Gameweek 9’s epilogue pits Swansea City against Stoke City at the Liberty Stadium. With just one win in their previous six outings, the Swans are searching for a morale-boosting three points against Mark Hughes’ men. As for the Potters, they’ve won two matches on the bounce and are unbeaten in three.

In the previous four Gameweeks, only Sunderland recorded fewer shots on target (11) than Swansea (12), which suggests that Garry Monk’s outfit are struggling to fashion clear-cut chances. They’ve also failed to stifle the flow of opposition attacks over that stretch, conceding the third most shots inside the box (42) of any team in the league. In fact, they rank top for total attempts (71) surrendered between Gameweek 5-8, strengthening the case for investment in Stoke’s forward contingent.

Despite posting the second fewest number of attempts (39) in the previous four Gameweeks, Stoke boast the second best shot accuracy (43.6%) during that period. Akin to the Swans, though, the Potters have offered up a wealth of opportunities for their adversaries over that period, conceding the most big chances (12) and fourth most shots inside the box (41).

Butland cocked up, rushed out of the area, went in studs up on Ayew (althugh he got the ball), then possible hand balled outside the area (not too sure if he did or not).

      This is BBC's take:
Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland is hugely fortunate not to concede a goal here. The England international appears to be in two minds and plays it straight to Andre Ayew. He makes up for it with a studs-up challenge on Ayew, which has really annoyed the Ghanaian. A small chance the ball might have struck Butland on an arm too from the rebound.

Butland mis placed pass out of area straight to Swansea attacker, panicked rushed out 2 footed lunge, won the ball but dangerous play should have been red

Butland should have been sent off.

Any outfield player does that and it's red.

A Butland rc there and we might have raised ranks tonight with no players if it stayed 0-1 !

Marko Arnautovic is the best signing of the decade. Not just because of the player he is but because of what he symbolises. When Hughes replaced Pulis everyone was saying that he was going to have a hard time keeping up the solid placings Stoke had been getting under Pulis if he tried to play a more attractive, attacking style of football. The singing of Arnautovic was an injection of flair into the side in pursuit of this new style and since he has joined Stoke have finished 9th both seasons (their highest ever PL finish).
