We check in on Chelsea and West Brom’s new attackers, assess Everton and Southampton’s lone strikers, and cast an eye over Liverpool’s main performers in light of Brendan Rodgers’ move to a 3-4-1-2 formation at home to Norwich.
Anyone else starting to think that again like last season value won't be that important?
A lot of reasonably priced defenders (Naughtin/Nyom/Francis), Mids (Payet,Barkley,Mahrez), Forwards (Wilson,Ighalo,Sahko,Diouf),
All these equate to easy routes into 6.0 Defs, (kola/Azpi) , Heavy hitting mids if needed - Hazard/Kdb/Sanchez and almost any striker within reason alongside Aguero/Wilson.
I'm starting to think nothing is important, but then I'm in the 2 millions
It's a crazy season, I'm considering benching an 11.0m player (Sanchez) in favour of a 5.0 player (Ighalo) this week.
Lol - I'm giving Sanchez one more week, Both he and Arsenal have been so disappointing.
Will probably play AOA, and have both.
Best WBA, Norwich combo
A) Martin and Myhill (rotated with Butland)
B) Evans and Ruddy (rotated with Butland)Clearly A for now, but I guess Myhill s days could be over sometime
Anything rotated with Norwich and anything rotated with Stoke sounds horrible to me, but A for me so you never have to play Butland.
Butland has good fixtures, so am hopeful of decent returns.
Fair enough but I have them as one the three worst defences in the league.
Agree now on Butland he was a mistake-we (owners) got lucky last week.

Does anyone know where I can the find the actual points for each players, week by week, so far in the same format as the either "rate my team" or "projections" formats.? I.e. GW 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Danielthose weeks projections disappeared into the ether as the deadlines passed away I'm afraid.
I made a note to save them all last year but didn't bother this year. What I can say though, is those numbers are excellent.
I am not interested in projected numbers I am interested in the actual numbers the player received. Thanks

Only reason I've been thinking Souare is that he plays for a better team and has the better fixtures.As great as their attacking options are, Palace's defence is a no-fly zone for me.

Agree with your earlier point about graving up - it helps in getting answers and breeds familiarity amongst posters, Not saying posters have to but in my experience have a grav helps you integrate into the community by association with your grav.

I really only spotted Trequartista a day or so ago and linked together a few of his posts mentally because I loved the username. the gravless Alex123's and Johnny456's all blur into one otherwise.

Balders, can you explain what is the advantage of considering bench points as a tie breaker ?
Because I think it just promotes teams to get a rotating front 8, which I don't think is a good strategy in FPL in generalIt's promotes strength in depth. Its still better to have 56 points with 0 on the bench than 55 and 12 on the bench. But 55 with 12 on the bench shows you have a stronger squad than someone with 55 and 2.
Ok, Take this as an example :
Say 2 FPL managers have exactly the same team apart from 2 players, one of them (A) has Sako and Deeney rotating for the seventh attacker spot while the other (B) plays Vardy every week and benches Wanyama every week.
Now there will be weeks when the starter from A outscores( or matches the points of ) Vardy, but long term B would have a better FPL overall score in my opinion, while A would have a distinct advantage in your competition.
Got a feeling there will be a Azpi rush next week if Chelsea keep a clean sheet... i'll be in for him fo' sho'

Not Nyom or FrancisSouare has good fixtures but no cleansheets. Everton have excellent fixtures from GW 11 so Galloway could be an option too.

I'm in a decent position (not usually in the top 100,000 by this time in the season) and have got good team value with only a couple of minor doubts for the next game. However, I think I wildcard will be needed very soon because, somewhat subconsciously, I have slowly been shifting my funds towards the rear of my team over the opening gameweeks and I think I'm gonna need the money for some big hitters soon:

You might say that's a balanced team, but I don't think I've ever had a fourth defender worth 5.0 before, especially when my fifth defender is a regular starter at 4.5.
Does anyone else think this team looks like it's gonna need an overhaul next week? Shifting the funds forward in order to grab someone like Hazard is gonna take several transfers. But the point is I have an (almost - Kompany) fully fit squad, so a wildcard feels somewhat wasted.I think dropping Chadli to a 4.5m mid could be a big help
Yes, this and dropping one of my defence to a proper budget defender, and maybe dropping Wilson to Ighalo, and Possibly Martial to Pelle (depending on how he performs over the next couple of fixtures). These are all moves I could do together to create funds to get in, say, Hazard AND Sanchez.
Hazard & Sanchez are sooo last season. Dumped the latter last week after wildcarding him in during GW3. So frustrating to watch and even the single assist he got this season was a fluke (his header was going wide but was OG'd in).
You do not have long left to wildcard anyway...

When you do make changes, remembwr to change Wilson to Iggy - as will free up .5.I know, it sounds like one of those calls just for reassurance, but I think it's coming. Maybe this week is a little early, but I am nervous of not owning Hazard or Pedro this week, and I have no Arsenal. they are about to have great runs of fixtures, (as will Everton) so even though this team, is doing well, it might need a complete overhaul very soon...
Nice team. Personally, I'm not a Chadli fan and I'd be downgrading him to the likes of Fletcher at 4.4m and using the money for an upgrade elsewhere. I've tried the 8 playing forwards thing but it's annoying the money you leave on the bench. As for Hazard, if he's off penalties there's absolutely no way he's worth 11.3m.
My squad is very similar, Pedro is my 2nd most expensive player and like you I have a fair bit of cash invested in my defence. This is where having a WC is an advantage though, we can restructure our squads at a moments notice so don't worry about your team balance. Thats what the WC is for. Use it only when the moment is right.

He was dropped at the weekend, but I said last night it was strange that he didn't play in what was essentially the second XI. Only thing I can think of is that Hughes wants to get Wilson fully up to match fitness. However I'm not going to transfer Muniesa out until we know the picture after this weekend.
