It’s time to drop into the Weekly Shop for our final Wednesday article, as we analyse the player lists of our partner games to highlight the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As always, the player analysis is split into two sections: I’ll break down the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Crystal Palace travel to Upton Park where West Ham have been resilient of late, keeping five clean sheets in seven home matches. With 15 saves and five bonus points over his last four appearances, Adrian (FantasyBet 5m, DraftKings $4,000) could be worth the extra investment compared to more budget-friendly keeper options. In midfield, Dimitri Payet (FantasyBet 7.5m, DraftKings $8,600) carried his league form into the international friendlies by netting a trademark free-kick against Russia, and the Frenchman’s two goals and four assists in five make him difficult to ignore.

Chelsea will be optimistic of extending their 14-match unbeaten league run when they visit Villa Park on Saturday lunchtime. While the Blues have been porous at Stamford Bridge, they have four clean sheets in six on the road and Branislav Ivanovic (FantasyBet 6.5m, DraftKings $4,100) offers the opportunity of points at both ends of the pitch against a team destined for the Championship.

Arsenal’s 2-0 victory at Goodison Park was a promising result for those considering investment in the Gunners ahead of Watford’s visit. The Hornets travel to the Emirates with a single shut-out in nine away trips and Hector Bellerin (FantasyBet 5.5m, DraftKings $4,200) offers the form route into the hosts’ rearguard with three assists over the last two outings.

In midfield, picking between Mesut Ozil (FantasyBet 9.5m, DraftKings $8,000) and Alexis Sanchez (FantasyBet 11m, DraftKings Forward $7,800) is once again a conundrum. The former has been more consistent in the long-term but the Chilean’s goal and a pair of assists over the last three hints at a return to form. A potentially rewarding and cheaper alternative has emerged further up the field, though, with Danny Welbeck (FantasyBet 7m, DraftKings $5,500) bagging three goals and an assist in five since returning from injury.

Sergio Aguero (FantasyBet 13m, DraftKings $8,800) may have blanked in three of his last four outings but travels to a Bournemouth team that have leaked six goals over their previous three. Despite his recent toils, the Argentine has fired 14 attempts in the box over the last four – joint-top along with Harry Kane. With City still limited by injuries in midfield, he may well be paired with Wilfried Bony (FantasyBet 8m, DraftKings $4,900) once again. While the Ivorian has not been on the pitch as much as Aguero, his 11 attempts in the box compares favourably, earning the forward a high placing in Jonty’s Goals Imminent table.

Poundstretchers

An injury to Joe Hart should see Willy Caballero (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $2,900) earn a rare stint between the sticks as City travel to Bournemouth. Manuel Pellegrini’s men have allowed their opponents a mere 11 shots inside the box in the last four – less than any other side.

Norwich are looking to chalk up a third straight clean sheet as relegation rivals Newcastle roll up to Carrow Road. Timm Klose’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $2,400) defensive displays have been key to the Canaries improvement, with the centre-half earning five bonus points in the last two Gameweeks. Wes Hoolahan (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $3,800) has chipped in with two goals and a pair of assists in his last four home appearances and looks a value option amongst Alex Neil’s attack.

After three successive draws, Sunderland will be hoping to give their survival bid a shot in the arm as West Brom visit the Stadium of Light. Patrick van Aanholt’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $3,900) five goals from defence this term is only equalled by Scott Dann, Wahbi Khazri (FantasyBet 6m, DraftKings $5,400) continues to return some promising attacking numbers, while Jermain Defoe (FantasyBet 5m, DraftKings $4,700) has scored in back-to-back outings and also looks a good value option against the Baggies, who have kept a single clean sheet in four matches.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups heading into the midweek fixtures. Tomorrow I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

Seriously considering it, trouble is I would only have 6 DGW players for 34, which maybe too low, although my other sgw players have good fixtures and my midfield and forward line don't need any changing , how many can you field?

          I can feild 9 doubles. And 3 in 33

Only a minus four needed for me. In total. I'm seeing better potential of WCing in 36

Ok, guys would really appreciate some suggestions on this lot. 2FT 1.7 itb

    Ruddy - Butland

    Kolarov - Toby - Fuchs - Moreno - Francis

    Ozil - Siggy - Arnie - Mahrez - Alli

    Aguero - Kane - Vardy

Too soon to bring Lukaku in for Vardy? And obviously defence is in shambles, maybe Bellerin for Moreno?

    Repost. Bottomed out.
Back to the business at hand:
For a gw33 wc, I really want a City defender. Nice home fixtures in 33 and 35, and the double in 34 is not terrible. But who?
Otamendi is an idea, but sooo expensive. Clichy fits the budget, but surely Kolarov gets a game soon? Mangala looks like a good pick until Kompany is back, but if that is for gw35, that lessens Mangala's appeal... I'm turning around in circles.
Maybe I should just bite the bullet and go for Otamendi. Downgrade Smalling to Rojo... to make room in the budget.
    Thoughts? Thanks.

Hart should be back soon. May even play this week.
        Gk spots are trickier, though.
I'm all set on Cech and Robles... they rotate well through the end of the season.

            • 13 Years
            10 years, 11 days ago

            That is a possibility.
I have my heart set on double Arsenal defence, though. Apart from Cech and Bellerin, the other spots are sure to see some rotation. Monreal might work, though.
Getting Hart would mean a headache in gw33, as I'd need to play both ars defenders.
            Thanks.

There is some correlation between there abysmal form and Bolasie's absence, but still not enough to tempt me.

I only find him interesting for 33, would probably trade him to Milner for 34

    WC33

    DDG - Migs
    Coleman - Bellerin - Sakho - 4.7m - Simpson
    Ozil - Firminho - Barkley - Mahrez - Bolaise
    Aguero - Lukaku - Martial

    2 x FTs & a hit to get 11 out for GW35

    any suggestions for 4.7m def?

Bellerin to Monreal would allow for this or even to Kossa

Surprisingly the first Coleman I've seen. Could be gold.

All in all I like it. Ward/Delaney could be worth a punt with 2 plum home ties. Janmaat at 4.8 is just out of reach. Maybe Evans?

Coleman vs Cresswell for me. Still debating but think I'm tempted by WHU fellow.

Hey lads, on a WC and looking at having 3 Pool players due to their double and blank week fixtures.

Currently on Sakho Coutinho Firmino. Any way of improving

I'm WC this week too and having 3 Liv is essential if you want to max out the DGW's... I'm going double def though with Sakho, Clyne and Coutinho

I'm on the same. Don't trust forwards, want cheaper keepers - the only possible change is Sakho > Moreno but concensus on here seems to be that he'll likely rotate with Flanagan for one game

Just for a bit of perspective I thought I'd share a nugget I've learned through multiple dbl gws over the years.

It is all about quality not quantity.

What the above means is that dbl gws are all about having the right players in not necessarily the most players in. I see a lot of wc teams that are shoehorning in dbl gw players that are not the optimal options but because it allows them a maximum exposure to the dbl gws.

Personally my favoured draft at the moment involves a hit, ignoring palace players and only playing 10 in gw35 (BB 34). Whether this works out or not is subject to the vagaries of results but in my experience I'm giving myself the best chance of points by going the road I am planning.

Best of luck with the planning

Exactly why i'm WC in 36. Already have the quality (Ozil Alexis Firmino Belleirn Aguero) in place πŸ™‚

TBF you are around long enough to know what you are doing Lateriser so no need to teach you how to suck eggs.

Personally I don't really have much interest in Aguero and Ozil and I think with a wc in 33 we can have a much stronger bench boost in 34 where the juicy fixtures are. This is only a preference thing though and I can see the benefit of the way you are going too.

What to do this week then?

    Schmeichel
    Azpilicueta - Rose - Williams
    Sissoko - Alli - Sigurdsson - Mahrez
    Aguero - Vardy - Kane

    Hennessey - Silva - Daniels - Bertrand

1 FT and wildcarding next week.

I'm thinking Sanchez in for Silva or Payet in for Sissoko. Possibly bench one of my defenders who are all away from home and play AoA?

    Thoughts?

Not the biggest fan of Silva right now either but potential for points against Bournemouth?

        Payet (c) + Silva v Sanchez (c) + Sissoko essentially

are we all sure darlow is going to play?

isn't that Goodman playing brilliantly for England under 19s?

Could he not be first choice now? Darlow had a shocker the one game he played...

We're not 100% it'll be Darlow, but I think if I had to put my faith in a goalkeeper during a relegation scrap, my money would be on the one with more experience, i.e. Darlow. Will probably be his shirt to lose
