We take our usual Sunday evening look at the number of new injuries picked up over the weekend’s fixtures, with United nursing a number of concerns in the final third.

Chelsea
Kurt Zouma was selected ahead of Gary Cahill for this afternoon’s draw with Liverpool but lasted just 35 minutes before being subbed off through injury. Petr Cech missed out altogether with a slight neck problem.

Everton
Leighton Baines is set for scans after being forced off through injury 74 minutes into the Toffees’ 2-0 home loss to Sunderland. Post-match, Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We are going to assess his ankle. He was really suffering, it was very painful so at that point we couldn’t take any risks. We are going to assess him over the next 48 hours and find out if he is going to be available for the rest of the season.”

Leicester
Nigel Pearson is sweating on the fitness of Matty James, after the midfielder was stretchered off during yesterday’s clash with Southampton. Post-match, the Foxes boss seemed pessimistic over the midfielder’s injury before also revealing that substitute David Nugent picked up a problem in the 2-0 win:

“We had to deal with a couple of injuries throughout the game. Matty James picked up what looks to be quite a serious knee injury then Nuge (David Nugent) going on as a sub and not being able to finish the game at full tilt. It potentially gives you a few problems. Credit to the players though, they dealt with what they had to today. [For Matty James] It really is a case of getting the scan done and taking it from there. It doesn’t look to be at all encouraging. It could be a serious knee injury, but we’ll wait and see what the scan tells us. With Nuge it’ll be a case of having a scan and seeing where we go.”

Reports also indicate that Leonardo Ulloa sustained a hamstring problem before making way for Nugent.

Manchester United
Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney were both withdrawn due to injury during United’s trip to Palace. After the 2-1 win, Louis van Gaal played down the pair’s problems:

“It was very bad because our team was out of balance. Phil Jones had to play as a left full-back. Rooney has a dead leg so I had to change things that were not in our favour at that time, but still these in circumstances, we fought until the end and we have beaten Crystal Palace. Shaw took an elbow and had a bloody nose, but he went to the hospital and I have already heard that he shall fly home with us so I don’t think it is very bad. Out of precaution, we took him off. Rooney had a dead leg so next week he is healthy and fit to play.”

Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria missed out at Selhurst Park due to illness and injury respectively, whilst Chris Smalling was subbed off after suffering cramp. Van Gaal admitted the defender wasn’t playing particularly well prior to being hauled off:

“[Smalling] was stumbling and I don’t think he played his best match so that’s why I changed. He had cramp, you could see it because he was pulling at his toes.

Newcastle
Vurnon Anita was withdrawn late on after sustaining an injury during the Magpies draw with West Brom.

QPR
Sandro was unable to feature in today’s trip to City due to issues with his UK Residency visa.

Lads, I finally jumped to the top of my ML after 4 months of intense chasing, yesterday. I need to do whatever it takes to maintain that lead over him.

Rival - Giroud, Kane and Benteke (but no Aguero or Silva)
Me ---- Vardy, Aguero and Benteke

Which set of moves looks good; all for (-4)?

    A) Hazard + Vardy ➡ Silva + Giroud.............blocks Rival's Giroud.

    B) Hazard + Henderson ➡ Silva + Ozil

    C) Henderson + Vardy ➡ Gomez + Giroud....blocks Rival's Giroud and let's me keep Hazard, but will he play?

    1. S.Kuqi
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 10 months ago

      Defo not B. I would do C.

Hazard is good captain choice for last gw.

      1. Doctor X
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 10 months ago

But with C, Hazard might not even play and I'll have to have a 11.2 mill non player. I'm thinking that it's better to get in Silva for Hazard who has a much bigger upside to getting Gomez in.

And I don't plan to (c) Hazard for the final GW. Really think that he's gone off the boil now that the season is over.

        What say man?

    2. Camp No No
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 10 months ago

You may lose that lead tonight when Giroud plays, in which case you wouldn't want to block his Giroud, maybe. That said, Giroud - Aguero - Benteke sounds tons better than Giroud - Kane - Benteke, so it probably would seal it for you.

I'd reconsider those transfer options, nevertheless.

      1. Doctor X
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 10 months ago

Giroud's gotta score 30 for that. Fingers crossed that does happen.

You don't reckon that getting Silva in is a priority, seeing their last 2 fixtures?

    3. MBK 42
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 10 months ago

C is safer, I'm not convinced Hazard hasn't got a big score left in him.

        10 years, 10 months ago

I completely understand that thought. But isn't it better to have

      Benteke.

Most popular striker transfers last GW:

      1. Kane to Benteke
      2. Austin to Benteke
      3. Giroud to Benteke!!!
      5. Remy to Benteke
      7. Vardy to Benteke!
      8. Murray to Benteke

A lot of hits taken and a lot of hits delayed to this week as well I expect. Giroud to Benteke the week before DGW is about as insane a transfer as I could imagine really. Especially when a hit was (or will be) involved.

You may know about or have used the FPL Analyzer (www.fplanalyzer.com). There are 200-300 active users every gameweek now which is great. With the season drawing to a close, I was wondering if you wanted to suggest any new feature which I might work on during summer. So feel free to suggest.

Why did you choose to go without?

I didn't choose to as such, was just always something else on. For one reason or another it just never happened. Love him as a real life player as well. Guess I kept telling myself that in previous seasons he's been a consistant stream of steady points so wouldn't damage me to go without. This season he's been the exact opposite. Really explosive.

      Hi guys !
I have a massive doubt for next week...

Fab > Sanchez and Baines > PVA Or Cresswell

      Or

Silva > Sanchez and Baines > Johnson or Cresswell

What a week! 86 points with 3 to play.

Any idea what to do with this lot??

    Ospina
    Terry - Skrtel - Vlaar
    Hazard - Coutinho - Silva - Ramsey
    Giroud - Kane - Aguero

    Bench - Krul - Schlupp - Fonte - Gutierrez

Considering using my 2ft to Opina + Hazard > Panti + Sanchez. Is there anything better anyone can suggest?

So I have a story from this GW- Yesterday I logged into FPL around 7.00pm and checked my mini-league. I'd slipped to 5th place so I checked the team selections of people above me to see if they had Aguero as C. They all did except the leader who is miles ahead of everyone anyway but I was made up that at least I might beat him this week. He had Sanchez as C and Aguero as VC. I logged in 3-4hrs later and checked the overall mini-league table and this same guy was now ahead of me by 20 points on the GW. I checked his team again and now he suddenly has Aguero as C and Silva as VC! How is that possible!

Sunderland have scored 4 goals in the last two games. Which consist of two pens and 1 deflected goal. The chances their attack brings returns in the double dont look that great but when luck is on your side, you know that if you go without, then they will troll you hard.

    1. Big_Andy_GAWA

The other one was kind of deflected as well, AFAIR. wouldn't be overly concerned about getting any of their attacking assists in, tbh.

    Davis
    Terry, PVA, Wasi
    Hazard, Sanchez(c), Silva, Ramsey
    Aguero, Giroud, Benteke

1 FT - 0.0 ITB - hamer, Toby albrighton Bruce

    1) should I just save FT for final week? Or maybe Hazard to Gomez or another punt if hazard might be tested?
    2) start Toby (AVL) over Wasi (sun) or will
Tekkers tear them a new one? (Hoping he will)
