We’ve tasked the Sky Blues’ marquee forward, the Red Devils’ reborn midfielder and Liverpool’s fleet-footed playmaker with overhauling Paddy in this week’s iteration of Fantasy Flutter.

Our first wager this week has us eyeing up Sergio Aguero as he pays visit to one of his favourite hunting grounds: White Hart Lane. The Argentinian striker netted seven goals in his previous three starts against Tottenham Hotspur – including a four-goal haul in the reverse fixture – and boasts great form in the league (four goals in three). As such, Paddy’s 12/1 offer on Aguero to score two or more goals and City to keep a clean sheet has tempted us to part with our first £3.

Marouane Fellaini’s resurgence under Louis van Gaal renders the Belgian an enticing target for our second punt. The former Everton stalwart – who’s notched two goals in six starts – has evolved into the focal point of the Red Devils’ attack, chalking up more shots inside the box (six) than any other United midfielder. Considering the Baggies have recorded the fewest away goals (11) in the league this term, Paddy’s 11/2 offer on Fellaini to score and United to keep a clean sheet has us handing over a further £3.

Philippe Coutinho is the subject of our final, and favourite, bet in this round of fixtures. Despite drawing a blank in the last six Gameweeks, no midfielder has fashioned more attempts on target (nine) than the Brazilian starlet over that stretch. Allied with the fact that the Reds recorded shut-outs in nine of their previous 14 outings, Paddy’s 4/1 odds on Coutinho to score and Liverpool to keep a clean sheet  have encouraged us to invest our final £4.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Aguero against a Spurs team that concedes.

Was on Hazard but this will be his 3rd game in 7 days and Chelsea have looked tired for a while now.

Aguero is back scoring regular, when he's regular he's the default captain.

Aguero for me. Great record against Spurs, plus worth noting that for 75 minutes of his demolition of Spurs earlier this season Toure was off the pitch. Toure, for those that didn't see the tweets, is out this weekend. Call it woman's intuition, call it a hunch, but the signs are there for Aguero to do well.

Also I think most of the top 10K will captain Hazard so need a little differential boost.

It says something about risk when captaining the main striker for a top four side going for the golden boot against a mid table side with little to play for who have already let him score four against them this season is considered risky. Aguero seems utterly dull to me. Now captaining Ramsey or Kane...that would be a risk.

I think it was a different Aguero then, and different city that played better football.

THIS Aguero is simply lacking edge (although he gets half a dozen chances every game!) - even in the games where it mattered more than now, when city were chasing Chelsea.

Take Silva, in my eyes, THE best playmaker in the league, why on earth is he not picking points? He just isn't.

An "autopilot" City that doesn't convince, no matter what goal they have.

Well Jonty, it's a really tough call! I think it might come down to two things:

      1. Whether you think Chelsea players will be given freedom to express themselves and seal the title in style
      2. Whether City play with one or two up top.

Yep that's it really. Most own Hazard, a fair few own Aguero. I'm not sure Chelsea will be given the freedom to express themselves too much. If any Chelsea player is to benefit it'll be Remy I think.

But you rae right if I see Bony or Dzeko on the teamsheet alongside Aguero it'll be a heart sink moment.

            • 12 Years

Bony starting would be a worry that's for sure. But i think regardless, Aguero has a mental advantage.

I reckon Chelsea will still do a professional 1-0/2-0 job...which could be good for Hazard in any case.

Looking at Palace's stats they concede alot of shots through the middle - should bode well for Remy. If Costa was starting I'd definitely captain him.

Its so tricky with Arsenal as conceivable Ramsey, Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud all have a chance of doing well...but getting the right one of the four each week is tricky in itself. For me I'm happy to own two of them and captain a player that is the main source of points for a team. Just lowers the odds a bit.

Valid points. I'm chasing a 30pt lead and am running out of GW. It feels like a good week to take a slight punt. And it's only a slight. Captaining Skrtel would be a real punt. In fact now there's a thought.

Aguero. My reasoning for him over Hazard:

The lead up to City vs Spurs has been all about the golden boot race - i'd put my money on both teams trying to set up goals for Kane and Aguero. Should be an open affair and like you said, Aguero has the mental edge (lol @ Fazio he'll be shitt*n bricks). Spurs defence is bad + City still creating chances.

Personally, I think Mourinho will continue his professional approach UNTIL they seal the title. 1-0 or 2-0 scoreline on the cards. PLUS they will not have the benefit of knowing the score of the City or Arsenal games...hence they have to get the 3 points first and foremost.

Last thing they'd want is to have to secure the title in the games after that IMO.

      - Liverpool: tricky fixture, form out of the window when big teams play each other
      - WBA away: not easy
      - Sunderland home: no way Chelsea will want to go into the last game of the season with the title on the line

Doesn't mean Hazard is a bad pick...just means Aguero is a better pick in my view.

Good points. Hazard could do better than Aguero, but looking at history, form etc I agree that on paper Aguero has the edge.

Either player could do better than each other - they're both fantastic FPL captains.

And yes, on paper Aguero has the edge for me. Now Aguero captainers just have to hope it translates to the pitch.

Both players should be fired up.

You can't ignore the fact that this is also their 3rd game in 7 days, they are going to be leggy and in this case the result is more important than performance.

I would be surprised if they run riot against a Palace side who are better away than at home.

Strengthens the point even more, they looked out of steam before this double week and that's why they've been in grind out mode.

I only really expect them to open up on that last day of the season when they get the trophy and it's all settled.

      3. Biancazzurri
        • 13 Years

The title is within reach - a win = Champions - I think Chelsea will try to score as quickly as possible. Perhaps they'll settle back offensively after that, but THIS is a game they just have to play their very best.

Maybe that doesn't necessarily speak in Hazard's favour, but from the very start he'll be intense and eager to score.

Kun it will be for me.

Palace will park the bus imo.

They always have liked to have a say on who wins the title, and I think they will love to spoil their neighbour's party for the time being and I think the Palace fans would love that sort of thing too and hence their gameplay will be negative as far as I can see.

However, I don't think that will be enough to stop Chelsea, they will surely grind out a victory as they have been doing ever since that Swansea game. So, all in all, I don't see it to be a high scoring game at all.

Jose in 2009-10 while he was in Inter, in the decisive final day of the season against Siena (which got relegated that season) won by the slimmest of margin of 1-0, grinding out victory from the back once again.

Hence, don't see any reason why Jose would instruct his players to seal the title 'in style' this time around. He is too old a bird for that and besides the Chelsea players are tired anyway after 3 games in 6 days.

I went Vardy, I fancied Leicester to come out strong against Newcastle and I thought it would be a good chance for him to shine and get a big haul. I also needed to captain someone my ML leader wouldn't, so at least I achieved that.. but.. I'm going to be very nervous watching Aguero now!

    Ospina(Schmeichel)
    Terry Skrtel Schlupp (PVA Vlaar)
Hazard (C) Fabregas Sterling Hendo (Silva)
    Giroud Aguero Vardy

    A. Silva to Ramsey

Not sure tbh both have potential but there's bound to be goals in the tot Game. Hull won't concede many surely? And mata is shackled without Carrick. I think it's fair to say I'm lost this week!

Giroud - he has never scored vs hull/hull have less GA conceded in side box than CP/spurs
Kane - did you watch him play last week?
        Kun -see below
Hazard - CP's GA conceded/GA conceded in side box higher than Spurs/Hazard has 6 double digit scores at home

I may sound like a broken record but Hazard needs to take a shot to score which he isn't doing. If this based on stats alone Aguero is the standout captain

My defenders are making me think:

      Davis

      Berty Terry Skrtel

      Sanchez Cout Sterling Haz

      Benteke Aguero Vardy

      Krul Bellerin Shlupp Boyd.

Depends who your chaser has is their team. If he has either of them he's likely to captain one of them, probably Aguero for slight differential if he thinks you'll go Hazard. If either explode and Vardy blanks you'll still be ahead but the lead could be half that 50.

      Mignolet (Myhill)

      Bertie Terry Cresswell Monreal (C.Dawson)

      Hazard Coutinho Ramsey (Puncheon, Boyd)

      Kane Vardy Aguero

.9 ITB, 1FT but not opposed to a hit at this stage.

      Captaining Hazard.

But going without all together against a team like Hull would surely never have been the plan before Hull kept 2 clean sheets?

My plan was after I WC for the double was to take a couple of hits to get sanchez Ramsey and giroud. Not so sure now.

Thinking I should get one at least just to spread the risk after loading up on Chelsea and Liverpool.

      Hazard Fabregas sterling Henderson cambiasso
      Aguero giroud Kane

      His only differences are

Kane is ok, toby is ok.

Erm, it's hard. You could captain kane if you like that idea. I think i'd try to get the most points possible and aim for arsenal players in the dgw
