I can’t deny it – right now my luck is in. Following on from Sadio Mane’s three-minute explosion of points, I’m finding it hard to mask my “smug face” in this week’s ScoutCast episode. You’re advised to stick to the audio version rather than suffer it in full effect via the Google Hangout recording.

Whilst resisting the temptation to revel in my Gameweek 37 glory, I do my best to invite both Granville and Jonty into the conversation to cycle through the ScoutCast regulars. We also tackle another batch of community questions, as you quiz us on final day punts, our Fantasy Football Scout moment of the season and on the state of the Fantasy Premier League game that we know and love.

This episode was recorded on Wednesday evening (prior to Eden Hazard’s visit from the tooth fairy) and beamed live on Google Hangouts.

    Who would you play?

    A Kolarov + Benteke + one of Coutinho or Kane (which one?!)
    B McShane + Benteke/Lukaku + Giroud (Benteke also allows me to upgrade Cambiasso to Milner - or to other 5.5 max midfielder, but i don't like Bolasie/Puncheon/Fer/Shelvey/Philips enough and i already have 3 LEI. the problem is i don't really want to upgrade Cambiasso. with Lukaku i would have to settle for Philips as a reserve instead of Milner)
    C McShane + Benteke + Walcott (or any other MF of 8.5 max, but i don't like any of them)
    D McShane + Lukaku + Siggy
    E McShane + Lukaku + Benteke (-4)

    Almost decided, but i would like to hear opinions, maybe i'm missing something. Thanks.

    Is Aguero really the best GW38 captain?

    I am very reluctant to captain him this week for some reason. He has no great scoring record against Southampton and they are still quite solid defensively despite having levelled off a bit.

    Had Hazard been 100% I would certainly have captained him and wouldn't even be asking. As it is my armband's on Lukaku but I'm not entirely convinced about that either. I might even captain JT. If someone can explain why Aguero is such a runaway favourite I'd be obliged.

        I don't need a differential. I just want to make the best captaincy decision. I captained Aguero in GW36 but this week doesn't seem so simple.

      the big thing there is the lack of Schneiderlin

      Aguero is probably not the best option but he is the safest and it's hard to know who'll be the best

      some are punting on the likes of Theo, Gomis, Lukaku, Tekkers

        I think it is Southampton that puts me off, though as you say without Schneiderlin and Forster maybe they aren't the same defensive force.

      Best forward in the league, on form, one gameweek left and a large amount will captain him which means if you dont and he gets a brace you will drop alot down the rankings. Last gameweek never the best for clean sheets. Mourinhos teams tend to have worse defensive records afterthey win the league so wouldnt go terry

      The top scorer in the league , playing at home to a team that the media believe have petered out and have nothing to play for . That is how the majority will see Aguero this week I am surprised you are shocked by this . It is up to you to find a reasonable alternative . Costa is unfit , Benteke might be rested or taken off early , Sanchez and Giroud are off form , there is no stand out United player , no stand out Liverpool player . It is slim pickings as far as I can see at the min

        I'm not shocked, I'm just not convinced.

        If I'm lucky, Hazard playing will become clear before deadline. That would take my problem away. Otherwise it will be Lukaku or Aguero I guess.

        Not entirely but maybe I look for different logic than you.

        Top 10k ownership and captaincy % makes him a sensible option. But I don't like choosing my captain that way. I like to captain the one I think has the best chance of a haul and I'm not convinced that's Aguero this weekend.

        Some weeks my captain picks himself. This week isn't one of them.

    My vow at the start of the season was to not do any early transfers.....apart from the odd one I managed it (incl. tonight wen I stupidly thought the GW started tomorrow!)... and to not own YaYa which I did manage (even though he will probably score a hat trick tomo)...any other pre season vows out there that people kept??

      i refused to buy soton defence after having missed out on them in the earlier weeks, and once the reached the 5.5-5.6m mark i kept refuing to invest. baaaaad mistake

    Leading my mini-league.

    Make transfers now and give him chance to make changes in response or wait to till Sunday morning in the hope for more Hazard news but risk price rises.
