Just ten days after celebrating three-figure tallies, many Fantasy managers are now left counting the flags as the international break casualties mount.

Sergio Aguero leads the army of crocks. The City striker’s twanging hamstring has taken the shine off his incredible 25-point haul and it’s his demise from hero to zero that dominates the chatter in this latest ScoutCast episode.

With Granville struck down by sniffles, Luke aka “D1sable” steps into the breach to join Jonty and myself to take up the challenge of weighing up the Aguero stand-ins.

We also take time to assess two contrasting managerial appointments, greeting Jurgen Klopp’s thrilling heavy metal football, whilst mustering a nod to Big Sam’s bid to produce a Black Cats escape routine.

    Considering we just have 5 spots in midfield and there are so many good mids at sub 9.0(Wally/Hazard/Mata/Mane/Payet/Mahrez/Eriksen) .. what output would you expect from someone like Hazard to justify the outlay of 11+? Will he ever be worth it?
    Can easily see most of those names averaging a healthy ppg of around 5 and hitting 180+ points if fit all season. even if Hazard hits his usual 200(will he this year?) will the few points extra justify the 2.5/3 million difference? Really feel fpl have priced him out of the game this year

      Now that Aguero is out and we need captain options,he would come in handy even for that price - if he was in form.
      Unfortunately he haven't showed enough to warrant a place atm.

        Yup.. captaincy is a good argument. infact i am considering a one week WC punt on him.. but it really does feel like i'm getting him just cause i have the spare cash available. i'll probably live in fear of Wally/Yaya/Mahrez if i get Hazard 😆

      To be successful this season you have to look at form more than anything else! Ignoring players like Ighalo at the beginning despite their very good stats was mainly due to fear of not owning the 'big guns', even if they weren't playing well.

          Didn't you put Hazard in the bracket in the sub 9.0 as the rest? IMHO, Hazard does not worth the price based on his underlying attacking stats. Mostly are assist related, little on shooting. Payet is similar but better stats, I'd rather get him instead.

            I dint put him in the sub 9.0 bracket.. my point was more about fpl dropping the ball by making the price difference between Hazard and those guys i mentioned around 3 million.. if anything the rest of those mids should be priced higher. Ridiculous to get so many 5 ppg players for so cheap

                  I think mainly because of their previous season. Yaya did not worth 10m-ish based on his previous performance, Mata as well. Walcott wasn't even nailed.

    And is anyone else ignoring the Saints defense? i've got Mane and Pelle already and Bertie was nailed in my WC team.. but it's very risky considering they've got
    LEI liv Mancity palace TOT ARS whm in their next 11(until next WC) .. slowly thinking that the money is better spent elsewhere

        it's always the opportunity cost involved.. for every Soton defender you miss out on an Everton OR Wba OR Arsenal defender...
        That being said i may take a cheap punt on Cedric... or i could go Bertie if i overlook Bellerin

    if you were on a WC, which defenders would you def want regardless of rest of team..
    - Saints def (i.e. cedric or bertand)
    - cant think of anything else :-/
    - bellerin seems to be popular but wat,EVE,swa,TOT..can see max 2 cs there hmm
    - am thinking of janmaat if i dont go for elliot..very attacking fb

          Don't have anything better than that, apart from Bellerin. Janmaat is risky but very good shooting stats. My priority would be Kolarov, Bellerin, Janmaat / Wat + WBA rotation in that order. If you can wait for 2 more GWs, then Jagielka & Bertrand.

          -12 never looks good but with the hits flying in and out, it will effect to a lesser extent this week. Having said that the -4 should be spent on astute or long term transfer and I think only KDB and/or Hazard can make it look worth this week and further weeks to come especially if you are looking to captain him.

          So i'd not advise against it but also keep an eye on Yaya, he might just be a better pick than KDB due to better goal threat and now on penos and also playing further forward.

      Janmaat and Souare.. though i'm not sure you can ever rotate Janmaat. could be a Caulker situation all over again(1 point every week in the hopes that a haul that never comes is just around the corner)

    I've been playing around with my GW11 WC team and I'm not sure Mahrez stays - quite expensive for an 8th attacker and his fixtures turn soon. If Pedro does start this week then I think he is a good option at home to AVL. This is why I'm considering B). sot, CPL is also pretty tough for Mahrez for the next 2 weeks.

    Question regarding WC keepers.. do you reckon that
    Butland + Hennessey could be a good shout in the long run on the basis of save points and the off chance that Hennessey is gonna be the 1st choice keeper in the long term for palace?

      i am thinking elliot + henessey..both rotate quite well.
      see how that works out and depending the one that gets displaced, can upgrade. yes it will use a transfer up but i think its worth the risk of potentially having such a cheap combo. am pretty sure one of them will be nailed on, dont know which one

    GOing to be contreversial but i think yaya represents better value then kdb...1.7m price diff.
    yaya should have pens, kdb doesnt have great shooting stats and with silva out, he will be slightly withdrawn to dictate tempo and create chances (similar to silva)

    am i on the right track or just trying to convince myself

      Nope you are on track. I think he'll now have more responsibility to score and freedom to get in the box more often which he likes. If Yaya is fit defo Yaya over KDB. In absence of Kun and Silva along with tasty fixtures, he might be gold again even though it would be for short term.

    Seeing loads of (C)osta in folks team...any time I've seen him this season he's looked awful. Unfit and slow. Plus he hasn't played many games recently with his suspension so no way he's sharp right now. Is the argument purely on last season and that Chelsea have to turn it round...or have I missed something?
