In spite of a five-match Gameweek, there’s still plenty to pore over in our first members’ article of the week. We cast an eye over City’s troubles on the road, Bournemouth’s upturn in output, Marko Arnautovic’s home comforts and the contrasting fortunes of Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy up front in recent matches.

Is Everton - Palace game in gw35 even possible?

Re-repost. Could use a few opinions guys.

No wildcard. Does this seem like a reasonable gameweek 34 bench boost team in that case? I can get there with three hits. Eleven double gameweekers. One transfer for gameweek 35 gives me a playing eleven.

    Butland, Elliot
Bellerin, Funes Mori, Dawson, Clyne, Fuchs
    Payet, Mahrez, Ozil, Firmino, Lingard
    Kane, Aguero, Lukaku

Looks good to me. Kane can easily outscore dgw strikers like Martial, Ighalo, Deeney etc.

Might even keep him as a only sgw player

Yeah, I said that last night. Even if I had my wildcard still, I'm not sure I'd get rid of somone like him just to get fifteen double gameweek players.

Yeah, I'm benching Kompany this week and saving my transfer till we have more information. It actually kind of helps this week in a funny way. I was struggling to decide who to bench.

I think Sakho is more of a risk of rotation. Clyne missed 1 game for a rest. I doubt if it is a rotation risk.

      I've 2 FT's, so no saving.
Either the most safe 6-9 points from Williams, or a punt on PvA

    Defence is:

    Elliot (Hennessey)
    Toby Simpson Wollscheid (Kompany VVD)

    2FT. Planning a GW33 WC. Which move?

    (A) Hennessey to Fabianski (Use AOA to play Payet (che) and bench Wollscheid (war))
    (B) Kompany to Williams (save AOA)
    (C) Both A and B and save AOA.

For those who have played their wildcard, what is your plan for GW34?
    A) Take hits to have 15 DGW players because the stars are aligned for BB.
    B) Bring in as many DGW players as possible using FTs while keeping good SGW players and still BB (probably the most realistic option).
    C) BB another time (is GW35 an option -- 6 out of 7 fixtures are top half teams vs. bottom half teams).

    1. Zareos
      • 11 Years

B but with a WC to use

      1. 1NVINCIBLES
        • 10 Years

        So that's roughly 11 DGW + 4 SGW players?

I presume you're keeping Mahrez and Kane?

    2. Cilly Bonnolly
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 14 Years

B for me. With three hits I can have the following team

      Butland, Elliot
Bellerin, Funes Mori, Dawson, Clyne, Fuchs
      Payet, Mahrez, Ozil, Firmino, Lingard
      Kane, Aguero, Lukaku

Eleven doublers along with Butland, Fuchs, Mahrez and Kane. Going to bench boost too and one transfer gives me eleven for gameweek 35.

True. I bought Kompany for 6.2 so I can afford one drop, but I'm starting to worry about funds for my gw33 wildcard. If I want say

Firmino Payet Mahrez (keeping) Özil Wijnaldum
            Aguero Lukaku Kane (keeping)

I don't have too much to spend on defensive players.

I have 4 DGW's for GW 34 and strangely I feel it is enough with future transfers.
I will keep Kane Mahrez Alders anyway which means I will have 8 DGW's by that time barring injuries and still have 11 playing GW35. I will get in Pool Everton x 2 and maybe a hit to cover the loss of Kompany which a few will do anyway. Payet and Lukaku on the bench for GW 35 but will get DGw's anyway later. Mahrez will go GW36.
    make sense?

15 GW34 DGW'ers and 11 GW37 DGW'ers requires three Liverpool players from GW34 to GW37. Firmino's obvious, and a defender or keeper looks a decent shout, but who are you getting as the third Pool player ?

So Firmino, Ozil, Payet, Lukaku and Aguero are pretty much essential for the first DGW (as things stand)

      A. Looks like Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Shaw

      B. Now is Varela/Darmian - Smalling - Blind/Carrick - Rojo/Blind

AFAIK. I'm not sure if Rojo is nailed on. Same issue here. Hopeufully things become a bit clearer by the time we have to WC.

Anyone else feel a TC would be better in GW 37? can't see any juicy fixtures in GW 34, city have newcastle, but away, arsenal at home to dogged west brom, payet TC GW 37?

UFPL question. Sorry if this is obvious but I can't find it in the rules. In a DGW can you substitute a player out and then back in again for their second game later in the week? I assume you'd lose their first set of points but being able to do this may still be useful. Or once you've subbed them is that it for the week?

Is Jags still first choice at Everton?

Yep, though I'm concerned about either him or Funes Mori making way for Stones at some point. Jagielka is the most sure starter of the 3.

When KDB is back, Kun may no longer be essential. Has Aguero ever yielded decent pointdls in a dgw?

Hmmm...it's a brave man to go without both.

Striker slots will be crucial. Might be worth keeping Kane instead of Kun.

Lukaku looks set to rise tonight, guess he could rise once more this GW with DGW news spreading. Otoh Vardy fixtures : cry - SOU - sun look better on paper than ARS - mun - wat. Though I'd fancy Luka to score against Arsenal if not away against mun and wat.

So Vardy owners, keeping or selling for Lukaku this GW?

Also thinking better wait until next week, but then otoh I'll need all the TV I can get for wildcard. But if Lukaku should blank this GW, his price rise may come to a halt for now

Already made the move, Everton are more free scoring than Leiceter right now. Lukaku can really bully Arsenal
