As always, we delve into the Gameweek 5 data in our first members article of the week. Arsenal’s midfield and Leicester’s form pair arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over Everton and West Ham’s playmakers after both guided their respective sides to victory.
-
Vardy only scored 5 goals all last season but has 3 already this time round. Has his output improved that much or is it just because they've had some kinds fixtures so far?
-
Felt like he scored more than 5 last season... Wow
-
He hit form late on last season and became more of a first cjhoice as well. He seems to have just continued on from there. It does sometimes take lower league forwards time to settle in.
-
2 FT. redmond&watmore to sinclair&vardy?
-
I like Vardy but I also like Redmond. Not sure
-
you think redmond can match vardy points over a season? (would mean switching from 352 to 343) - I'm doubtful
-
No he can't. But having both would be nice. Vardy is the superior of the 2.
-
any thoughts on sinclair? worth the .5 extra over wanyama etc?
-
I do like Sinclair and I think he is worth the extra over Wanyama. With the CL coming on there will be more rotation now and you will want your bench to have more potential.
-
do you think he's nailed on? villa seem to have a few options in similar positions this season - sherwood known for rotation at all?
-
No he isn't. But when he is on he does ok
-
I'm starting to think that having attacking fullbacks like cedric or francis on the bench is just as good CL cover as a scoring 5th mid
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
I don't think Sinclair is a good move.
-
how come diva - gametime or output doubts? just grab a 4.4 bench fodder you reckon?
-
That one game aside, Sinclair is not looking much better than bench fodder to me so you might as well save some money there if this is for the fifth midfielder.
-
mmm tempting as this would allow me to upgrade a 4.5 defender to a 5 (cedric or dawson?) down the track
-
-
-
-
-
-
Vardy's confidence is sky high right now, and mahrez is the catalyst of it all, so I'd say he has improved quite a bit.
-
You can pretty much write off 75% of last season. Last 10 games are a better indicator.
-
think vardy can match gomis near enough for 1.4mil cheaper?
-
Im sure u have Mahrez and the double up might be a bit over reliant
-
why not double up on the form teams?
-
Because when the form runs out, you have to players blanking for fun
-
if vardy scores or assists over the next few games can see his price rising steadily
-
So don't buy form players is the conclusion
-
hah I'm happy to load up on city and leicester for now
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Leic have improved and no team looks better and hungrier when attacking atm.
-
His name is Mahrez
-
-
Ideas on this lot?
Ruddy Rudd
Kolarov Cédric Morgan Coates Gomez
Mahrez Silva Sánchez Ritchie Westwood
Agüero Benteke Wilson
1 FT, £2.9m in the bank.
Would like to save then perhaps take a hit next GW.
Cheers for any ideas. Using the WC isn't an option this GW at least.-
Save on that, looks good. The only thing i'd do is up Ritchie to Ayew
-
Ritchie and a defender/GK likely to be 2 of those transfers.
-
Yeh. Get Ayew and Myhill.
-
-
-
If you have no plans to use bank money, maybe another Gk?
But if u do, its no biggy-
Hate the GKs, might be worth a hit whenever if I don't WC soon.
-
I wouldn't worry about it if u can get ur WC in pretty soon!
-
-
-
Ruddy to Myhill or Gomes
-
Coates -> Dawson
-
I agree with this .
-
If Gomez is dropped then this could work.
-
-
Not a fan of the Bournemouth double up. Would ship Ritchie this week or the next.
-
Last chance for Ritchie vs SUN. He has been a pain.
Sold Ayew for Silva instead of Ritchie for someone cheaper which has cost enough points. 🙁
-
-
I think I would be looking at Ritchie. There are quite a few options at just a little more cost than him. Many would suggest Payet but the Man City defence has been good so far. Hmm not sure who is best.
-
Last legs for Ritchie.
-
-
The defence looks messy but I think you can save, you have 3 good defenders this week if Gomez plays and no point selling Ritchie before Sunderland
-
and if he doesn't?
-
Hope for a morgan clean sheet? Just think it's better to save and then overhaul the week after, gives more flexibility
-
-
-
WC
-
Read the very last line...
-
It's an amicable suggestion.
-
-
-
Save and overhaul that shite next week.
-
3 transfer idea?
-
Well a few have to go really.
Ruddy/Rudd combo is a road to nowhere. Upgrade one to Myhill.
Coates > Nyom
Ritchie > Ayew/Sako-
Cheers.
-
Actually, if you're doing it next week make that Payet for Ritchie.
-
-
-
-
Surely you don't save a FT and overhaul next week heydudes
-
-
Would do ruddy>butland. You want 3 players in next week?
-
Needs a freshen up for sure. Not too bad this week.
-
-
Cheers all. 🙂
-
Sit tight might be the thing to do but I don't like your gk combo
-
Same
-
-
Rudd to Migs or Myhill.
You need to play the next 5 weeks as if you're wildcarding in week 11 TM -
I would sort out Coates this week.
-
-
Anyone still have their WC, usually play mine in first international break but wasn't needed this season (should have played week before) and with average being so low each week I'm trying to limp along until the next break (after GW 8) when fixtures improve for some teams plus hopefully some of the so called big guns start firing #hoping
-
Still clinging on to all my chips. Really enjoying this season. I may be alone.
-
😛
P.S. I answered you re: "the snaky" player. 🙂-
Thanks. I guess I am going to hope the sample size is just small and he has only played against relatively tough teams so far. Fingers crossed he could be the next differential
-
-
-
Saving til week 11 then getting treble ups on United, Everton, and probably doubles on Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton.
-
*not Arsenal, I'm chatting breeze there
-
-
Have mine, wish I played it with the herd in GW3.
-
Me too but could be a blessing for us in a way if some of the big hitters start to perform
-
-
Still got mine and I'm sitting at 107k. Mahrez and Ayew carrying my team
-
Still have all chips.
-
-
Who is the best option to replace Richards with? (5.6 Max)
Bellerin and Clyne spring to mind
This is rest of my defence: Kolarov, Darmian, Williams, Prodl-
Clyne
-
Short term
-
-
bellerin and cline seem a bit excessive when the rest of your defence is strong. Id go 4.5 and use the cash up front
-
I second this so Francis or similar
-
None seem that appealing to me
-
-
-
Advice appreciated. 2Ft's and plan to use1 as Huth about to drop in price.
Huth to Dawson or Francis?
Rest of Team defence kis
GK Schmeichel or Butland
Other Defs. Kolarov, Darmian, Gomez and Richards.
Plan GW6 defence: Butland/Kol/Gom (and Dawson or Francis?)
Thanks-
I got in Francis as I wouldn't have played Dawson this week
-
-
What are people doing with Shaw? (Hope he recovers soon btw). I did Darmian>Kolarov a day ago. Rest of my defence looks like Williams, Targett and Richards. Is Targett going to be replaced soon?
-
Shaw has to go by the sounds of things. Bloody shame, gutted for him.
-
really bad luck. feel bad for him, his form was really good.
he'll be out for at least 10-12 months -
Perhaps an Arsenal defender
-
-
Muniesa or Cameron?
-
Neither, too leaky
-
I'd rather plonk Danny Simpson on my bench for the next 33 weeks.
-
Hey Balders, how's it going? When are fixtures out for FFS CL?
-
oops. got you mixed up with jaffalicious. How many entries in the playoffs so far?
-
Haha too many competitions to keep up with? The Playoffs have just reached 290 🙂
-
Good stuff. When's the deadline? Need to increase chances of getting through
-
11:45 Saturday, won't be advertising too much now unless I see regulars about who haven't signed up yet. It'll be nice if qualifying is quite chilled.
-
Yep. Nice to have posters you recognize in these tournaments
-
It is indeed, community tournaments get some of the best chat IMO
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Shaw injured (maybe out the season?)
Kompany injured (slight knock?)
Anyone else injured tonight in CL?-
Pedro has a minor injury too.
-
Oh jeez, it just keeps getting better...
Aguero fit for the weekend at least?-
Fit enough to make the bench
-
Came on off the bench. Flag removed.
Captaincy armband back on him for me. Will wait what Pelle has to say end of this week though, may not be ready for a start still. -
Chelsea and arsenal players to get injured tomorrow to sum it up Aqua
-
-
-
-
huth -----> souare done
-
Speaking purely on a fantasy note, I hope Aguero is crocked again, its boring when everyone has one player and captains him, it takes 17% of the fun away. (I did some maths.)
-
Not if he blanks again and someone else outscores him
-
Then dont captain him and have fun?
-
-
I have Gomis and Ayew
Who would you trade in a similar price range for either one?-
Gomis to Benteke?
-
-
Update on "slow and steady wins the race"
OR
GW1: 2.6m
GW2: 2.58m
GW3: 2.57m
GW4: 2.51m
GW5 :2.3m
May the arrows stay green. What are the odds on 37 green arrows? At this rate quite good I'd say-
Just be careful not to have too good a week at any point, it could hamper your chances later.
-
Thanks. It takes great skill to get a small green arrow 🙂
-
-
I still have my Wildcard and all my chips, I haven't even considered using any of my chips so far, and I have no idea when I will. Same goes for my wildcard, I'm relatively content with my team.
-
At the way this seasons going you could be back more than 2.6m after this weekend (not seen your team just saying)
-
😆 You're half way towards a Reverse Innsie! 🙂
-
I also have no red arrows. I have risen a little higher from it but I would take greens over reds any day of the week.
-
-
Transfer out Hazard or one of bench players as have no bench left. Coates, Bentaleb, S.Taylor. Which out of the 4?
Tempted with either S.Taylor or Coates as thin on ground with defenders. Ended up with 10 players this week as Sterling didn't play either.-
how much money in the bank?
-
£1.2M
-
def get another playing defender - preferably WBA
-
-
-
-
is kompany definitely out?
-
No more news tomorrow hopefully
-
More news tomorrow hopefully
-
-
-
Which one to buy?
A: Dawson
B: Francis
C: Skrtel
WBA have fixtures to play, but I haven't watched them much. So, I'm not sure with Dawson. Francis has involved in attacking more than the others, but CS seem rare for Bournemouth. Liverpool, Skrtel, give me no confidence.-
A
-
A
-
D: ignore the fixtures .. Bellerin
-
-
New 0 Wat 0 __Written all over it
I have 2 defenders in that game and Krul. 🙂-
WBA against any team has 0-0 written all over it. Firmly a Pulis team now.
-
Yep I am all over this. Thinking a Watford defender in for Shaw...get some cash.
-
are watford not attacking or is it because they've had some tricky fixtures? deeney gonna come good? 5.3 seems crazily cheap for penalty taking main striker
-
Which is why I've got him in my squad 🙂 hoping he'll come good over the next two. Popped up with an assist during the weekend.
-
have you watched any watford games? they creating any chanceS?
-
I've seen a couple. They're starting to create more imo, just taking a little while to get used to the league. Deeney will start firing them in once their attack clicks, which I'm hoping will be very soon.
-
i started the season with him but shipped him out before price falls - can definitely see myself bring back in at some point though
-
-
-
-
Just seems all a bit disjointed with them but they can defend pretty well as Nyom points show.
Also Ighalo's 21 points doesn't surprise me (Aguero 12) and he will be my worry this week.
Deeney should show up soon I think but not this week I hope.
-
-
-
is gomez(liverpool) will start or its risky cuz of moreno?
-
Definitely a risk but I am willing to take it. Other fish to fry with Shaw and Kompany.
-
-
2 FT This week
Butland > de Gea
Redmond> hoolahan (Benched)
Thoughts? Thanks-
Really weird moves
-
redmond - hoolahan very sideways unless you have a better use for the extra .7 (don't like the degea trade)
-
-
I expected more hate and conversation about Shaw - any link ? I see it awful, I almost cried :/ such a bad luck for this young lad...
-
Is Evans likely to be fit? He'll get more BAPS than Dawson but is so prone to injuries.
-
The last sentence reminds me about Shaw.
-
He won't have to play midweek game in CL or EL though.
-
-
pulls said it was just cramp, not an injury...so probably
-
-
I think it is near certain that West Ham will park the bus against City, just like they did against Liverpool and Arsenal. Granted, City have a better attack by far, I do see Aguero toiling for goals again. Now, West ham are no Juve, but it could be done again.
-
west ham found it pretty easy against liverpool and arsenal who lacked width...city will stretch them more...i doubt it will be a trashing but still expect city to score a couple
-
Point taken. Might reconsider Aguero (C).
-
City definitely the best contenders for adding width to their game
-
-
-
Nice to see two of my players have yellow flags removed Kun Silva, shouldn't need to worry about playing Williams or Westwood first sub.
Still undecided about who to play - Williams (H Eve) and Darmian (A Saints)
I think I'm set on Stekelenburg over McCarthy at this stage due to home fixture and Man U still not looking that flash going forward-
Play Williams
-
-
Im thinking of bringing azpi in for shaw am i crazy?
-
batsh it crazy
-
Yes
-
id consider bellerin or dawson better picks
-
-
Leeds got their own s hit to worry bout but still gutted for Luke Shaw, do well to make the euros. Did Aguero look lively?
-
De gea and Bellerin in place of begovic and shaw?
-
why dunp beg after one game
-
might WC after shaw andKomps injury, Chelsea defence looks horid
-
-
Wouldn't do it personally
and Something is wrong at Chelsea avoiding myself. I have Pedro and not too delighted about it atm-
wouldn't do what sorry?
-
De gea and Bellerin in place of begovic and shaw?
-
who would you go for instead?
-
Butland
and the defender is up in the air... Dawson, Pool defence or Nyom cat-
thanks matey
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Transfer out Coates to
A) Dawson
b) Sagna
c) Other
Current Backline
Butland (Ruddy)
APZ, Kolarov, Huth, Coates, S.Taylor-
Having two Man City defenders has been working great for a lot of teams, but I'd still rather have two City attackers plus the Fool.
-
A
-
-
With the cloud around Kompany's fitness it's only amatter of time before we see Otamendi. And then City will start conceding, and Kolarov will be dropped ...
This pesky game!! -
Have we figured out who the best Shaw replacment is?
Tempted to go Darmian. I know fixtures not fantastic but I don't fancy anyone else really-
Nyom. Bellerin decent shout too.
-
Here's my choices now:
- Dawson for fixtures
- Francis for attacking points
- Bellerin for baps.-
Bellerin isn't usually a bap whore, Saturday was just a masterclass. He is best for attacking points in the Arsenal backline
-
-
Not getting Watford lad, need top tier jazz since I've 2 cheapy mofo defenders already!
Bellers possible but I do like Darmian - even after today's abysmal performance 😐 -
Smalling is worth the .5 if you want to keep interest in the Utd defense.
-
-
What is everyone doing with Shaw???
-
call me crazy but id think tranfer out will be popular
-
Praying (for his sake) he makes it back this season.
-
-
Going back to earlier tonight, some of the people who were getting defensive and emotional of Shaw's injury were the same ones making jokes about Wilshere and Sturridge not so long ago.
-
And the tweet from one of th scouts wasn't good to see either. Injuries are horrendous and shouldn't be wished upon anyone. 🙁
-
its his twitter account, he can write what he wants
-
Didn't see the tweet ... what was that? I agree, there's more than just fantasy football when it comes to people's careers and health.
-
-
What was said?
-
Neither is funny tbh
Any person who loves football, especially people who play it, like myself are disgusted by injuries like this
Stuff of nightmares-
Exactly. Shouldn't wish injuries upon anyone. Or make jokes of them.
-
Very true. Really feel for Shaw
-
-
arsenal should have cashed in on Wilshere over the summer
-
hindsight is a wonderful thing
-
I thought it was a bit obvious, Theo too. We could have got a large chunk of dollar for both of them
-
-
-
