Hey IT...read your WC dilemma the other day. Team value forced my hand too...as well as potential injury worries (Mane/Sakho etc).

Typically i sold Ayew, Mane and Sakho on WC and replaced with 1point Mahrez! Prob lost c12 points on the week and obvi my WC, but i've stablised my value (for now!) and feel my team's a bit better set up (Man City etc).

Having to use one by Dec 31st also a factor.

Think you've done the right thing for what it's worth - but as my Ayew transfer show...be patient if you can!

Just because we didn't sign any outfield players, doesn't mean that there were any available that would have improved the first 11. Wenger doesn't just buy for the sake of buying like other teams do.

It's not cockiness. Wenger must have felt that those players wouldn't have significantly improved the team, although I disagree regarding the DMs since Kondogbia and Schneiderlin would have been great signings. Up front, arguably there's been no one of note available and we wouldn't spend for the sake of spending. So while it hasn't been the best of windows, we certainly have not had the worst window out of all the clubs, where some have actually worsened as a result of their signings.

I reckon Ayew will be a flash on the pan. His record suggests he isn't top rate. Obviously hard to back that up whilst he's on top form, but we shall see. Of course you can't argue with a free transfer.

Best signing might end up being Sterling. Very young but really adds something to city with his pace. Could even become FPL gold if he develops his finishing...

Hard to say that any of those are bad yet. Schweinsteiger is United's best midfielder if he can stay fit. Ottamendi hasn't even played yet but gives them quality cover, and will likely end up starting ahead of mangala. Mitrovic looks really talented and ready for the league physically-he just needs to calm down. And Coates wasn't exactly big money. He looked good last year for them and has age on his side.

        You don't? Hmm
TBH I don't either, I think Mourinho's response will be a few 1-0 and 2-0 to bring them to the top 4 in a few weeks time.
Whoever isn't performing is an easy downgrade to Sanchez/Silva/KDB or anyone else performing well.

In regards to the captain choice, you would captain Ayew/Wilson over Haz/Aguero/Pedro?
        Interesting...

        VAN GAAL ON MARTIAL

Some more quotes from Manchester United's website from manager Louis van Gaal on the signing of Anthony Martial...

"Anthony is a naturally talented, young, multi-functional forward with great potential. We have been watching him for a while now and he has developed immensely during his time at AS Monaco.

"I am delighted he has joined Manchester United as I believe this is the right club for him to continue his development as a young player. He has all the attributes to become a top football player; however we need to give him time to adjust to his new environment and the rhythm of the Premier League."

From this I see him making many bench appearances this season

Will need to be a guaranteed starter to be worth that outlay.

With Mata + Memphis + Rooney in the team, not going to be on any setpieces that's for sure.

Have doubts over him as a FPL option though as he 'may' be classified a forward I feel, yet he played frequently from a wide position for Leverkusen...

Does he score enough. Now he has gylfi AND ayew ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. Not to mention Rutledge and Ki

All of the CBs are right footed bar Olsson.

      IMO, Chester/Dawson - McAuley - Evans - Brunt
