    Depay down to 7.8. He had huge ownership at the start. Must be leading the race for most disappointing FPL prospect of the season (along with Hazard)

    You see how we sometimes read on here that a certain player has great underlying stats but doesnt transfer them to fpl points. Well who has average or poor stats but still gets fpl points?

    I think I've finally come around to the idea that LVG should probably go. Another impotent display and a loss will be the final straw. The players don't know how to score goals by passing it around a lot. Instinctively its just not there. The style will probably suit smaller clubs who need to compete with big teams and would suit european football. Its just not working at United despite their best efforts.

    Perhaps SAF could come back as an interim manager till the end of the season.

                LVG sold a lot players and some of the players are young and will come good in a few years time for the next manager (Depay, Martial)

                  Yet, LVG relies on Fellaini more than any of the signings made in his own tenure.

                  And yes United finish 4th, was that because they we were good or because the likes of Liverpool who finished 2nd the previous season, dropped off? You can only beat what's in front of you and this season is showing that. Moyes and LVG's time at United very similar and comparable. One spent 27m, finished 7th. The other, 250m, finished 4th at the expense of a team selling the world's best striker, and now sit 6th.

                    Honestly, it doesn't matter to me, both managers have failed end of story. LVG was a little more successful but he also spent a lot more money so fair enough. Either way, at this moment United can't score goals and they don't know how to score goals with LVG's filoshofee. This is a problem no matter how you look at it.

                      Agreed that there's a clear problem. Both Moyes and LVG failed, Moyes less so (context needed: ££, time managed, rivals were stronger).

                      United now need a plan. Do they want a quick short term fix, or a long term sustainable plan like Arsenal, City and Liverpool are building.

                        I think a quick fix is necessary to ensure champions league football. You have to realise that the income is much greater when you have champions league football and we do have to credit LVG over Moyes in that respect.

                        Mourinho is an excellent option who can ensure champions league football and maybe in a few years United will be in a stable position to push forward on the sustainability front.

                        Can't see Mourinho going there so quick after leaving Chelsea. You're better off sacrificing short term CL football for long term stability, in my opinion. See how a Pochettino, de Boer feels about creating something special.

                        The trouble is though that United is becoming impatient. I think its important to satisfy the fans with results first and then look at a long term option.

                        You're right that its probably too soon for Mourinho hence the idea of SAF being a care taker manager or sticking it out with LVG and replacing him with Giggs towards the end of the season if things don't improve.

                  Fellaini wasn't a bad signing and continues to be one of the few Mufc players who offers something
                  Don't tell me Van Gaal would have let Rooney go, no matter who came on, Rooney was getting re-signed

                  Selling players is not an achievement
                  Depay was a good player in the Dutch league and he of course has lots of potential but we haven't seen any of it
                  Martian is an amazing young player but LVG is

                      I agree that LVG is a problem for Depay. Fellaini is an excellent alternative at the moment because when all else fails we can always hoof it into the box and hope Fellaini does something. He's basically plan B but the problem is plan A hasn't been working for a while.

        Honestly, I wouldn't be against it. Similar style to LVG so it wouldn't be a massive change unlike Mourinho. Then again, Mourinho is probably the favourite and I don't mind that too much.

            There is no United way, the only way that should matter is results no matter how they come. I couldn't care less if we played anti-football and got results or played ticka tacka and got results. Mourinho knows how to get results, he has an excellent record apart from this season.

              It's very difficult to tell to what extent he has been at fault for him lasting only three years at a club . I definitely blame Roman for things ending so badly the first time , He had nothing left to do at Inter aswell . I think he would get tiring as a manager even with the results

                I think Mourinho is the type of manager who specialises in short term stints where he improves the fortunes of a club. Much like Pulis in some ways but at bigger clubs. Over time though he loses his influence and the players don't respond in quite the same way.

      Uhm, have you watched Everton defend recently? I'm thinking about Kane as (C) benching would be ridiculous.

      I'd be benching Ramsey tbh.... he will have to sit back and defend more again due to lack of a defensive mid and can't see him getting forward at all.

          I luv me some Theo, but his haven't been misses, they've been utter fails. Like Benteke type fails.That concerns me. Not just for FPL either.

          But he is definitely a differential if he hits even a bit.

        Right? Would be great to have another bargain team showcasing top-end attacking football. Ayew & Siggy could be golden, now all they need is to scrap Gomis & get proper striker. They certainly have a decent mix of players to fit into Bielsa's high tempo game plan.
