As we mentioned earlier in the week, this season we’ll be working with a number of weekly Fantasy Football games in a bid to highlight some of the new offerings, whilst bringing you coverage of familiar platforms.

We’ve set up Tom Fenley, the 2013/14 Fantasy Premier League champion, to take on these games – arming him with £100 stake money in each.

He’ll be bringing you weekly articles on the games featured that week, tracking his progress as he plays.

The first of these new games will be Premier Punt.

What Is It?

Quite simply, Premier Punt is a Fantasy game that offers weekly and daily tournaments and allows you to play head-to-head or as part of a mini-league.

Not surprisingly, there are cash prizes on offer, with a free-to-play league offering a £100 pot each week.

For the first week of the season, that pot has been bumped up to £200.

Why Should I Play?

Primarily because Premier Punt is a simple step from playing Fantasy Premier League.

The game is one of several to mimic the FPL scoring model, translating it directly to a weekly game platform.

There’s no bonus points factored in but, aside from that, you’ll be able to select a team with the same principles as picking an XI in FPL, albeit with a Wildcard in place each week.

The player prices are set by Premier Punt’s own algorithm, so there is some thinking to be done each week – you won’t get away with translating your FPL lineup straight into your Punt XI.

Having said that, Tom’s Weekly shop article should help you out on that score and you can select up to three lineups each week to spread your risks and heavy-hitters.

With that in mind and £200 on offer in their free game for Gameweek 1, all you have to do is register to get involved from the off.

There’s more to come from Punt, too.

They’ve new game formats on the way, plus a mobile app, complete with a custom game set-up that makes it easier to play on the move.

How Do I Get Started?

You can register an account with Premier Punt here, without having to add credit card details or deposit funds.

Once registered, you need to select one of the games on offer – picking the Weekly Game type will give you access to the various tournaments on offer for Gameweek 1.

One of those is the free-to-enter Gameweek 1 contest with a prize pot of £200.

Simply select the weekly games, then choose your XI and then join up with the contest or “challenge” of your choice.

Look out for Tom Fenley’s Premier Punt article on Friday where he’ll be talking more about the game and the contests on offer and just how he’s spending his first slice of stake money ahead of Gameweek 1.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

First ever RMT - any comments appreciated:

    Rudd Ruddy

    Cedric Ivanovic Williams Huth S.Taylor

    Hazard Ozil Mane Lens Mutch

    Rooney Kane Sakho

To get Aguero: Ivan to Coates, Rooney to Aguero...(Is it a risky going without a big hitter defender?)

A big hitting defender is not essential if you get your rotation right.

a big hitting defender not scoring well is much less disappointing and angering than having 6 points on the bench

im strongly contemplating this.. whats the best you have come up with so far?
        leaves a strong mid/ attack..

        Im loking at

        Ruddy/ Rudd
Cedric or Tomkins as a 5.0 then:

        Richards // Huth // Francis // Ward

Whats everybodys plan for getting Aguero in?

    A) In from GW1
    B) Cash in bank to upgrade to him
    C) Saving up 2 Free transfers
    D) Wild Card
    E) Take a hit
    F) Going without him

Anyone care to make predictions regarding differance in fpl-points at the end of season on the following?
Worst case first, best case 2nd.

I've put the ones I think will do better on the left so answer with them in mind like this,
    +10, +40 OR -20, +40.

    1. Panti vs Schmeicel
    2. Ivan vs Azpi
    3. Mane vs Milner
    4. Benteke vs Pelle

      1 - panti + 20 over schmeical
      2 - ivan + 40 over azpi
      3 - mane + 30 over milner
4 - benteke -10 than pelle (assuming sturridge gets fit this season - other wise +10)

Will repeat, maybe can help to someone.

Hello everyone. I`m from Ukraine and watch almost every Lense game in last season.

He is incredibly quick and explosive, but definetely not the FPL kind of player - very poor last touch and bad passing.

If you will ask me - buy Mahrez, Sinclair, Ritchie, Puncheon or any other option.

If you are going all out attack gw1 then I would plan to pick a team with 2 defenders and 8 good attackers, all with good fixtures for gw1, then wildcard GW2 to grab the bandwagons. I'm seriously tempted with this, as the extra week will maybe mean having a better idea of the players likely to be selected. Pity is its a shame to use the wildcard early - but would hope to have a good first gameweek atleast and build on that?
