We turn our attentions to Fantasy Bet this evening as I continue my quest to turn my £100 pot into profit.

For those unfamiliar, the initial player prices and scoring system in Fantasy Bet are very similar to Fantasy Premier League, making it an accessible weekly and daily format for those who pay a lot of attention to the official game.

This week in Fantasy Bet there is a Fantasy Football Scout league with an impressive £500 guaranteed pot on offer for a rather reasonable entry fee of only £0.55. This league covers all ten fixtures and I will be entering a Scout Picks team into the mix. There’s also a £100 free-roll available – I’ve gone 3-5-2 here and stocked up on midfielders mentioned in the Weekly Shop article, with Memphis Depay, Yohan Cabaye and Nathan Redmond all finding a spot alongside in-form Dimitri Payet and Riyad Mahrez.

The Bottom Line

Before I explain the competitions I’ll be entering this week in Fantasy Bet, I recap here how I got on over the previous set of fixtures. A disappointing start last week to my Fantasy Bet season was mainly down to being a single point off the money in the Saturday DoubleUp, narrowly losing out in 5th place. An extra point in that game would likely have kicked the challenge off with a positive balance, however the £7.70 stake was still offset by £4.75 of winnings, leaving me only £2.95 down for the week. Even a position of 134th in the Freeroll game provided some winnings, granted it was only £0.55 but it shows even an average result can bring rewards.

This Week’s Stake

Weekly games – For £0.55 I’ve entered the Scout Picks into the FFScout £500 GTD league, though there are some alterations due to budget and I also pick a captain.

I’ve also entered a team into the £100 Freeroll and another into the £50 Flash Freeroll game, this format requires the competitor to pick their team within 3 minutes – any gaps left are then filled with auto-complete.

I’ve also parted with £1.10 to enter a Head to Head contest with two other players – this is a Winner Takes All game.

Daily games – After coming so close to the money places last week I’ll also be entering the Saturday DoubleUp once again, this contest costs £3.30 to enter.

Total Stake: £4.95

FFScout League

As mentioned, Fantasy Bet have now made the opportunity for the community to take on the scout picks much more enticing with a £500 guaranteed pot this week. With only a £0.55 entry fee required to have a shot at beating the scouts, the winner’s team will be posted here in the next article.

Bateman’s team won last week with an excellent score of 69 points, Dimitri Payet, Nathaniel Clyne, Sergio Romero and his captain Christian Benteke all bringing in 8 or more points each. Fantasy Football Scout’s Mark managed a very respectable second place finished with 64 points.

Don't be fooled by Ighalo's price, I reckon he will outscore the likes of Diouf and Sakho 🙂

Interesting. Averaging 5.89 shots per 90mins (almost double Gomis or Diouf). Did that against Everton and WBA too.

You make a very valid point 🙂

thank you! but i think targett will drop to bench when bertrand returns which is soon?

browning is a placeholder of 4.0 which is against everything i believe in cos i normally have a playing bench! but will keep an eye out for cheapies - browning price wont drop as he has low ownership so i dont have to worry about that annoying price drop from 4.0 - > 3.9

I'm thinking Gomez to Sagna --> cheap way to man city defence

Pelle --> lukaku - if pelle cant score against watford he's out! or should i just get rid now?

A better chip than the 'All out attack' would have been the option to purchase ONE player at their original purchase price at any point in the season.

    In my opinion.

You should probably keep your Kane differential. Who could you get in a straight-swap for Hendo? i.e. who don't you already have...Mahrez, Chadli perhaps? Or you could take a punt on Shelvey, or Shaqiri. Just some thoughts.

Maybe not Chadli as that'd be a Spurs double up.

    Thoughts on this WC team?

    McCarthy
    Jenkinson, Williams, Shaw
    Willian, Mata, Sanchez, Payet
    Aguero, Diouf, Gomis

    Subs: Hart, Sagna, Targett, Obertan

Struggling to see how I can top this: Willian looks best-valued Chelsea player, even a bit of a bargain. Not sure whether Mata/Aguero or Silva/Rooney. Not sure about Chadli either. Rest am quite happy with. Thoughts?

I wouldn't put Willian in there, he might be gone by the end of the transfer window

Already have 3 man city players including Aguero. Really can't decide between Aguero or Silva but would prefer to cover more teams?

Look very good except Willian. You spent so much on Hart and yet you bench him. Lukaku might explode so it's up to you. But I won't dare to bench Hart.

Willian is the only Chelsea player worth his value atm to me. Fabregas, Hazard, Costa all too expensive. So best moving Willian to someone else?

Hart will play every game besides this one, Crystal Palace have Aston villa which I think will be an easy clean sheet

    Ruddy-Butland

    Williams-Clyne-Cedric-Richards-Oxford

    Benteke-Aguero-Gomis

    Thanks in advance.

    How does this look?

    Butland
Kolorov - Sagna - Gomez- Richards- Ward
    Depay - Hazard - Sanchez - Mahrez - Hoolahan
    Aguero - Gomes - Ighalo

Like it D. Double whammy City at the back.

Sure you don't wanna downgrade Hooligan and keep some moneys in the bank for when Gomez gets dropped?

It is tempting. But I think I might go back to my more template team. The Richards/Ward pair is there in case he gets dropped an plenty of 4.5 replacements.

Not sure i like it i'm afraid Demel.

Hoolahan - good start and a good player, but got rotated a lot last year (and Neil hinted he might do the same this year)

Ighalo - don't know much about him, but if you'er happy to trust him for Watford's easier games then maybe ok. Seems risky tho

Think you need a MCY mid for GW 4-12. Means losing Sagna i guess.

        I think you are right.

Kolorov, Ighalo, Hazard > Darmian, Diouf, Silva is my likely line up.
