aguero/Vardy

    Foster/Kane/PVA/Bellerin 2.3itb

Sorry - 4, could make it -8 by doing Foster > Schmei and playing him..

I would only get coutinho/hendo in midfield and have one of schlupp/skrtel/moreno in defence.

    Best option for dgw34 ?

    A) Sturridge Fab Skirtel Kane (-4)

    B) Ivan Sterling Coutinho Vardy (-8)
