          No it is not. There's been a feckton of more impressive bicycle kicks in derbies and in bigger matches (such as CL or World Cup knock outs) and yet the English media went hyperbolic talking about the best bicycle kick of all history. The English part is the important one, really.

              There were polls on English journals websites on whether it was the best bicycle kick of all history, and I think in some people even managed to get the 'yes' side win it. So yes, many actually did say.

        I'm not really sure what people are looking for?

        Yeah Rooney's came off his shin, but christ it's an overhead into the top corner from 12-15 yards out - still an incredible goal. If it was Ronaldo would there be questions about it being great?

        People just need to enjoy the game and the great goals and get over themselves.

          Someone should do an analysis of the top 1m in FPL - how many are dead teams, how many have used each chip, how many are in their first season, how many have never finished top 20k before, etc. to make us all feel better that we can improve.

          I would upvote it - surely worth the hours of analysis?
