Leicester’s two-goal hero, Man City and Southampton’s chief creators, Swansea’s improved goal threat and an eye-catching cameo from Arsenal’s Chilean all come under analysis.

Ugh I keep mocking up my next 3 transfers to be:

    Hazard -> Silva
    Wally -> Ozil
    Lens -> Eriksen

Then I look at Tottenham's fixtures and don't know if I wasnt Eriksen until GW10

Rather him than Ozil. Stick him in and leave him. Good pick.

      Losing Lens? Not so sure.

That's a good point, Arsenal have tricky games almost every other game until November. It just feels weird without an Arsenal attacking option at all. They're usually quite nicely under priced somewhere.

I'll be running with no Arsenal for a while unless I get Sanchez. And that's less likely as my plans stand.

Have Kos, Darmian, Gomez and Cedric. Benching Cedric. Seems weird, but I think it's the right move.

I have the same back 4 except Ivan instead of Darmian and am finding it tough to decide too. Cedric is currently on my bench but am tempted to start him over Ivan.
      It's tough to choose though

Cedric v Ivan, better chance of a clean sheet, less chance of attacking returns. the likelihood is that neither will get a CS, though. Soton currently have Yoshida in the mix...

    Bottomed out apologies for repost

IBE - Have him as my only Liverpool attacking coverage and a juicy home game against Bournemouth is tempting me to insert into my starting 11.

Is there anyone out of my current front 7 that can make way for him this GW only or could he be rotated for Firmino?

    Hazard Wally Sterling Mahrez
    Defoe Rooney Pelle

Arsenal news. I think Ramsey could be dropped. Don't think Sanchez will play. Been visiting their forum a lot.

Ramsey is surely the most threatened by Sanchez' return. He's not a wide player, Oxlade is (and is in good form).

That would be typical Wenger. Drop your only DM to shoe-horn the favoured ones into the team. But I think he may have learned the error of his ways now. Chelsea 6-1 Arsenal 18 months back (when he also played without a DM) taught him a big lesson I think.

            • 12 Years
            10 years, 11 months ago

We used it a few times successfully last season, but only against poor teams at home who didn't have anyone creative to trouble us. Coq will have his hands full with Puncheon or Cabaye this game though.

            Not wrong.

As a Ramsey owner, I'm definitely concerned about his playing time against Palace.

          • 12 Years
          10 years, 11 months ago

That'd be an option at home but I don't think Wenger would take such an open side on the road.

Oxlade was responsible for giving away a goal, his defence is shocking and he will be benched, Ramsey maybe too

Was one of their best players attacking wise though. Only one who looked interested. Won't be benched. None of the gunners seem to think so either. Been on their forums.

"He will be benched" is a pretty definitive assertion.

Wouldn't rather express your thoughts as opinions rather than facts? Or do your opinions automatically assume the status of facts because...they are your opinions and you can't be wrong?

Wenger doesn't like playing two proper wingers though. He says it's not balanced. I think that was his argument for playing Podolski LW all the time.

One of the posters(arsenal fan) had a genuinely good post about what Sanchez has done so far this summer. He's hardly had any rest and they can't afford a Sanchez burnout this season again.

I'm all for getting Sanchez. But i'll get him when he's played 90.

        Dead set on Kane.

He looked sharpish when he got the ball against us. And he'll get a lot more in the next one.

Plus he's just more used to playing with his teammates compared to Tekkers.

In reality though, at 5.5M he doesn't need to be scoring double digits to be good value or a strong team member. If he were to chip with a single goal or assist in each game (on average) that would be a result, and net him about 5/8 points a game.

Not guaranteeing he'll do that by the way, but I think people are setting the benchmark too high when they argue, "he won't get 15 every week". Nor will Aguero.

Interested to know what you guys think of these two options:

A: Sanchez, Hazard, Aguero + Sinclair and Milner

B: Sanchez, Walcott, Oscar, Toure, Rooney

I had been all set on the 3 big hitters and two budget players but seeing as I can squeeze in 4 solid mids and Rooney (who I think will be very strong this year despite poor start) I'm tempted to sway.

Gives a few fixtures out for minor injuries or resting. I don't see any attacking Arsenal player playing 36+ games.

      • 12 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

In all honestly we have at least 20 different front 6 combinations maybe more and once Sanchez is starting he's the big constant with Ozil following shortly behind. I'm gonna ditch Wally after this week and be done with it until ~gw9 when our fixtures properly turn and I've had a couple of months to assess. Also by then we'll like have injuries and an easier option. I can't get a balance with Haz/Sanch/Aguero that I like at the moment so I wont be rushing Sanchez in yet either.

Ok so my transfers over the next two weeks are likely to be:

    Walcott > Lens
    Rooney > Aguero

Taking that into consideration, in GW2:

    Wally vs Palace(A)
    Lens vs Norwich(H)

Do I make the transfer from Wally to Lens this week or just save and do the double swap for GW3?

Sometimes you're right to avoid a bandwagon, but it's not the right call just on the basis that it's a bandwagon.

cheers, its disappointing he's classed as a mid.

He is a class act who has had bad injuries. With Distan and Piennar gone or crocked, he may play midfield and galloway sitting back. Del boy when playing, Oviedio will drop back IMO.

Why are you limiting yourself to those 2 options?

I did. I think Ayew could be a good option.

If Walcott falls before deadline Im 0,1 from doing Rooney -> Aguero.
Would you do Walcott -> Ayew today?

    Ruddy Rudd
    Coates Jenko Cedric Huth Saylor
    Hazard Mane Depay Özil Walcott
    Rooney Sakho Wilson

    0,5 itb.

If you're set on Ayew there dont risk it. But I'd advise there are better options cheaper.

Mahrez or Lens or Ox if you're really brave

            Lens and Ox better options?!

            Ayew serious?

              • 12 Years
              10 years, 11 months ago

eh. Lens because he's cheaper and I don't rate Ayew yet. Ox, well imagine if he was nailed, I know he's not but if I thought he'd even get 4 consecutive starts I'd whack him in.

You don't rate Ayew _yet_, but you do rate Lens? Well, to each his own, I guess.

Lens has 8 seasons of quality output behind him. Ayew has 5 seasons of okay output behind him and two shots in the box vs Chelsea from the same sequence of play.

I did the same transfer for the same reason. I think Walcott will fall before the deadline and even if he doesn't he'll fall before you get to see him play on Sunday. I just couldn't see the advantage in waiting when Ayew has a better fixture and it was a transfer I was going to make next wk anyway.

Yeah, I guess you are right.
Ayew seems like the real deal. And Walcott not so much.

Say you had £1.5m spare floating about, would you consider 4.5m mid -> Ox and put him in your starting line up in case he played?

      • 12 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

with the caveat that you have another good mid on the bench who can come on if he doesn't play.

No there's not. There's only one... "the club Man Utd have beaten most"... How can there be multiple answers to that?

I would say, though, that stat is skewed by the longevity of each club in the top flight, but how long in recent times Aston Villa have been average in that top flight. Many average teams have probably been relegated at points and returned

    c. Montero
    d. shelvey

    Might just pick straws!

The extra cash could come in handy when I want to bring in kun or sanchez in the next few gws. Which is why I thought of shelvey. I could bring in Ayew or Hendo at 7m but wont free up any cash for later. That's my dilemma.
