Sometimes, even those Fantasy managers who factor in form above all else are forced to revise their approach by the machinations of the Premier League fixture computer.

One of those sometimes is now.

Everton’s run of opponents, right up until the end of the year, is nothing short of extraordinary.

Beginning with the weekend’s Goodison Park meeting with struggling Sunderland, Roberto Martinez’s men avoid all of last season’s top eight clubs between Gameweek 11-19.

Sunday’s encounter is the first of five home matches in a run that has Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Stoke drop in on Merseyside. Around the home comforts, the Toffees travel to face West Ham, Bournemouth, Norwich and Newcastle – a less than daunting menu of away trips.

Suddenly, Fantasy managers are scanning Martinez’ squad and attempting to decipher the key targets and the optimum time to draft them in.

In this latest article for members, we’ll attempt to tackle this subject head on. Firstly, by analysing Everton’s current form in detail, before assessing their major performers and weighing up the merits of investment ahead Saturdays Gameweek 11 deadline.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What punt(s) are you taking this week?
Coleman for me. 9 goals and 6 assists in the last two seasons from him.

Good choice with his upcoming fixtures tbh. Not sure if I'd be banking on many cs with no Jags

Yeah...I'm not too convinced about them defensively but I wanted a defender for the long-term. If he picks up a bit of form I'll be pleased.

Yup. For that reason I'm leaving my team. And the fact my front 8 have the highest points per game for fit players!

Team for this week? Gtg? Bench boost played

    DDG, Lloris
    Sagna, Zouma, Gabriel, Janmaat, Morgan
    Sanchez, KDB(c), Payet, Mane, Mahrez
    Lukaku, Vardy, Ayoze

    1. Jay_
      10 years, 9 months ago

Can see lots of clean sheets and Ayoze and Mahrez doing well too, probably the perfect week to do it if we knew there wouldn't be any double gameweeks, I can see you scoring at least 80 but is rather save it tbh

I'm experimenting. Taking a different approach. Want to be set for the Tournament also 😉 Need a bit of a boost slowly slipping through the ranks and not happy with the team I had. Was missing out with 0 city players, no Payet, No playing keeper or 5th mid, I felt I was just going to keep on slipping. Using the chip as a mini WC as such. Fixing the holes in the team and playing it to clear the hits(hopefully). Most wont agree with this but I expect my team to do better in the coming weeks and long term which is when I will make the points back. Fingers crossed.

Basically I need Lloris, Sagna, Morgan and Payet to get me back the -12 for it to pay off which is very likely IMO.

        1. Jay_
          10 years, 9 months ago

It is very likely, but think how much ground you could lose with no chip on the dgw, maybe 50 points, but I understand your reasoning and as you say with a template developing you don't want to be stuck behind in the ranks, good luck, I hope it works out for you

Thanks. Hopefully I can put the other two chips to good use in the dgw's and with correct planning etc get the players I want for them. Best of luck the weekend

Great side Papamoa! Balls to the wall week for you but I like the aggression. I think your team will score well and like you say will pay you back over the coming weeks if the team can stay injury free.

Yeah thanks baps. I feel the past few weeks have shown how important it is to have a playing XV. Injuries, rotation and so on. Especially coming into the hectic Christmas period. McCarthy, Westwood etc and no city players with the next two gw's for them was just too much of a risk in my eyes.

Need to sell either Ben Davies or Francis

Even though Davies has lost his place recently i'm wondering if itd more shrewd to sell Francis

How would you fix my backline?

    Lloris (Hennessey)
    Janmaat Alderweirld Gabriel Clyne Smith

Nothing in the bank atm but might do in a few weeks if i do sterling>mane

Clyne>Moreno gives me some cash to upgrade. Or get simpson in as a cheap and upgrade Gabriel>bellerin

Myhill worth getting in or butland to save some cash on the keeper?

Best week of the season so far for FPL...so many options and so many picks for both (c) and not (c). As a lover of FPL i wouldn't mind if we don't see Aguero again this season....

Aguero is fantastic, world class...i love him as a player...but...

On the week he got injured last season he was in 90% of active teams and 80% captaincy..

That's not very good for FPL.

Almost tempted to risk not putting him back when hes fit. Cant see having a team of Sanchez De Bruyne and Aguero without being bad everywhere else.

Aguero Ighalo Vardy would be the template front line to fit everyone in probably

Next question is do we believe that Funes Mori and Stones will keep clean sheets

    Pelle Sakho Ighalo

    a) Sakho + Azpi ----> Lukaku + Moreno

The only reason I would have to do the Cech transfer is because I already have 3 Arsenal players. And if I get Giroud it would leave me with only 4.5 for GK. Schmeichel seems the best at that price for the next 2-3GWs. I'd WC when Kun is back anyway

Ahh... well that seems better. Knowing you have a WC helps the situation. I think Gru is a decent differential however I still think option a) will get you more points.

Defiantly, he'll likely be slotted it in the hole where his natural position is, with Coutinho played on the left, IMO. He's a better finisher and goalscorer than Coutinho as well. I don't think Lallana will be starting tbh, his fitness isn't the best & he'll rarely play 70 minutes, in my view he's not cutout for a high work-rate gegenpress side. I also doubt he'll be getting the od over a fully fit Firmino seeing as he's Pool's marquee offensive signing & Klopp's in love with the guy's work ethic.

Np, something to keep an eye for sure. Pool still have some tough fixtures for a few & Firmino's still not 100% I'm pretty sure. So give this a few GW's to dig in completely imo, no need to commit just yet.

    How am I looking?

    Hennessey
    Monreal | Cédric | Janmaat
Sánchez | Hazard | De Bruyne | Mané
    Lukaku | Pellè | Ighalo

I want some Chelsea cover for their upcoming fixtures, regardless of form.

I may therefore do Hazard + Ighalo --> Willian + Kane.

It's just the -4 that's putting me off.

Who to bench this game week?

    Schmicheal/myhill
    Bellerin/kolarov/dier/Cedric/nyom
    Payet/Sanchez/mane/kdb/mahrez
    Vardy/lakaku/pelle

    Currently thinking bench myhill/cedric,/nyom/mahrez

Although really don't like leaving mahrez on bench. Thinking about using bench boost while I have a good bench but then would not have for any double game weeks.
