Our Friday lunchtime analysis of the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON are now running a number of different deadlines so Fantasy managers can benefit from seeing as many teamsheets as possible. Managers can pick teams for all the 15.00 & 17.30 kick-offs up to 15.00 tomorrow. Their Daily game on Sunday, which includes two matches, has a deadline of 13.30.

There’s free entry tournaments and guaranteed pots in all games so plenty for Fantasy managers to take advantage of – you can pick up to three different teams for each game now at www.PlayON.co

Goalkeepers – Boaz Myhill
The West Brom stopper was by far the most profitable pick between the sticks last week – a huge score of 3270 points was over 1000 more than any other goalkeeper. Myhill made nine saves in the resilient 1-0 win at Old Trafford, indicating he offers great value at only 5.7m, with an ownership of 8%. Facing a Newcastle side that are sinking towards the drop zone, the Welshman looks a strong shout to keep a fourth straight clean sheet. Coming in at just 7.1m, Tim Howard offers the cheapest route into the Everton defence as struggling Sunderland roll up to Goodison. The Toffees are seeking a fifth successive shut-out in front of their own fans, though with the Black Cats desperate to boost their chances of beating the drop, save points at the very least look on the cards for the 12%-owned US international.

Defenders – James Chester
In spite of Monday’s home loss to in-form Arsenal, Hull’s defence have impressed of late, notching back-to-back clean sheets against Liverpool and Crystal Palace prior to the Gunners showdown. With a home clash against goal-shy Burnley up next, Chester is our pick from the Tigers back-line – at 6.5m, the 11%-owned centre-half is slightly more than fellow defender Paul McShane (6,3m) but has made more interceptions and clearances in the last three and even created three chances. Currently selected by 20% of PlayON managers, Hector Bellerin is our essential defender. The Spaniard has started each of the last four matches for Arsenal and appears to have secured the right-back berth over Callum Chambers for the run-in. Arsene Wenger’s side have conceded just two goals in their last seven home matches and, at a price of just 6.5m, Bellerin looks excellent value as Swansea visit the Emirates on Monday evening.

Midfielders – Jack Cork
Thanks to the PlayON Scoring Matrix, the Swansea midfielder should pick up plenty of interception and tackle points as the Swans attempt to hold back Arsenal at the Emirates. Priced at just 6.2m, the 11%-owned Cork even scored his third of the season in the Swans’ last away match and looks a great enabler to free up funds in attack, with expensive big hitters Sergio Aguero, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Benteke all vying for our attention. David Silva (13.4m) needs little explanation as our essential midfielder. Up against QPR at the Etihad, the Spaniard –who is owned by 33% of PlayON managers – served up an eighth assist of the campaign in the win over Spurs and is in his best goal scoring form since joining City, with 11 strikes to his name already.

Forwards – Leonardo Ulloa
Although Jamie Vardy has been the popular Leicester pick in recent weeks, Ulloa’s return to form saw him produce a brace (and four shots on target) against Newcastle last weekend. Leicester have remarkably won five of six matches, whilst visitors Southampton have picked up a single point in five on the road, with their backline conceding twice in each of their last three. Given that eight of Ulloa’s ten goals have arrived at the King Power, the 8.3m striker could be a real differential with a mere 1% ownership. With David Silva in midfielder, we’re overlooking Sergio Aguero for City’s clash with QPR and turn to Alexis Sanchez as our essential striker. With doubts over Aaron Ramsey’s fitness, Mesut Ozil’s inconsistency and Olivier Giroud’s form dropping off, we feel the Chilean is a must in PlayON teams this week. A brace against Hull on Monday night bought his tally to 16 for the season, including a strike against upcoming opponents Swansea back in Gameweek 11. In spite of a lofty 14.7m price tag, Sanchez is the third most popular forward in PlayON at present and resides in 23% of teams.

Head over to www.PlayON.co to get your teams in for the free entry and guaranteed pot games.

    Vardy ➡ Giroud or Benteke?

I have a 30 point lead and rival has Benteke.

Is there any way to see how many transfers a rival has made this week?

I always thought it just showed on transfers made (like a wildcard shows as active when activated) but now not sure that's the case..

    Hope that makes sense

    Fabianski
    Bertand Iva Schlupp
    Sanchez Coutinho Hazard Silva
    Remy Benteke Kane

    Subs: Skrtel Henderson Bruce

    1 FT.

    Im thinking Fabianski -> Ospina
Henderson -> Albrighton for a -4pt hit to free up funds.

Next week - Play coutinho, and do one or any of the following transfer
      1) Remy for Giroud

      3) Silva for Ramsey/Caz/Ozil

Looking forward to seeing the transfer window for United now that LVG has a good idea of where the limitations are.

A Carrick replacement (seemingly Gundogan) is a must. Clear as day how reliant United are on him.

At times, yes, Bender being one he has paired up with a bit. At other times it was Gundogan who took the DM role. He has played CAM on occasion as well

Do you not think Gundogan replacing Carrick could be similar to Arsenal's problems with Arteta?

          1. Somalion
            • 16 Years
            10 years, 11 months ago

Not really because Gundogan actually has a much more defensive component to his game. He is more a deep lying play maker with good defensive attributes, while Arteta was a CAM wedged into a CDM position. Gundogan has always had the defensive attributes and work rate.

He isn't an out and out DM but neither is Carrick.

2013/2014 was a very bad season for him because of a spinal compression issue. Aside from that he tends to clear at least 20 league games a season, including this season.

Hardly an impressive feat for a professional football player though. Not doubting their quality, just a bit worried about signing injury prone players like Gundogan or even Hummels. We have enough problems as it is.

Right more help is needed from the lovely ffs community more than ever.

I am currently 2place in my mini league and chasing down a bitter rival. They are 45pts ahead, and is beginning to put the brakes on by transferring the same players as me to prevent any damage. I won the league last year from a similar position so I believe I can still do this. Just need some strong advice on what to do with my team next.

    My team now:

    Pantilimon
    Terry Ivanovic Bellerin
    Hazard Ramsey Silva Fellaini
    Aguero Giroud Vardy

(Heaton, Alderweireld, Cambiasso, PVA) 0.4m itb

Rival's Team: (he just took -8pt hit to get Silva n Rambo to block me)

    Schemichael
    Okore Koscielny Terry
    Sanchez Hazard Silva Ramsey
    Aguero Vardy Ndoye

    (Given, Henderson, Alderweireld, Bruce)

    So...

3 game weeks.. 45pts.. What can I do?

Get in Kane or Benteke in for Vardy for -4pts?

If so, Kane or Benteke... And who do I take out?

Ivanovic for someone? Or hazard out? Or Ramsey for Cazorla\Ozil

If Ramsey is out does Cazorla play further forward?

And if Cazorla plays further forward does that affect Sanchez?

No - Caz still plays in the double pivot with Coq.

N/A as first answer was no.

        This.

Straight swap with Wilshere or Theo on the right.

          Cheers Beavis & WR....so....

Sanchez still a good call? And then who Ozil or Cazorla? Or wait for Ramsey?

I was advocating Ozil and Cazorla over Ramsey before the injury. Both share set pieces, Caz is on pens, but Ozil is more advanced. I prefer Ozil personally.

Sanchez the best option in the game atm imo.

Carrick out for the season, Virus in United-team, RvP is fit again.. could United lose more than just the Arsenal-game?

Meanwhile Lucas is back for Liverpool which statistically means unbeaten runs, more goals, less goals conceded.. and Chelsea-players on 4 day vacation before game..

Would love some drama at the end of the season

even a draw for them against Chelsea, and a loss for Utd tomorrow, will mean a 2 point gap

They don't even need to beat Chelsea as long as ManU gets a maximum of 2 points from the last 3 matches, or if Liverpool loses to Chelsea, a maximum of 1 point (or 2 if Liverpool catches their 13 goal advantage in goal difference). It is not impossible.

Not too happy with my team this week as it seems as though they're playing against each other. Good to go?

    Ospina
    Ivanovic / Skrtel / Bertrand
    Ramsey / Sánchez / Cambiasso / Hazard
    Benteke (vc) / Vardy / Agüero (c)

Schmeichel / Henderson / van Aanholt / Collins

I'm chasing the league leader, he' about 40 points ahead. Would it be a better choice to captain Sanchez this week rather than Aguero?

Do it. Make it or break it. You won't catch that lead without doing something different.

Assuming leader will captain Aguero and also has Sanchez?
It'll be make or break, or as you were if both blank but then he'll probably captain Sanchez for DGW, so you'd need a Giroud or an Ozil or a Ramsey to captain.

*how not to answer a question.

He hasn't got any arsenal midfield atm, but not sure if he's bringing Sanchez in for this GW though. Yeah was thinking of at least captaining Arsenal mid for the DGW. I've got Alexis and Ramsey, but Ram's fitness is a question right now. But this week... I think Alexis it has to be, all or nothing. 😉

        Really- Interesting..
He hasn't done a huge amount recently though even with Leicester winning.

Hendo more likely to be involved in the goals if the Pool can catch Chelsea off guard.
