He barely got a proper touch aside from his assist, Palace were very good defensively but like the full team, we was poor, again! At £9.5m, I'd rather him than Hazard/Costa though if you was pondering the idea. I think he'll be key and I fancy Hazard to be rested/get a reality check if he performs like he did today again v Everton. Kenedy off the bench coming on to play full back when he's a winger looked promising though.

Ah whoops, misread. What do you think Jose sees in Ivanovic that everyone else doesn't, and why he's even gone as far as to make him vice captain? Will he be dropped iyo?

            • 11 Years
            10 years, 7 months ago

God knows, his goal threat/assists kept him in the team last year, he's always been rubbish defensively and I think Willian, Ramires etc has saved him numerous times covering back when he's been caught out of position, he'll go for a free next year I'm sure of it, especially if he performs like he has for four straight weeks now. As for him being dropped, it's a must. After the game Mourinho mentioned he shouldn't of let a player play 90 minutes, that player was quite clearly him. Baba will be fit after international break, straight into LB, Azpil back to his proper position of RB and we'll already look better defensively.

Nobody, honestly. We looked terrible, you'll see the 'clips' on MOTD but it won't tell the full story. Fabregas should've buried a chance if it wasn't for McCarthy, that's about it. Kenedy looked very lively when he came on, I'd be a worried Haz, Willian, Pedro owner going into Everton with Kenedy today and Oscar being back.

Im a chelsea fan who is flowing with rage

      1) am I correct in feeling that Ivan, Cesc, Matic, Willian and Hazard looked like they don't even care?

      2) Do you think Mou can turn this around and fast because the current form is very worrying

      3) is it just me or does willian offer absolutly nothing going forward?

You're hilarious - you're the one that posted that Arsenal were pathetic earlier - it's in your comment history before you deny it. I have a question for you if you don't mind mate:

To answer your first question, I agree. They looked sluggish and fed up. I feel a bit sorry for Matic though, he's literally their alone, playing Fabregas in CM next to him is like playing with 10 men, play Cesc in #10 or not at all. Cheek looked double the player Fabregas was when he came on for Matic. (bit naive to say though it being only 15 minutes)

Honestly? I think he can BUT only if we bring in 1/2 more names for the first team to freshen it up, Stones would walk straight in, I'd like a proper CM to partner Matic but it's unlikely, our pre-season has really f***** us over. Tour to Australlia after winning the league then starting our games late? So stupid.

        3) Willian's useless, he may aswell play fullback.

I agree on the preseason comment. But what has changed from last season in the Matic-Fabregas partnership? I think it has more to do with matic being very poor so far

          1. st4rt__
            • 11 Years
            10 years, 7 months ago

Fabregas mainly played #10 when he was so succesful last season. Xmas time, that's when he dropped off and started playing CM constantly, it's hard to tell. It's a mixture of things, but Matic has been poor I agree. The full squad has, which is why I'm so frustrated, it's a full club problem, not just 1, 2, 3 players.

              • 12 Years

I think this has to do with the drop in quality between our starting XI and the bench being so massive which gave the current first choice XI a sense of security as no one will really push them for a starting spot. This problem is at its worst in the DM positions.

I personally cringe everytime Ramires touches the ball and Cuadrado (before leaving)

Yeah im considering getting pedro before price rises. I saw the west brom game last week and thought he looked great but not so great today by the sounds of things despite getting an assist. Do you think that once oscar is fit again pedro is at risk of rotation as i heard he was lacking in his defensive responsibilites and i know mourinho is not a fan of that?

      1. st4rt__
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 7 months ago

I think Pedro's nailed, he's an actual threat going forward and does the dirty work, unlike Willian that only does the latter. Him and Oscar will fight for #10 IMO. The full team looked poor defensively today, again, so it's hard to tell but Pedro still tracked back.

He's an incredibly trigger-happy player, loves a shot from anywhere, but crucially, he's actually firing them off from great positions at the moment. Seems to be thriving in a better quality team. Whether he can keep his place and maintain this level of performance is another matter though, I agree. The next couple of fixtures are tricky (then again, this week was a tricky fixture), so I suppose it's best to monitor him, before considering him from GW7.

So even with Sterling picking up points the order still stands:

    Silva
    YYT
    Sterling

Nearly home from Anfield. Don't know where to start. West Ham deserved 3 points but I don't think they were particularly brilliant. We were honestly that bad. Rodgers way out of his depth yet again. Lovren is sh*te.

Wait till you see lovren losing the ball on the touch line again.

Sanchez is expensive and not delivering the points, is it time to ditch for Pedro?

    How did he look today?

      Nothing he "should" have scored.

Fashioned 1 shot from distance spilled by Krul and a snap shot from 6 yards well saved by Krul.

Did a lot of walking and sudden bursts drawing fouls

Hard to judge arsenal. Mitrovic ruined the game

Mitrovic has had an "interesting" start to his Geordie career hasn't he?

I'm thinking the same thing, might bring in Sako alongside him also as a budget mid. Can't decide if he will play every week when Bolasie is back, but numbers are impressive.

    My current mid-attack is:
    Sanchez - Silva - Payet - Ayew - Mahrez
    Aguero - Gomis - Kone(bench)
    2FT 0 ITB

    A) Payet, Ayew, Kone(3rd on bench) -> Pedro, Wilson, Westwood(3rd bench) for -4
    B) Sanchez, Kone -> Pedro, Wilson. Would give me 1m ITB.
