With the first international break of the season now upon us and the transfer window finally shut, we take time out to delve into the Members data this evening. In the first of a three-part series, we assess the players by position and pick out the most pertinent stats over the opening four rounds of fixtures.
-
Ok, he's taking Rooney's place, but did they have to give him his shirt as well?
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Sep/manchester-united-confirm-the-signing-of-anthony-martial-from-as-monaco.aspx?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=ManUtd-
What shirt was they supposed to give him?
-
Maybe his size?
-
Maybe his number of goals scored in the last 2 seasons.
-
-
-
He will play on the right wing and mata as the no10
-
-
Any comments on this wildcard team please.....and do I go for naughton or Williams?
Schmeichal McCarthy
Kolarov naughton Evans ward Francis
Pedro Silva Sanchez mahrez Westwood
Kun Wilson gomis
How does that look?-
Coin flip there, hard to say who will get more points...
-
Williams more nailed surely......
-
-
-
On Wc. And bought Gomez at 4.5. Think worth keeping ?
-
He looks like a starter, no reason to get rid!
-
yes
-
Certainly
-
yeah keep him. moreno looks like he's more suited to LM position, he cant defend.
-
Gomez can't attack.
-
he doesnt need to.. he's playing LB
-
Says someone without access to any stats.
-
-
-
Yes def
-
Yes but Beware of his suspension potential.
-
-
Depay to Pedro now or wait few gw to do Depay to Hazard if he hits form?
-
pedro
-
Pedro
-
Pedro now then can flip to hazard later if needs be
-
So no one thinks I should keep Depay? 😀
-
Nope.
-
Hey IT...read your WC dilemma the other day. Team value forced my hand too...as well as potential injury worries (Mane/Sakho etc).
Typically i sold Ayew, Mane and Sakho on WC and replaced with 1point Mahrez! Prob lost c12 points on the week and obvi my WC, but i've stablised my value (for now!) and feel my team's a bit better set up (Man City etc).
Having to use one by Dec 31st also a factor.
Think you've done the right thing for what it's worth - but as my Ayew transfer show...be patient if you can!
-
-
-
-
-
Which team had the best and worst transfer window? A lot of awful value-for-money transfers yet again, by the usual suspects.
-
City/Arsenal
-
Arsenal didn't try to buy anyone
-
Arsenal havent improved but havent deteriorated like some of the clubs
-
-
Nonsense regarding Arsenal.
-
why?
-
Just because we didn't sign any outfield players, doesn't mean that there were any available that would have improved the first 11. Wenger doesn't just buy for the sake of buying like other teams do.
-
There were loads of signings that would have improved Arsenal, its just they waited too long to make them
-
Name a few.
-
Jackson Martinez, Kondogbia, Schneiderlin.. are you really that cocky?
-
It's not cockiness. Wenger must have felt that those players wouldn't have significantly improved the team, although I disagree regarding the DMs since Kondogbia and Schneiderlin would have been great signings. Up front, arguably there's been no one of note available and we wouldn't spend for the sake of spending. So while it hasn't been the best of windows, we certainly have not had the worst window out of all the clubs, where some have actually worsened as a result of their signings.
-
Chelsea's is probably worse
-
-
All of them are dmfs. Very debatable that arsenal even needed one
Certianly not based on the defensive record since coqs retu r-
Martinez isn't, but I see your point
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Not nonsense at all but not necessarily the worst window for them.
-
-
-
city
sunderland-
Oh actually Sunderland as worst. Their defence is shocking
-
-
City then liverpool.
-
Worst...norwich
-
-
Best: west ham
Worst: chelsea-
Agree with West Ham. Don't think Chelsea had the worst though, Pedro covers a few cracks.
-
Pedro itself is a good signing but i would say as a team they have deteriorated the most over the summer and part of it is down to not signing reinforcements
-
The same team they won the league with, + pedro, falcao and kennedy
-
-
-
-
City/Chelsea
-
Hard to say until some time has passed. Also depends on a lot of factors, whether it's short/long term. How long for the player to adapt etc...
-
Definitely. But just on the look of things.
-
-
Not sure United had the best window
Arsenal should really have kicked too too
Also don't think Everton did anything of note. But their success was keeping Coleman. Stones. Barkley. Lukaku-
Everton did well to keep a few players
-
Agreed.
-
-
-
-
Best/worst signing this window? However you want to see it.
-
Atm, it's got to be Ayew.
-
So far, Ayew seems the best.
-
I reckon Ayew will be a flash on the pan. His record suggests he isn't top rate. Obviously hard to back that up whilst he's on top form, but we shall see. Of course you can't argue with a free transfer.
Best signing might end up being Sterling. Very young but really adds something to city with his pace. Could even become FPL gold if he develops his finishing...
-
-
Good.... Ayew. Cabaye. Clyne. Milner. Darmian. Pedro. Lens.
Bad.... Schweini. Ottamendi. Mitrovic. Coates-
Otamendi hasn't even played yet!
-
I know. But judging it purely as 32m I don't think they needed to spend.
-
-
Happen to agree with you. Bar Mitrovic.
-
Milner hasn't performed half as well as Liverpool fans would have hoped given his standard of cameos at City..
-
He was reasonable in first two games and excellent at arsenal. So judging him as a free he is good
-
-
Hard to say that any of those are bad yet. Schweinsteiger is United's best midfielder if he can stay fit. Ottamendi hasn't even played yet but gives them quality cover, and will likely end up starting ahead of mangala. Mitrovic looks really talented and ready for the league physically-he just needs to calm down. And Coates wasn't exactly big money. He looked good last year for them and has age on his side.
-
-
Worst has to be Antonio because I follow Forest lol.
-
*Best 😉
-
Haha! He's a good player though. When I watched the Brighton game I thought he may end up in the PL.
-
-
-
Gestede, Sako, Ayew.
-
Best = Cech
Worst = Michael Hector.-
Hector's gone back out to Reading so pls, don't be silly. Far from the worst.
-
He is 23 and has played championship football for most of his career. Whats the point
-
This. Complete waste of 4m
-
Doubt it matters to roman anyway though
-
-
-
-
-
KDB/Martial
-
None of them have even played...
-
-
The worst is definitely kaboul by a fair margine
Best probabaly shcniderlain -
Best: ayew
Worst: kaboul -
Worst are chelseas signings today
-
Worst: De Gea.
-
What year do you live in?
-
-
Best has to be Ayew
Didnt they get him on a free
-
-
Quite curious, who's on your Watchlist atm? I've currently got - Ayew, Jonjo, Puncheon, Sako, KdB, Mbokani, Son and van Dijk.
-
I never use the watch list lol
-
Anybody you're considering then?
-
Ayew and KDB 🙂
-
What's your midfield at mate and have you WC'd? Interested because I too haven't got Ayew, yet...
-
Currently
Silva Mane Chadli Albrighton 4.5.
With £6m in the bank. Planning Albrighton to Sanchez/Pedro. Then Mane to Ayew-
Haven't wildcarded btw
-
-
-
-
-
-
Tell me about Mbokani
-
Not entirely sure tbh, quite interested how he'll do. A reasonable scoring record, especially at Anderlecht.
-
-
Sanchez, Pedro, Sterling, Coutinho, Sako, Moses, Evans.
-
Wilson, Son, Shaqiri, Sanchez. Should probably look at def more.
-
-
Do you think Wilson has had his day now that Murray has joined Bournemouth
-
No
-
no he's fine
-
Why would that be the case?
-
Nooooo. Very different players. Murray could even help Wilson.
-
He has just scored 4 goals in his last 2 games
-
Nope. Think together they will keep them up.
-
-
Pedro-Hazard-Ayew-Chadli
Aguero-Pelle-Wilson
Front 7^ and just roughly looking at who to captain.
So I'm asking all of you 🙂
Who would you recommend to put the armband around?
1) Aguero
2) Pedro
3) Ayew
4) Wilson
5) Hazard-
The main man himself is missing....San(c)hez
-
I have money to bring him for Pedro but he's looking really good.
Hazard better perform, Mourinho has said he's out of form and not afraid to bench him if need be. Also compared to the best in the world. It's his time.
How do you recommend bring this 'main man' in my team?-
Haz -> Sanchez simple, Pedro is enough and plays in a more advanced position than hazard.
-
-
-
3 or 4
Also dont like double Chelsea mids-
You don't? Hmm
TBH I don't either, I think Mourinho's response will be a few 1-0 and 2-0 to bring them to the top 4 in a few weeks time.
Whoever isn't performing is an easy downgrade to Sanchez/Silva/KDB or anyone else performing well.
In regards to the captain choice, you would captain Ayew/Wilson over Haz/Aguero/Pedro?
Interesting...-
Yes. I think palace can put up a fight. Though I'm just worried by Watford defensive home record. Currently between ayew and Wilson myself
-
Interesting,
Cheers
-
-
-
-
-
Hmmm I see Martial priced at 8.0. Could be an interesting pick!
-
Will he actually play much ?
-
We shall see! That is the question, does he fit the Filosofee...LOL
-
Even if he does play, can he cut it?
-
Very doubtful, youth does seem to bring goals in bunches in the beginning....always drys up eventually though!
-
-
Pffft...Filosophee....What a con man he is...
-
-
i can see him playing on the sides tbh. Mata/Depay/Martial. (not in order)
-
VAN GAAL ON MARTIAL
Some more quotes from Manchester United's website from manager Louis van Gaal on the signing of Anthony Martial...
"Anthony is a naturally talented, young, multi-functional forward with great potential. We have been watching him for a while now and he has developed immensely during his time at AS Monaco.
"I am delighted he has joined Manchester United as I believe this is the right club for him to continue his development as a young player. He has all the attributes to become a top football player; however we need to give him time to adjust to his new environment and the rhythm of the Premier League."
From this I see him making many bench appearances this season
-
-
Even Origi scored more goals than him.. 🙂
-
Will need to be a guaranteed starter to be worth that outlay.
With Mata + Memphis + Rooney in the team, not going to be on any setpieces that's for sure. -
I've a feeling he'll be an utter shambles of a signing... He wasn't exactly setting ligue 1 alight & now has a massive pressure on his shoulders... Panic buy?
-
Totally this.
No idea why United didn't go for lacazette instead.
-
-
-
is jurado best of the watford mids? is he nailed?
draft game (late rounds!)-
He is the best and seems nailed
-
-
Jonny evans to be in top 5 defs by end of year 🙂
What a bargain he'll be at 4.8
Evans, cedric, sagna, joegomez very nice cheap points sclring defence it looks like, all four for sub 19.5-
No not really, he probably won't even start. James Chester for 12 Mill isn't even a regular.
-
Dunno about Evans finishing that high.
-
-
Anyone know if muniesa is nailed at stoke even when shawcross is fit?......
Currently have ward and McCarthy on wildcard but unlikely to ever play the 2 of them together.....-
Same boat but I will hardly ever play McCarthy so ward is fine for me
-
Who is your other keeper?
-
At the moment Romero. But will keep an eye on that
On wildcard.
-
-
-
-
Who was the most overpriced signing this transfer window?
-
Martial
-
Still Sterling tbh, or maybe di Maria
-
Martial
-
Depay.
-
Can't choose between Sterling Martial KDB. Waaay overpriced. KDB most likely to justify his £, if any of them do.
-
In the long term sterling will easily justify his tag
-
Just because he's young? Time will tell. I don't think he'll justify the 49m.
-
-
-
Benteke
-
The thing about other singings is they all have potential. Benteke is just 1 dimensional player in my eyes who needs a certain style to prosper. Too big in size to be movile enough
-
Disagree
Benteke proven scorer. And I believe he will look better once playing with sturridge-
If they wanted just goals they could have got austin for a lot cheaper. Dont think he will do well with sturridge either
-
-
He's 24 don't forget..
-
His problems wont go away with age. Pace, mobility...
-
His technical ability and awareness could well improve
-
Think those two are almost at their peaks for him. Just reckon he is not the type of player that should cost you more than 20m
-
I also think he was overpriced tbh
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Mateo Kovacic
-
Sterling or Martial. But to be fair i've never seen Martial, and the guy could actually be decent!
-
I don't think anyone has ever seen him
-
-
Sterling, Mitrovic
-
Sterling/martial
Maybe KDB and Otamendi, but only time will tell there -
Eder...7M really?
-
-
Pedro better bloody rise tonight 😡
-
And then again soon.
-
-
Martial at 8.0 is a good price?
-
Would certainly need to wait to see if he is sure start every game or not first. But i would say 7.5 - 8 could be a decent price.
-
Maximum 7.5 I would have thought
-
Possible starting striker at United 7.5?
-
-
-
Surprised nobody signed Berbatov
-
Would be good for a Championship side.
-
Yep. Someone like Chelsea.
-
*arsenal
-
-
-
Boxing day is ruined ðŸ™
-
I think its more that Berbatov cant be bothered to play anymore
-
-
what do we think of jose Enrique?
-
Not sure. He hasn't played much at all so my gut feeling is he may not even start for a week or three.
-
My comment would get removed if I typed what I think of him.
-
😀
-
-
Would have been lovely if he moved to wba.....but he didn't...
-
he didnt?
-
Did he not ?...crikey...I thought it was a done deal.
-
-
Good at Newcastle
Wasted at Liverpool
Could be a good buy for wba-
He hasn't moved though
-
Really. Wow. Saw a tweet with him in wba colours earlier
-
-
-
Use to be a good FPL pick
-
-
Team of the season so far....
Fabianski
Darmian. Williams. Kompany. Kolarov
Yaya. Coq
Silva. Ayew. Mahrez
Gomis-
Shelvey over Ayew.
-
Possibly. But a front three player needs to score more. At this rate he will score zero and assist zero all year
-
-
gk Howard
-
Yes sorry this
Howard has been a tremendous keeper. Best prem keeper last ten years except cech
-
-
After 4 games. Jesus Christ.
-
What position would he play
-
😀
-
-
To be fair, you've just started a thread minutes ago asking what the signings of the window are, also after 4 games.
-
That's got little to do with what's happened in the season so far. The transfer window closed, people are discussing which club had the best/worst window and made the best/worst signing.
-
Aye, didn't say there was anything wrong with it Berb. 🙂 Just saying....
Asking what the best newcomers are after 4 games is fine but asking what the best performers are after 4 games isn't? What's the difference?
-
-
Yo pug. Son. Tell me about him? Will he succeed?
-
Can comfortably say one of my favourite Bundesliga players of the past two years, so I hope so. 🙂 Amazing work-rate and good finisher with either foot. Have doubts over him as a FPL option though as he 'may' be classified a forward I feel, yet he played frequently from a wide position for Leverkusen...
-
What would you predict for his goals and assists tally this season?
-
-
-
-
-
Coq? Even as an Arsenal fan, that is completely farcical.
-
Thought he was brilliant in last two games. Farcical at palace granted
Can't think of another dm who has performed.
Maybe fernandinho-
Schneiderlin looks superb, part of the reason why United have done well defensively.
-
He has looked decent yes
-
-
-
-
-
Been a while since i seen it this quiet on this site. Is everyone taking a break now it's Internationls?
-
Everyone is currently in the middle of typing up a long ass post about Martial.
-
-
Garry Monk is an exceptional manager. Getting Ayew and Gomis for free and look at them. The tactical changes he makes and Shelvey was also a great signing. I reckon Swansea can do great this year
-
Yeah...very good.
-
Get a room.
-
Dunno
Swansea have been exceptionally run. Like saints. Hard to judge individual managers
You have to really praise the ownership of these clubs more than anything -
Aren't they more Swansea signings than Monk's
-
-
That was some of the best stuff I've smoked.
-
good kippers?
-
-
Berahino has thrown the toys out of the pram
-
Not looking good is it.....
-
Was promised a move this summer apparently.
-
That might've been the case but I don't think WBA where going to let him go on the cheap they wanted whatever they had valued him at which obviously Spurs weren't offering
-
22m is what Berahino is probably worth. I guess with the fees of Sterling Martial etc, WBA felt they were entitled to more
-
Apparently Spurs came in to start with a 5m up front bid and rest in instalments. Wouldn't surprise me if they never got near the 25M~ or similar that WBA wanted
-
That's a bit of an insult to WBA and Berahino
-
Probably sensible from spurs, he's a massive gamble at 25m. However once they knew the price and demands, they should either meet it or forget it. No winners really from today's mess!
-
-
-
-
If club matched his valuation
Another selfish player
-
-
SurprIsed they turned down 23m (as reported). It's a lot for a 22 year old with only one good season under his belt, even in today's market.
I could imagine that levy is a nightmare to deal with though, from whatI read anyway.-
One good half-season, and presumably not fitting well in the new manager's tactics. Although, maybe this suggests that Pulis actually wants to keep him.
-
See Andy above
Spurs offered next to nothing up front
-
-
-
How is everyone's TV and SV doing?
Mine
TV = 103.1m
SV = 101.3m-
Have you Wc'ed? OR rank?
Mine's not looking to good,
TV= 100.5
SV= 100.1-
WC wk 2 no hits taken
OR = 168k
-
-
-
Swancea or wba defender I cant decide
-
Wba
-
swans
-
Whichever rotates well with the rest of your defense
-
-
Is there any Sako love in here ? (the crystal palace one)
Just got him on my WC, to rotate with Gomis/Wilson/Mahrez. -
Looking very closely at Shelvey. Only a matter of time before hes in my team, at this rate. Anyone done any convincing analysis?
-
Does he score enough. Now he has gylfi AND ayew ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. Not to mention Rutledge and Ki
-
I just sold him after two games
Struggled to see when I would trust him to play over others-
fair enough. it's a different story owning someone to browsing. how you getting on so far?
-
-
-
what are the predictions for Wbrom back four long term? dawson - chester - evans - brunt? olsson and mccauley to bench? any one know anything about what foot they all are for that whole left centre back right centre back carry on?
-
All of the CBs are right footed bar Olsson.
IMO, Chester/Dawson - McAuley - Evans - Brunt-
so olsson the only left but just not good enough to keep a spot?
-
mcauley is like 35 right? evans got enough pace to cover the old fulla?
-
-
-
Pelle ---> Wilson FT
The next 4 fixtures have varying difficulty for them
wba, MUN, SWA, che
nor, SUN, stk, WAT-
do it
-
-
Chadli or Sako regardless of price?
-
Chadli
-
