It’s time for a visit to the Weekly Shop now, as we analyse the player lists of our partner games to highlight the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As always, the player analysis is split into two sections: I’ll break down the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Better Buys

Chelsea kept a fifth clean sheet in seven away ties at Aston Villa and are on the road once again this weekend, with a trip to the Liberty Stadium up next. Swansea have failed to score in around a third of their matches in front of their own fans – blanking in six of 16 outings – which boosts our faith in Thibaut Courtois (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $4,100). The Blues’ number one has picked up 12 saves over the last four and has a good chance for a shutout in a round where clean sheets could be thin on the ground.

With a single goal conceded in the last four, Manchester City have been the most resilient rearguard around in recent weeks. Nicolas Otamendi (FantasyBet 6.5m, Draftkings $3,400) missed the match against Manchester United so has returned three consecutive clean sheets and is our pick of defenders for the visit of West Brom. The Baggies were dispatched 3-0 at the Hawthorns on the opening day of the season and a similar scoreline is on the cards this weekend.

Kevin De Bruyne (FantasyBet 10.5m, Draftkings $7,700) netted in the midweek Champions League clash with PSG, making it back-to-back goals since returning from injury. Although Manuel Pellegrini will have one eye on the European return leg, City still need to secure a top-four finish and the Belgian could thrive against the Baggies if he retains a central role behind Sergio Aguero.

Two goals and three assists over the four Gameweeks indicates that Alexis Sanchez (FantasyBet 11m) has finally rediscovered his top form. A trip to West Ham will be a tougher test than last week’s clash with Watford but the Chilean’s 11 attempts and 13 chances created over those four outings – compared to Mesut Ozil’s six and eight respectively – makes him the more effective weapon of choice for those investing in the Gunners attack.

Although Southampton were nullified by Leicester City’s resilient defence last weekend, we’re keeping faith in Graziano Pelle (FantasyBet 8m, Draftkings $5,600). The Italian picked up three goals and served up two assists in two appearances prior to his King Power visit and with 14 attempts and eight chances created in his previous four league outings, will fancy his chances against a Newcastle defence with one clean sheet in 16 attempts.

Poundstretchers

Watford are on a dismal run of form, having found the net just once in five outings and could struggle again at Vicarage Road with the visit of Everton. Joel Robles (FantasyBet 4m, Draftkings $3,800) has recorded two clean sheets in seven appearances since ousting Tim Howard, though has limited his opponents to a single goal on three other occasions.

We’re backing Charlie Daniels (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $4,500) to bring in the points as Bournemouth make their way to Villa Park. Granted, the Cherries have been defensively dire in recent weeks but a clean sheet could be on the cards, bearing in mind that their hosts have failed to score in four successive matches. Daniels’ three goals and five assists highlight his potential at the other end of the pitch against the basement-dwellers.

The match at Upton Park throws up a pair of budget midfielders who have both scored in back-to-back matches. Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $3,400) and West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $3,900) provide cheap routes into sides at the top end of the table, in a clash that should yield goals.

A hard-fought draw at West Ham suggests that Crystal Palace could be worth our investment this time around. The Eagles welcome fellow strugglers Norwich to Selhurst Park knowing that a win would take them six points clear of the Canaries and Yannick Bolasie (FantasyBet 6m, Draftkings $6,300) could be crucial to their prospects. Having produced both his double-figure hauls at home this season, the DR Congo international is an intriguing pick against a defence with one clean sheet in their travels all season.

Alexandre Pato (FantasyBet 7m, Draftkings $4,500) marked his Chelsea debut with a converted penalty and assist to bring the Brazilian onto our radars for the trip to Swansea. With Diego Costa still suspended and Loic Remy ruled out of the trip to Wales due to injury, the Brazilian offers a bargain route into a Blues frontline that have scored eight goals in their last three on the road.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups. Tomorrow I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

Current WC Team, please all thoughts appreciated!

    Robles/Darlow

    Simpson-Bellerin-Delaney-Gabriel-Steven Taylor(Mainly a filler)

    Sanchez-Coutinho-Payet-KDB-Mahrez

    Kane-Aguero-Lukaku

.2 ITB downgrade Kane to Martial which allows me to upgrade Taylor, or upgrade Delaney after his DGW to Smalling, or hold Kane?

Why is no one talking about Steven Taylor? Great enabler at 3.8m, plays GW35, started 6 out of the last 7 matches. Any Newcastle fans know if he's nailed?

He is nailed I think, the only game he didn't play was because he caught up an injury before the game.
Stay away of NEW defense imo, played him more than once when I had him, once he got an OG (had Bellerin and Toby on the bench, on the 2-2 match) and the other one he got me just 1 point.

As much as people will knock this, it's fair comment when plenty are putting in a CPL defender (no CS in 12).

I won't be touching any of them, but if you need an enabler why not.

Isn't Colocinni coming back? And you have Mbemba, who always plays. and Lescelles.

Will Taylor even continue to play?

        And it's Newcastle.

Too much to worry about for me.

I'd find a couple of pence and go elsewhere.

Can't afford this team, who would you sacrifice?

    Mignolet, DDG
    Bellerin, Delaney, Simpson, Sakho, Gabriel
    KDB, Coutinho, Payet, Mahrez, Sanchez
    Martial, Lukaku, Aguero

    Downgrade:
    A. Sanchez to Ozil
    B. Payet to X
    C. Mahrez to X
    D. Martial to X

X is probably one of Iwobi/Lennon/Lingard/Lanzini/Bolasie.

To me it looks like Darmian is pretty much nailed and worth a risk 😐

In his last 12 gws he has started them all except in gw28 when he was eased back from injury. Main question is that will he get subbed before 60mins? Lvg has done it twice in those 12 gws.

ManU defensive coverage is surely needed for DGW34.

The only ones who looked totally nailed are DDG and Smalling, both expensive.

For me, Darmian is next, surely ahead of Rojo.

He very well could play most games. I think he should. He plays left back as well. There are a couple of problems. 1. There are a large and growing number of fullbacks breathing down his neck. Valencia, Jones, Varela, Young, some youngsters. . .and 2. LVG is unpredictable. He's liable to play Valencia now that he's healthy and bench Darmian.

If you can't afford DDG or Smalling, he might be worth a go.

    B) Bellerin, Smalling, Lovren and Antonio.

Mahrez has scored against all the 3 next opponents in the first fixture

    Sunderland - 2 Goals
    West Ham - 1 Goal
    Swansea - 3 Goals

Its so hard to drop a player with almost 70% ownership. Can swing either way

I think it's something to think about, depending on the rest of your team.

On first glance, it looks silly. Mahrez is probably player of the year. When I look deeper, I see Leicester playing in a different manner now, more defensively, grinding out wins. Mahrez gets subbed for defensive purposes when they have a lead.

Of course he is explosive. He's shown he's a great player. He could return double digits any week.

Milner has 2 DGW's coming up. He has been steady, plays almost always, and is on penalties.

The switch is at least something I would ponder.

2 CS is 12 points; Sanchez could get that in one match easyily; he's also captaincy contender

    Which better option?

    A) Rojo, Sakho, Martial
    B) Smalling, Lovern, Rashford

Hard to fit with too many other expensive ones eg Aguero, KDB, Sanchez, Lukaku

I am for Lanzini but will likely get him back GW36

My main problem at the moment is only having 10 for 35 with Lanzini as an enabler - there doesn't seem to be anyone who I'd want to change him for...

        Possibly Iwobi?

Possibly. Would mean losing Gabriel away at Sunderland which might not be the worst thing. Rotation dependent, though...

Think 10 is good to go. I am currently looking at 9 and fine with it. Most here will be fielding only 10 I think.

Agreed, 10 for me too, unless I feel like a hit will work out better come the time

        A) Cech - Morgan - Monreal - Lingard - Mitrovic
        OR
        B) De Gea - Simpson - Gabriel - Iwobi - Martial

Leaning towards B at the minute. All opinions welcome. Thanks

        Mahrez > Iwobi
        Kane > Martial

        Reasonable moves?
Frees up cash to get Sanchez, KDB, Payet, Cout/Firm in midfield and Smalling in defence

        Hennessy (Migs)
        Sakho Clichy Simpson (Bellerin, Gabriel)
        Payet Mahrez Coutinho Ozil (Lanzini)
        Kun Kane Kaku

G2G for 2 weeks with Kane to Martial just for the double?

Only 1DGWer and it's Hennessy! I assume you're not on WC, which if that's the case it's pretty impressive.

I've got Kaku this week too, but I've got no faith in either teams this week really. Very prepped for next week though I feel

        On a WC..Current team is

        Robles Darlow
        Jagielka Gabriel Simpson Sakho Delaney
        Sanchez KDB Ozil Payet Coutinho
        Aguero Lukaku Mitrovic

Is my defence too lightweight? Should I downgrade Ozil to Firmino/Barkley and upgrade my defence? Any advice will be appreciated
