Tonight’s Hawthorns encounter between West Brom and Man City brings the curtain down an opening Gameweek that’s failed to live up to most managers’ expectations. Having chalked up 16 clean sheets in the season gone by, the Baggies will be looking to put the brakes on Manuel Pellegrini’s men, whilst the visitors will be buoyed by a round of results that’s already seen title rivals Chelsea and Arsenal stumble out the blocks.

Re the first goal. Doesnt matter what actually happened. All that matters is who the press association credit, and that is Yaya. Case closed.

Had in my draft for a long time if that counts for anything, had 0.5 ITB spare and upgraded him to Sterling 🙁

On closer inspection of the replay. It's probably Silva's goal. Telling touch with his right instep before the deflection off Dawson. #wba

A bit of advice. Some of the top teams, mainly Arsenal and Man City have too much competition in the ranks to deliver consistent points. Arsenal's midfield is packed. I suggest turning to key players for top half teams like Southampton, Swansea and West Ham. Players like Payet, Ayew and Pelle are likely to be much more consistent than players like Cazorla, Ozil and Walcott.

Perhaps. But arsenal will score more goals than West ham.

True but there goals were spread across the whole squad last year.

Possibly applicable to arsenal. Not to Yaya and Silva though as city can score fours and fives

Yeah Silva and cazorla were awful options last year 😉 fabregas and hazard too

Ox, Walcott and Ozil were in poor form for most of the season so Cazorla was an easy choice. Not anymore. Its not applicable to Chelsea.

Sanchez? Ramsey and ozil had their moments. It is ridiculous to argue that midfielders from worse teams are universally better picks than those from city and arsenal.
