The Numbers Game – Community Shield Match Analysis

With only three days remaining until the 2015/16 Premier League campaign gets underway, we thought we’d take an in-depth look at the first match of the domestic season, which took place last Sunday. Arsenal’s 1-0 Community Shield victory over Chelsea finally broke Arsene Wenger’s winless streak over nemesis Jose Mourinho, thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first-half wonder strike.

As Fantasy managers start to fine-tune their final 15-man squads for the campaign ahead, our next members article delves into the data from Wembley’s weekend showdown.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    What's your opinion:

    A: Kos Azpi Cedric & 4.5 mid
B: Kos Fonte Williams & Sinclair

    Every feedback appreciated 🙂

      A. The 4.5 or 5.0 will benched anyway and that defence in A is lush.

Caught at the bottom of the page:

Okay boys, A or B? This could make or break my season.

    A - 3-4-3
    Ruddy (Rudd)
    Mertesacker, Cédric, Huth, (Coates), (Targett)
    Sterling, Hazard, Özil, Mané, (Fletcher)
    Rooney, Kane, Sakho

    or..

    B - 3-5-2
    Ruddy (Rudd)
    Huth, Mertesacker, Azpilicueta, (Coates), (Targett)
    Depay, Mané, Sterling, Hazard, Özil
    Kane, Sakho/Wilson (perfect rotation H and A)

    Thanks all.

    So here's my latest draft...

Stekelburg (Elliot) - Stekelenburg is only temporary, will get Forster in when he returns.

Azpi - Bellerin - Richards - Poccognoli (Saylor) - Always play Azpi and Bellerin and then rotate villa and west brom.

Haz - Walcott - Fab - Sterling (Stanislas) - heavy hitting

Roonpig - Lukaku - Jerome - Jerome is my little punt, ignore that...

    Thoughts?

Like it. Bellerin over Mert? Also, Why Haz and Fab? Not sure it's worth it.

Jerome, nice punt although I prefer other budget forwards.

From what I've seen of Bellerin pre season he looks a fantastic attacking threat (even better than last season)

In terms of fabregas, I can't see any other big hitting midfielders who are better...

      1) W or D
      2) Difficult. Sinclair could be a great call if he nails down a place. Ibe very similar, but he's destined for goods things at Liverpool I suspect - maybe even later this season.

    RMT please guys;

    Ruddy, Butland
    Azpi, Cedric, Francis, Morgan, S.Taylor
    Hazard, Cazorla, Sterling, Mane, Fletcher
    Rooney, Benteke, Wilson

£1M in the bank - can do roon+sterling to aguero+7.5M when needed.

I'm toying with the idea of going azpi+haz > ivan+fab and leaving £2.5M in the bank.

    That £2.5M would allow me to do any of the following in 1 transfer if required;

    Fab > Haz
    Cazorla > Sanchez
    Rooney > Ageuro

    Thoughts?

Hey guys! Would really appreciate any comments and ratings. Good luck all!

    Panti/Hennessey
~Not sold on rotating GKs, with the memory of leaving Fabianski on the bench last season when he made team twice, and I'd rather have Panti over other SUN defenders. Plus good fixtures

    Azpi/Koscielny/Cedric/Jenkinsen/Huth
~Looking for suggestions on Cedric and Jenkinsen. I know I have a lot money invested in the defense atm, but that's because I'm at a loss of where to invest an extra .5 or 1 mil in other places of my squad atm

    Hazard/Walcott/Cazorla/Milner/King
~Taking a punt on Walcott. If it falls thru, planning on downgrading him to fit Aguero. Not a fan of doubling up on Arsenal, but I'm not I also don't want to double up on SOU or MANU (have Rooney already). Milner is my choice 7 mil atm, but open for suggestions. Have Andy King for my 4.5, but also looking at Bentelab. Thoughts on that?

    Rooney/Pelle/Wilson
~I have Wilson and Pelle for fixtures. Planning on upgrading Roo to Aguero unless he's firing on all cylinders, then I'll have to wildcard or take a hit. Thoughts?

    Cheers!
