Yeah I've been a regular DZer for about 5-6 years i guess. It's nice to have the same 20-30 users here for a solid discussion in the middle of my Australian day

There are a few still around,, some come and go ... there were a few real characters here a few years ago, who either got banned or got sick of their posts being removed (rightly or wrongly). But ... the current crop are pretty good ... i like you, for example 🙂

Aha, yeah I've seen lot of issues recently regarding posts being removed. Seems it was an even bigger deal in the past. This place has been missing those controversial posters like MRU who at least had good banter. Haha, thanks TE, you're not too bad yourself 😉

    Current midfield of...

    Hazard Ozil Mahrez Mane Barkley

1.8 in the bank to work with, looking at bringing in a city midfielder and/or Ramsey.

    What would you suggest?

    1. NABIL - FPL otai

Very similar midfield, I got 'em all except for Barkley (KDB foe me).

Try Mane -> KDB/Sterling if you can, if not downgrade Haz. I plan to do Haz -> Rambo later on.

Well I'm considering a hit to bring in Ramsey and a City midfielder. I'm finding it hard to prioritize one over the other, so I may take the hit. Shame to see Hazard leave so soon but sometimes you just need to cut losses.

If you think it'll pay off then why not.

With Hazard I would say it is best to cut your losses.

For 7.0 max, should I get:-

    A. Wijnaldum
    B. Shaqiri/Arnau

      Hey, Nabil 🙂

Assuming you're not keen on Agüeto. Playing around with the ticker. I'm not too fond of Newcastle's fixtures there GW18-20 (EVE, wba, ars). Think you can get better mids at 7.0 strictly as cover for those GW's. Arnie has (MUN, eve, wba), not ideal IMO.

Maybe Bolasie could be a good shout here as he has good form in tandem with stronger fixtures (bou, SWA, CHE). Or Alli with (NOR, wat, eve). I'd go either those two, or Stanislas in case you need the cash at some point plus they have decent fixtures & have some of the best attacking stats around these last four (CRY, ars, lei).

i don't have any problems to have two players from an attack minded team. Already have mahrez, vardy (Lei) and barkley, lukaku (Eve). The decision to bring alli is not final yet, might go for silva and double up with kdb.

fwiw I really don't have any problem with 2 attacking players from same team too. This is a guy who has Sakho/Payet & Mane/Pelle in his GW1 team 😆

Alli is very good but the notion for me is if I'm getting a serious bench fodder, better go with Stan since he's cheaper.

It would depend on whether or not you wanted to start putting Kun plans in place - look to bring him in over the next 2-3 GWs. If so, you would go a cheap 5th MID - Stanislas etc,

If you're not too concerned about getting Kun in - go with Wijnaldum

With clean sheets so hard to predict, I dont see any reason to invest heavily in defenders. Would be best just to save the money for a future kun/sanchez/hazard/kdb transfer in the future. My team is:

      Butland Hennessey
      Koscielny Alderweireld Moreno Ward Simpson

But looking at going Kos>Evans as Brom have good fixtures coming up and Arsenal dont look like keeping cleanies anymore with no good defensive mids tbh.

Sterling is to up and down to bother with. I remember when he played well in champions league before and scored. So I captain him against villa and he missed a couple of real easy chances. Just not clinical or consistent enough, and he always gets subbed.

Well a personal problem presented itself which unfortunately took up an awful lot of time. I still managed to dig a trench and bury the telephone cable and redecorate the living room. I never got the completion certificate done but all the work towards it was done.

I don't get one unfortunately. Although once we have the cert I can put a floor in the loft. There is space for a full size snooker table up there along with a home cinema easily.

Sounds like you may have to install a new hatch if viable. Or the better option may be to just chop out a section of the ceiling separate to the hatch and replace it later after the works? You're the expert chap!

Bench strength: looking ahead into the Christmas schedule and impending rotations/1pters, would you rather:

    (assume similar fixture difficulty)

    1) Stronger: 5th Mid OR 4th Def?

    2) First sub: 5th Mid or 4th Def?

Possible but question is how to predict clean sheets? Last gw no one would have predicted a stoke or Newcastle CS. If your fourth defender is from a bottom team then no percentage in playing him as first sub.

          1. 42towels
            • 11 Years
            10 years, 4 months ago

I'd say it's more difficult to predict a 5th cheap mid's points as compared to clean sheets. (unless you're playing with a big front 8 i.e.)
And I assumed most would not have a 4th defender from bottom teams.

Fwiw, my defense is Alder, Moreno, Monreal, Azpi, Dawson.
My 5th mid is Westwood, and am wondering if it's even worth using a transfer to change him.

Far be it from me to profit from other people's misery but this Sturridge injury has cheered me up little. I think this means Bentekke will get gametime every week and with Coutinho back Tekkers could produce something. I plan to keep Tekkers for a couple of more weeks despite the Newcastle horror show.

Or am I smoking? I know Pool fans think Tekkers doesn't suit Klopp's style. But surely he is ahead of Origi right? Or will Klopp again play without a striker and use Tekkers only as sub?

I'd like to know this also. If Kun is ruled out I'm looking at Tekkers as an option.

I have Tekkers already so will keep him. But will not get him afresh. Kane, Lukaku, vardy, ighalo all should be ahead of him. I would even look at Martial before Tekkers.

Not sure if he will start of Origi...Klopp still doesn't have his ideal starting line-up yet - even more so with Coutinho injured at the moment. Could be worth a punt though! Proven quality.

      • 12 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

I'm going back to safety with my Sturridge out transfer (I think). Aguero's not ready, Tekkers isn't *guaranteed* game time and I've been fire walking for far too long with injury-prone premium players so I might just get Vardy.

Why not Martial? If you can access above article, Martial's nos are intriguing. I don't buy this gloom around united. At some point they will string together a few weeks of decent scores. Martial will profit from that.

On a diff note united ex players turned pundits are doing what Pool's ex players used to do all these years. Create this air of negativity around the manager and make his position untenable. These pundits have no accountability and talk is cheap.

Nah United attackers are awful fantasy assets whilst under LVG. For me the big number stat is of secondary importance to shot numbers etc and at home to West Ham, or indeed over any of Man U's last 5 really easy fixtures he's done nowhere near enough for me to be remotely interested.

I'm a simple guy - can only focus on one thing at a time 😆 maybe now i can focus abit more on FPL. What would you do with this lot, lads?

    DDG
    Skrtel Kolarov Dawson

And then let's get the RMT out of the way before she sees you posting again.
I'd say wait for Aguero news. If he's fit, Ayew->Silva/Coutinho/Ramsey.

If Aguero's ruled out, Aguero->Lukaku probably safest.

Yea not sure...weird season. Always happy with my team but just struggling - ML rivals differentials hammering my differentials has been the issue....Ayew to MCI/Coutinho if Aguero is fit seems popular.

Thanks for the well wishes! Very happy, hopefully ride this optimism in FPL for awhile 😀

yea they've opened up a massive lead the past few weeks because of my Mane Sanchez Aguero vs Lukaku Ozil Barkley with cash in the bank.

            Absolutely demoralizing.

Congrats. Once she says yes you can afford to take your eye off the ball!

Isues I can see wuith your starting xi.

Dawson - Do you have a better option in your other defenders?
Ayew - Tough fixture and Surman as an option is much worse.
      Aguero - Fitness?

Yup, fair assessment and completely agree some are on borrowed time,

Colo Naughton are my other defenders.
Ayew is on the doorstep out of my team this week depending on Aguero news.

Agüero to Lukaku imo, huge ownership & will be captained by many vs Norwich. I'd definitely prioritize him over anyone else.

    Vardy - Lukaku

still rose for me.. cheaper.. and always chance of assist and even a goal...toby was lucky to get that assist last game .. when it comes to fpl.. wing backs over center backs any day

Which three signings do you think were the best last window for premier league teams? Here's a shortlist from me. Value vs. money considered.

Clyne (12.5M), Sterling (49M), De Bruyne (54.5M), Cech (10M), Deulofeu (4.25M), Kante (5.6M), Huth (3M), Fuchs (free), Joe Gomez (3.5M), Martial (36M), Wijnaldum (14.5M), Virgil van Dijk (11.5M), Glen Johnson (free), Ayew (free), Alderweireld (11.5M), Payet (10.7M).

Kante, Alder and Cech. Payet there if not injured

Only prob with Deulofeu is that Barca can get him back for 6mill, if they had him no strings attached he'd be in my top 3 definitely

Cech, Kante, Payet for me. It's a real shame for the hammers that Payet's been crocked since arriving.

      For me:

      Payet
      Alderweireld
      Sterling

Sterling because City needed an English player, he's only 21 and he's versatile.

To be fair Cech has saved Arsenal so many pts this season and he was taken from a rival that could of used him. I'd rank him over Sterling on second thought.

    352 a possibility?

    Ozil Mahrez Walcott Coutinho Silva
    Lukaku Kane

Swap kdb/silva or Walcott/Ramsey depending but could be a strong front 7. Then have Ighalo as the third striker and rotate when he has plum fixtures.

    Thoughts?
