Just ten days after celebrating three-figure tallies, many Fantasy managers are now left counting the flags as the international break casualties mount.

Sergio Aguero leads the army of crocks. The City striker’s twanging hamstring has taken the shine off his incredible 25-point haul and it’s his demise from hero to zero that dominates the chatter in this latest ScoutCast episode.

With Granville struck down by sniffles, Luke aka “D1sable†steps into the breach to join Jonty and myself to take up the challenge of weighing up the Aguero stand-ins.

We also take time to assess two contrasting managerial appointments, greeting Jurgen Klopp’s thrilling heavy metal football, whilst mustering a nod to Big Sam’s bid to produce a Black Cats escape routine.

This latest episode was first broadcast live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full broadcast via the larger player below (much as we love Luke, we do eventually shift the camera from him).

For the edited and slightly more refined audio experience, you’ll need this link or the stream available via small player.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for the heads-up on future episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Should I wildcard?

    Ruddy, Boruc
    Kolarov, Cedric, Richards, Morgan, Muniesa
    Hazard, Payet, Mahrez, Sako, Wanyama
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    1 FT & 1.9 ITB

    A) Wildcard
    B) Pelle & Sanchez for Aguero & Wanyama (4 point hit)
    C) Bony & Sanchez for Aguero & Wanyama (4 point hit)

should have wildcarded 10 days ago if you where going to do it. Option B is best.

Now that Sanchez and KDB is a slight doubt, surely the majority of people on here will go for Pelle (C)?

Personally I prefer Pelle over them anyway. But many were thinking of Sanchez over him.

Plus with a knock, Kevin and Alexis could be eased in with 30mins?

Both will probably struggle to score without those 2 on the field.

    Need a bit of help on my starting line out and questioning if I need to get anyone in for a hit, team looks like this;
    Hart De gea
    Kolarov smalling azpil clyne willaims
    Mata Barkley mahrez payet puncheon
    Pelle ighalo Wilson
Thinking of taking a hit for Wilson but who do I drop to the bench? Might not take a hit and just start who I have here, opinions? 5.7m itb

Sturridge FPL history since 2010/2011 season

    7657 minutes played.
    59 goals scored. 21 assists. 548 points.
A goal or assist every 95 minutes.

He has the history but it's the injuries that shadows doubts. New managers more often than not rejuvenate teams instantly and Sturridge is a confidence player who could thrive off Klopp's arrival.

He'll be immense while he's fit, seems to always be. Its just he will break down, the kind of player he is, the physicality of his game is probably too much to handle, a bit like a certain mr.Sergio.

The stats are there - when fit, he's a really good pick. The natural Aguero replacement. But as you say, the physicality element..

If Klopp doesn't take the Europa League too seriously and doesn't play Sturridge midweek he could match Aguero for numbers this season. 20+ goals easily.

May just stick it on KDB as he's more likely to start rather than Sanchez. Mane 'could' not start, but i expect him to.

Fun stuff, yeah. He's a great character and great as in lovely, funny and nice. Not the kind of inverted commas 'great' character like that arse Mourinho whose antics sells papers but nobody actually likes.

+1 There was a great article in the times last week along these lines about why Mourinho hasn't got the personality to manage at a club for more than 3 years before everyone hates him and turns their backs on him. It's like The Cult of Jose and eventually everyone sees the light and wants out.

4231. Can Hendo. Firmino Coutinho as interchanging 10's. No clue who he will play wide. Sturridge up top most likely

Think I saw posts earlier in the week saying Benteke had been a target for Dortmund at some point? Surely he'll provide enough competition for Sturridge's game time to be fairly risky in the long term?

They scouted him but didn't pursue a transfer. I'm sure he'll see his minutes , but maybe in Europa and off the bench in the league

From the bit that I've read on Klopp Dortmund were interested in Benteke a few years ago, so, he likes him. Based on his previous formations at Dortmund, I can see Sturridge lining up wide of Benteke in the middle with Coutinho in behind with Firmino on the other flank possibly.

      My guess:
      Sturridge
      Coutinho. Firmino. Milner

Don't think it's a great price range. Might be best going for a 4.3 nailed on defensive mid. If you're set on it, Delle Ali could be worth a punt...

how many hits would one take until they are like ok wc for sure? i can perfectly justify a 12 pt hit have done -4 already other minus 8 would be aguero and berhami to vardy and sanchez , however maybe minus 12 is jst too much when still have wc? i think it might be nice to still have wc in couple of weeks in order to want to bring aguero in

    1. Hands Guber
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

If you have a WC I'd use it over spending 12 points. It's not too late despite what people are saying on here. There was little to no profit to be made during the International break and anyone that says you should have done it a week ago is thinking of seasons past.

If you don't hit this week you're gaining 4-8 points + on your rivals that are forced into taking hits. Aguero may be back in 4 GW's and he may not, there's no guarantee and there's also no guarantee that he'll find form so easily again.

If I was thinking of -12 I would wildcard. Max I would take a -8 hit. That's just my own view tho. It's hard enough for me to get points these days!
