need help with the payet > siggy dilemma before price update

    2 FTs

    Butland (McCarthy)
Kompany - Morgan - Smith - Targett* (Bellerin*)
Silva - Mahrez - Alli - Ozil* (Payet*)
    Kane - Kun - Vardy

    A) Payet > Siggy/Ayew
    B) Targett > Wimmer/Williams (wimmer to cover rival's alder)
    C) Both
    D) any other recommendations

Is 0.1 that important at this stage? Surely better to wait and see if Arsenal play?

    VVD Williams Huth
    Eriksen Siggy Mahrez
    Kun (c) Kane Vardy

    2.0 ITB 1 FT

    A) Watson->Alli 5th mid
    B) Ozil->Silva

Which move if Arsenal win in the cup? I plan on wcing gw33, so only really looking at fixtures next 3 gw30-32. Was thinking A) but I hear Alli is an injury doubt.

To people arguing against the place of the chips in the game, how much affect do they have in the grand scheme of things? TC is just a 39th captaincy token and BB adds 4 more players to the 418 other players you'll field in a season. Sure they can be used to wonk a H2H match and give a false standing mid=season for people that use them early but they should only equate to between 1 and 2 percent of your final score.

AoA seems pointless. I like the other 2.
I'd like to see the 2nd WC dumped, never liked it. Maybe a "change captain once a season after the matches" instead of AoA would be good.

Ditching wildcards would be great IMO, really reward the planners who look ahead 5,6,7,8 weeks 🙂

Have all my chips still. Interested in using AOA this gameweek,

Reckon a lot of people will take hits or not get 11 out so AOA could be good and get a good jump up the rankings.

        thats the plan anyway

when your rivals actually know how to play the game, using the chips in a 'smart' way and getting a little lucky in the process can decide your ML, imo

        • 12 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

Right, of course but going differential and getting lucky could happen before the chips too. TC is the only one really amplifying 'luck' but its only doubling one bit of 'luck' out of a hundred opportunities over the season.

the way i see it, i'm leading my ML by about 15 pts. i have BB chip, rival doesn't. that means i'm gona win god damnit!

very fair point actually! I think because my ML is so close and everyone has yet to use them it's going to make winning very hard now.

A triple captain in a double gameweek could be huge. As could bench boost.
I don't really see why the chips were needed, presumably to keep new players interested . I have saved mine for the double gameweek while other (less experienced) players in mini leagues used then randomly. I am now set to use them in the double game weeks and go further ahead. Feels likes cat playing with a dying mouse.

this, it's one players score six times over! could decide a ML unfortunately

Was a noob to the FPL in August thought you could play a chip every week, Triple captained rooney in my first match vs Spurs lol. He got an assist so least it wasnt a blank lol.

would prefer BB in a big DGW, if it was planned properly, you could have nearly 30 players playing. I think this would have more of an impact than a triple captain.

Haha I like the chase, silently edging closer waiting for the moment to pounce. I think its a good move to FPL to keep players interested for longer and expand its reach without really changing the game too much.

The issue is that I think with all the fixture changes I believe that there will be more than one double gw with fewer double teams in each gw ...I'm not sure they'll plant them all with one gw i think it could spread out which is not the best thing. If anyone has confirmed info on this let us know.

My OR doesn't matter so much to me this year (as its so bad hehe)
But I'm playing 1v1 with my friend in ML and I can lose/win about 600/780 euro
He was 150pts ahead 4 GWs ago, countinously getting lucky.
I'm 89 points behind him now and he has used this all 3 chips already, just WC left. I still have TC, BB, and WC and feel as this could decide our ML if I play it right and have a little bit of luck of course!

Arnie -> Siggy ... It is unnecessary trade, right?

    Butland
    Fuchs - VVD - Toby - Kompany
    Mahrez - Alli - Arnie
    Kane - Kun - Vardy

If kolarov and targett dont start next week, i wont be able to field 11.

    thus:
    A) Targett to williams (ML rival is 8 points ahead with williams and a very similar team)
    B) Kolarov to Kompany
    C) Payet to Silva/Yaya
    D) Ozil to silva/yaya

    cheers!

I can only field 11 if Targett starts but tbh I would be happy with a 1 minute cameo. Desperately need Arsenal to win in the cup though as I have none of their players.

8 points is nothing so don't let that effect any decision u make.
I personally will go with 10 rather than make a defensive change for a hit. C or D could easily pay off for a minus 4 though

Norwich have been very leaky at the back at home and tbh they are a poor team. City could very easily hammer them despite their struggles on the road

Kun in-form. City goals more likely come from him. Spurs have variety players to score. Alli, Eriksen, Chadli, even their defenders get many goals too like Alder & Dier.

Kane is a good pick, but maybe Kun is better.

We will wait and see. Thanx mate 😉

With this info, will you keep armband with Aguero ?

Facts : City have scored just 13 goals away this season.

    > 1 goal less than Swansea
    > 1 goal more than Norwich
    > 2 goals more than Villa / WBA / Saints
    > 11 goals less than Spurs
    > 15 goals less than Leicester

Also, if you plan to buy, will you get City MF this week ?

Quite confident in them. I'm a bit surprised after I saw their away performance.

          • 12 Years
          10 years, 4 months ago

Their away schedule has been hard but from here on out its pretty easy. These are their away games vs bottom half teams:

          W 3-0
          W 2-0
          W 2-1
          W 1-0
          W 1-0
          D 0-0

The draw with Villa was a bit freak but I back them to beat Norwich and probably to nil.

Hey guys need some help with my team

    DDG (Henn)

    Toby, Simpson, Azpi, Monreal, VvD

    Mahrez, Ozil, Alli, Arnie, Payet

    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    2FT, 0.6m itb

Well I first need to get a keeper for GW 30, I narrowed it down to Hart or Butland, Who would be a better option?

Second, assuming Arsenal win, I would only have 10 players for GW 30, should I get rid of Payet for Yaya Toure or any other mids that cost less than 8.5M? If so, who should i get in? Siggy?

    1. NLB
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 16 Years

Hart is the best keeper option, also has a DGW sometime.

If Arsenal win, both Yaya and Siggy are great options as Payet replacement.

Maybe Yaya over Siggy for a similar reason as Hart--DGW.

    Hey DZ-

Team for GW30, need to make a move to get 11 playing (assuming Arsenal beats Hull):

    Lloris
    Toby VVD Cedric Simpson
    Yaya Siggy Mahrez
    Aguero Vardy
Subs: Henn Stanislas Bellerin Ozil Ighalo
    2 FT, +4.6 ITB

Pretty set on Ighalo to Kane this week and save the other transfer.

    Sound good?

I was looking to get in Silva/Yaya (likely the former) but damn if I don't like my team as it is..an obvious choice to sell for him is Eriksen (though only 2 blanks in a row), but he has Villa! Tough! Tempted to just save a FT this week..current setup below, 1 FT 2.1m available:

    ..........................Butland
Williams - Van Dijk - Alderweireld - Simpson
    ..........Eriksen - Sigurdsson - Mahrez
    ..............Kane - Vardy - Aguero(c)

    McCarthy; Ozil, Payet, Ward

Nice 4-3-3, I'm doing the same this week.

You can field a strong 11 without a transfer, I say keep it. Will come in handy as the DGWs and future blanks come in. Also I prefer Yaya as the better FPL option over Silva.

If you had a decent 4th defender sub would you risk Danny Rose for a few weeks? I don't own Alder and want spurs defensive coverage. Dier is on 9 yellows and Wimmer has little attacking potential plus Vert coming back. I'm doing ok, but a punt could pay off big style and Ben Davies should play both Europa legs.

        ok i will tell you

With pnly 11 fit players you want the 12th player to be a defender because then all positions are covered in the event of a non appearance by one of your 11

If you choose a mid or striker then if one of your defenders dont start he cannot be replaced.

in that you have to start 3 defenders. so if you have an injury in any position (apart from gk), the spare defender can come off the bench. not the case if you lose a defender and have one of the others on the bench.

Depends on the formation of your 11 fit players.

For 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 the best cover is a defender.

For 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 the best cover is a forward.

For 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-3-2 or 5-2-3, it makes no difference.

Yeah have WC. Will decide next week on when to play it but leaning towards GW33.

Ward to Wollschield imo, since Butland is on the bench here. S'ton unlikely to score with their goalscorers out injured.

Yes could do that. If I get Kompany I will play Butland and bench Hart.

Any reason why? Had a look at both of their bps tallies and from memory Otamendi edges it so more likely for baps

I think Kompany is slightly more nailed. Haven't looked at Balders' BAP spreadsheet but Otamendi gets a lot of CBI but makes up for it with the cards

Kompany for me too yeah (as I think Otamendi can be dropped)

norwich scored in most home games and soton has problem scoring especially long and austin out.

Butland imo. Southampton's attack is jaded upfront with injuries. Pelle & Mane not in form.

Considering my awesome moves left me with 0.0ITB last week, it showed me (for the first time really) that TV actually has an importance.
