What makes a “casual” ScoutCast host? Perhaps one who takes to his bed even after a table topping 60-point return?

Despite bringing in his biggest haul of the season, leaving both Jonty and myself in his wake, Granville’s man-flu gets the better of him. Not to worry, Luke, aka “D1sable”, drops in to fill his evening slippers, helping steading the ScoutCast ship as we prepare to cross the choppy waters of another community fueled episode.

Luke and I look on enviously while Jonty gets dewy eyed about Dimiti Payet’s Monday night returns, before we switch attention to the fortunes of the Fantasy Football Scout crowd, scanning their Gameweek tallies in another bout of “Rough with the Smooth”, which this week includes a precautionary tail of a Fantasy Football rage injury.

We round off, as always, with another bout of community questions, assessing the lure of the five-man midfield, strikers and their desperate quest for bonus points, the great “casual” debate, whilst entertaining the idea of making Kolarov our captain. The season could hardly be more bizarre.

This episode was broadcast live via Google Hangouts on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night (before the Pedro news). Be sure to subscribe to our channel to get alerts on new episodes.

You can watch the Hangout broadcast via the larger player below. If you prefer the refined and edited audio version, you’ll need this link or the smaller player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ozil owners keeping for the foreseeable future or getting rid?

Tempted to do Ozil --> Sanchez this week.

      1. Puyol Pants Up

Alot of people will probably consider doing the reverse of that

      2. Malcolm Tucker for England …

I've got a lot of problems but I'm thinking of doing:

          Hazard + Ozil --> Sanchez + Yaya

I'd do ozil>yaya tbh and keep haz

Worth keeping till after Leicester, playing two awful defences in his next two and is bringing in the points

I ask as I have him and haven't considered selling from his performances but have seen a lot on here selling. Can those who are give their reasons? Just curious. Fixtures?

desperate times. Have no idea what to do...I have 2FT and 0 ITB...

    Butland McCarthy

    Clyne Kolarov Francis Colocinni (Gomez)

    Sanchez Mahrez Silva (Redmond) (Westwood)

    Costa Aguero Wilson

    Any suggestions?

    1. Demí

Costa to Benteke and Redmond to Lens

      1. Milner4eva
        11 years, 1 month ago

Lens over someone like Ayew/Shaqiri/Barkley? I'm surprised

        1. Demí
          11 years, 1 month ago

1 goal, 3 assists in 5 games. Don't rate Shaqiri as an option yet. I accept Ayew is a good pick, but still not sold on Barkley. Neither have the greatest of fixtures.

Lens is a fantastic goalscorer, and i think going under the radar because of whom he plays for.

          1. Milner4eva
            11 years, 1 month ago

I actually started the season with Lens and sold him on my GW3 wildcard. He's pretty much guaranteed to be involved in everything Sunderland do going forward, but I just don't think they will get enough goals to make it worthwhile. And they concede so many that he often loses out on the baps too. I agree he does go under the radar because he's a Sunderland player, but for the above reasons, that does actually diminish his value as an FPL asset too for me.

      Butland > Myhill?

Given an imminent price-drop for Huth, is Huth --> Nyom [-4] still not worth it?

    Kolarov | Azpilicueta | Huth | Coates | Targett

    1. Demí
      11 years, 1 month ago

Price drops don't seem a big deal to you if you've still got Coates, i would've thought. Not worth a -4 imo

I wouldn't be so sure his price is going to drop. I think he's borderline at worst. Not sure I'd be prepared for the hit for that trade either.

    Hi Scouts

    DDG I McCarthy

    Gomez I Darmian I Ward I Richards I Oxford

    Silva I Pedro I Ayew I Yaya I Mahrez

    Gomis I Aguero I Wilson

I have 1.4mil in the bank.

Would you swap Pedro for someone (i'd have 10.9 to spend on a player to replace him) or would you just stick with this team for this week?

    1. BananaNose Maldonado
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      11 years, 1 month ago

Stick. I think Gomez (not nailed), Oxford and Ward might be a more pressing issue to deal with.

      1. Fanta sea
        11 years, 1 month ago

The injury to Ward came at a wrong time for me. I had 4 playing defenders to choose from and now I'm left with barely 3. I've already used the free transfer on DDG so i'm risking ward for one week and hoping Gomez will play.

It's the Pedro one that i'm worried about because he's a big part of my team i think.

I'd probably sit on it then. You'll know more after this week and it's not worth a hit.

    1. Milner4eva

      1. Milner4eva

But if I had to, I'd.bench Chadli

        1. Demí

          1. Milner4eva
            11 years, 1 month ago

Shame, would you rather not have someone like Westwood as your 5th mid, just to avoid rotation headaches like these?

            1. Demí
              11 years, 1 month ago

Yes, but not sure what i'd do with the saved £ as the majority of big hitters are quiet so far. This week is awkward, but after i'd find it easier to bench given the fixtures to come for certain players.

    2. Fanta sea

does anyone else think Chelsea would play so much better as a 433 with Oscar and Fabregas in front of Matic? Hazard, Costa and Pedro up front. seems perfect to me. 😛

    1. Fanta sea
      11 years, 1 month ago

I thought that's what they're normally trying to do but because Stamford bridge is quite narrow, it often just looks like a 4-5-1

      1. DRAFTSNAKE
        11 years, 1 month ago

if they kept the wide attackers further forward that give them a wider central midfield though, allowing Oscar and Fabregas to control the middle of the park. It would also mean the fullbacks aren't caught out because they don't bomb on, they just sit there as a back four. I think Mourinho's losing his touch to be honest, I'm a much better manager haha

"The competition will be an American style play-off tournament with each round being a best of three, five or seven head to head. To ensure we have an even 32, 64, 128 or 256 there will be qualifying rounds where the required number of players with the highest aggregate score will qualify for the play-offs. Qualifying will also determine seeding for the tournament brackets with first seed playing 256th seed, second seed playing 255th seed and so on, giving an advantage to those who qualify strongly. "

Solid enough, no hit. Pedro to Ayew would be solid, or Shaqiri if you want to take a punt. I love Siggy, but shelvey has taken some of his set pieces and it looks like ayew is more of a threat from open play. Cheaper too.

Who should I bring in on a free transfer?
    This is my team

    Schmeichel
    Richards, Williams, Azpilicueta
    Mahrez, Sanchez, Hazard, Ayew
    Aguero, Wilson (C), Sakho

      Bench?

      1. Hakuna Juan Mata
        11 years, 1 month ago

Delaney, Obertan, Yoshida and Schwarzer as backup keep

        1. Milner4eva
          11 years, 1 month ago

Not the strongest of benches, but your starting XI looks fine.

I'd do Yoshida to someone nailed, maybe Nyom or Dawson

Have Aguero, Wilson and Rooney, yes, Rooney.

Who would you transfer Rooney for?

    1. Milner4eva
      11 years, 1 month ago

      Benteke

Either Diouf or Benteke due to the 2 plum home fixtures

    1FT 1.5m ITB

    Bego McCarthy
    Kolarov Gomez Evans Targett Naughton
    Pedro Yaya Sanchez Mahrez Westwood
    Kun Gomis Wilson

Have a few decisions to be made before deadline that I would love some input on.
    1. GK decision (Bego or Mac)
    2. Use FT on Pedro -->> Coutinho or Shaquiri or save
    3. If I save FT, I have to play 4 DF's....who gets benched?

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Think he started back training last week but would obviosuly need to build up his match fitness. I would say another week or two before he sees any Prem action. (Targett owner here too)

DO you know what the nature of his injury was?

Been sidelined for 3 months with surgery to both Knees. I think Targett will continue at LB for a while and Berty could be eased in and maybe given a League Cup game beofre a Prem one. Be interested to hear So'ton press conference. Targett is such good value at the mo, I don't wanna sell

Can someone help me decide between Ayew and Shaqiri for the next 5 GWs?

    1. Milner4eva
      11 years, 1 month ago

Ayew is the safe choice, Shaqiri could be a really exciting punt though
