With a double Gameweek 37 on the horizon, many Fantasy managers are already eyeing up Arsenal’s main assets as the north London club look to cement second spot behind Chelsea. The recent return of Aaron Ramsey to the Gunners’ first XI has brought the Welshman onto our radars after he served up two goals, three assists and six bonus points in his last five appearances.

Certainly, there’s no shortage of target within Arsene Wenger’s side. Alexis Sanchez already sits in 27% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams, whilst Olivier Giroud – with seven goals and an assist in his last nine – is surely set for significant investment up front. With Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla also worth considering, we delve into the data and assess Arsenal’s displays since Ramsey’s return to the starting line-up in Gameweek 29.

With Gameweek 34 now behind us, we thought we’d apply our usual Big Numbers approach to the most pertinent issue facing Fantasy Managers – a form check on Arsenal’s assets ahead of Gameweek 37.

It’s worth bearing in mind that the Gunners had a blank Gameweek 33, of course, and have therefore played only five times in the last six rounds of fixtures.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I transferred in Giroud for Rooney earlier today. But fantasy football is hard, every week I'm optimistic all my players will get 3 goals and an assist, but it never happens...

I feel the same way! Part of this is due to the fact that the average number of goals in any given match is like 2, and the other part is the randomness of it all. Fantasy baseball, hoops and hockey are all more predictable. Fantasy football is definitely more unpredictable.

1 to bench for this GW:

    Sanchez
    Henderson
    Sterling
    Fabregas
    Hazard
    Aguero
    Giroud
    Vardy

Would like to have Giroud, Rambo and Ozil for the DGW.

Unfortunately I kept Sanchez instead and now it seems like an awful waste to get rid of him. Oh well...

Why are you upset about owning Sanchez? Even that article states that his numbers are getting back to some hinge like his first 28 games.

The article is great but doesn't include the semi final where Sanchez scored 2 goals so throw in his goal and assist against Liverpool you could say that he's back inform for the final push.

Suspect he's more likely to be rested than the other and (given he'll have the highest ownership) going without him seems like a sound risk to take.

Who Sanchez? Wenger has been too scared to rest him, out of all the players in the squad I think you can be sure that Ozil and Sanchez won't be rested.

Hmmm, maybe you're right. It's just the amount of games he's played this season relative to Ozil, Giroud and Ramsey that makes me think they're less likely to get a courtesy rest if Arsenal are just seeing out the season at that point.

Arsenal won't be in a position to take the foot of the gas, the game in hand is after United so he will have to play a full strength team in that and then a strong team against Sunderland to try and seal second or claw back points if they lose to United.

I think you can forget about rotation in this double, everyone will want to finish 2nd and that's going down to the last week.

The real tough call is Ramsey or Ozil IMO, Hull will be the game to decide, think Ramsey might edge it for Swansea seeing that he's a Cardiff lad, extra motivation etc.

    Why everyone talking about Giroud?

I am pretty sure he won't start both games in double. Welbeck will get some gametime.

I think I am going with Sanchez, Ramsey and Koscielny from Arsenal.

    Schmeichel (Myhill)
    Terry, Skrtel, Morgan (PVA, McShane)
    Hazard, Fabregas, Sterling, Coutinho (Cambiasso)
