Daniel Sturridge grabs a goal and assist as a much-changed Liverpool get the better of Bournemouth. Alexis Sanchez and Yannick Bolasie both find the net in a 1-1 stalemate at the Emirates, whilst Jamie Vardy is sent off as Leicester and West Ham share the spoils at the King Power.

Sturridge wins it for Reds

A much-changed Liverpool side recorded a 2-1 victory at Bournemouth to cap off a sensational week.

Promoting a veritable meltdown within the Fantasy community, Roberto Firmino was the only survivor from the Redsโ€™ team that vanquished Borussia Dortmund on Thursday, ensuring that Philippe Coutinho, James Milner and the first-choice defenders and Simon Mignolet were absent from the starting XI.

The 32,000 managers that invested faith in Firmino were richly rewarded as the Brazilian midfielder popped up with his fourth goal in six starts. Daniel Sturridge registered a goal (Jordon Ibe) and assist, validating 50,000 managers that took a calculated risk recruiting a frontman thatโ€™s tallied four goals and two assists in five outings. The fit-again Sturridge has now started Liverpoolโ€™s last four league outings and with Divock Origi a minor doubt for the midweek Merseyside derby, may well retain his role in Kloppโ€™s XI.

Notwithstanding the form of the above-mentioned duo, Liverpoolโ€™s progress in the Europa League makes it nigh-on impossible to accurately predict their line-ups. With the upcoming clashes against Villarreal taking place on April 28 and May 5, yesterdayโ€™s ten alterations are perhaps indicative of what we may come to expect as Klopp looks to end the season with silverware.

In-form King bags another

Bournemouth fell to their third defeat in four outings and have now shipped eight goals in their previous trio of home clashes.

Despite his sideโ€™s problems in defence, the 4.3-priced midfielder Joshua King continues to impress. Fielded up front once again, his late consolation (Andrew Surman assist) means he has now found the net in four of the last six Gameweeks, highlighting his out-of-position budget potential. Although the Cherriesโ€™ embark on a perilous run-in (CHE, eve, WBA, mun), the Norwegian marksmanโ€™s latent value is hard to ignore.

Sanchez strike not enough for Gunners

Arsenal failed to capitalise on their territorial dominance at the Emirates as they recorded a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

To the relief of managers that were burned in the early fixtures, Arsene Wenger rejected the opportunity to rotate the likes of Gabriel and enacted a solitary change, recalling Petr Cech for David Ospina.

The runaway winner in our Captain Poll, Alexis Sanchez, came up trumps with his fourth goal in five starts. Looking at the remaining schedule, match-ups against Sunderland (away), Norwich City (home) and Aston Villa (home) could help maintain his explosive run of form to cap of the Chileanโ€™s topsy-turvy season.

Mesut Ozil posted his fifth blank in six appearances, prompting the Germanโ€™s 43% ownership to weigh up their options. Given Sanchezโ€™s clinical finishing of late and Alex Iwobiโ€™s emergence as a cut-price route into Arsenalโ€™s offense, Ozilโ€™s stock has diminished slightly on the Fantasy market.

Danny Welbeck laid on the assist for Sanchezโ€™s header but has now failed to score in five of his last six outings, increasing his risk of rotation and Olivier Giroudโ€™s case for a starting berth ahead of Thursday nightโ€™s home match with West Brom.

Bolasie earns Eagles a point

Palace are unbeaten in four matches and seemingly safe from relegation following their stalemate in North London.

Sold by over 20,000 FPL managers after failing to earn any points in last weekโ€™s pair of home matches against Norwich and Everton, Yannick Bolasie rewarded his patient owners by scoring the equaliser (Emmanuel Adebayor assist) nine minutes from time. The DR Congo international will do well to further his tally in this round of fixtures, considering that the Eagles are next pitted against a Man United side thatโ€™s surrendered just seven goals at home all term. With a blank Gameweek 35 up next, though, an imminent exodus looks on the cards.

Vardy dismissed as Foxes salvage point

Leicester City shared the spoils with West Ham United in an incident-laden 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium.

Jamie Vardyโ€™s resurgence continued with his third goal โ€“ courtesy of an assist from Nโ€™Golo Kante โ€“ in two outings, but the Foxes lone striker was later sent off for earning a second yellow card. Owned by 47% of FPL managers, he now sits out the promising home encounter against Swansea City next time out, whilst reports suggest that the manner in which he reacted to the dismissal could potentially land him an extended ban.

Elsewhere in the Foxes camp, Leonardo Ulloa bagged from the penalty spot, with Jeffrey Schlupp grabbing the assist. Riyad Mahrez registered his third consecutive blank, yet his 64% ownership will remain optimistic as Leicester prepare to host a Swansea outfit that ranks joint-bottom for clean sheets on the road (one).

Carroll in the goals again

West Ham United succumbed to a late equaliser in the East Midlands but nevertheless extended their unbeaten league run to eight matches.

In response to his teamโ€™s midweek cup exertions against Man United, Slaven Bilic opted to rotate against the league leaders, demoting Andy Carroll (50,000 new owners) and Manuel Lanzini (35,000 new owners) to the bench. Michail Antonioโ€™s 10,000 new backers were also left frustrated by the managerโ€™s decision not to relinquish him of his defensive duties โ€“ despite the fact that the Hammers had James Tomkins and Sam Byram on the bench.

With regards to the Ironsโ€™ Fantasy output, Carroll lays claim to five goals in four outings after converting a spot-kick (Winston Reid assist) and looks poised to return to the starting line-up for the midweek visit of Watford.

Aaron Cresswell reaffirmed his status at the prime route into West Hamโ€™s rearguard, notching his second goal of the campaign. With trips to West Brom and Stoke bookending a double Gameweek 37, the raiding left-back could be poised for further returns over the run-in.

Currently on 9 players for GW35.

3 of these are Coutinho, Sakho and Moreno. 1 of them is Nasri.

    -24 anyone?

I did a -16 this gw and it's working out so far....did have the luxury of BB and a dgw to help claw the points back though and without the three non starters could have been even better.

This is it, I won't be the only one who plays with less than 11 men in GW35, no chance. A lot of us were kinda relying on triple Liverpool in 35.

Yep, common on here as triple Liverpool looked the way to go. But sadly I'm the only person with Liverpool assets in my league!

I think the suggested transfers of Kane and Defoe are very solid anyway.

Usually when people transfer Ozil or Sanchez out, the other starts scoring.

          5.6m allows for maybe a S'oton defender?

After Lescott's comments about playing without pressure now i feel as though they may start scoring (very silly hunch lol). Hoped that Kolarov had dropped some more but cant afford him, will scout out options, maybe take a punt on Rose/Soton this week and get in a WHA defender next week.

It would be typical if that happened but watching Sanchez yesterday was very scary.

I definitely would. If your keeper plays and doesn't concede 2 then it's only effectively a -2 which you can easily take on the chin no matter your situation. Then with the possibility of save points, cleanie and bonus, there is a fair chance you can make some points out of the deal.

    4. Cradders
      • 11 Years

If the keeper you bring in keeps a clean sheet then it's probably worth it tbh. Take Schmeichel for example, a clean sheet will even out the hit. 2 points for appearance and potentially bonus points. You just have to find a keeper you are sure will keep a clean sheet

For those struggling to field 11, maybe ship Payet instead of Coutinho for Mane, and then Mane back to Payet in gw36? If Coutinho does play gw35, holding him increases the odds of having more starters. Payet is definitely not playing gw35.

an extra transfer though which you could use for getting in more DGW37 players

I am not bothered by that, and I feel that I have learnt a lesson about loading up on DGW players. There are different strategies, and using a transfer to get a guy who may hit the proverbial home run is a calculated risk worth considering.

which of the below 3 Pool players is most prone to rotation do you think?

    1) Sakho
    2) Clyne
    3) Coutinho

Can't afford to take hits to get them all out but at least 1 will have to go ๐Ÿ™

Looking at that lineup yesterday, all 3 are 75%+ to be rotated.

Really?? I'd say they are far more likely to play if they were rested at the weekend. Firmino will be rotated 100% IMO and Coutinho, Clyne, Moreno, Milner will all play. After all they weren't rotated due to poor form they were rotated due to rest for other commitments. Wednesday's game is 6 days after and 8 days before their most important games, that's enough time to rest up. It makes me wary for GW35 thogh

Feel for you, need to get rid of all
I would get rid of Clyne personally, you can bench Sakho and maybe play him in GW37(depends where they are in Europa) and that should be enough Liverpool cover in defence.
Can you field 11 in GW35 by benching Coutinho?
Also if Coutinho plays during the week he is unlikely to start on the weekend.

Not very safe. Before this weekend I'd have said only Rashford was at risk from Rooneys return.... But now nobody is safe (except Rooney himself)

probably only 1 will start with Rooney, but both will get minutes over the 2 games - if you want someone guaranteed to play both games in 37 look elsewhere

    Martial & Lukaku > Defoe & Kane (-4)

Will give me 11 players for GW35 (doubtful they'll all play but...) with Robles, Lanzini, Payet & Smalling on the bench. Time to ditch the played out of position/off-form underperformers for some people inform and with something to play for.

    Yay or Nay?

Nope. Slight possibility I might end up with Azpil for GW37, but that is just making up the DGW numbers rather than through any great conviction Chelsea will do well. They look like they're on their holidays already

For those that tripled on pool with coutinho sakho/lovren and mignolet have definitely drawn the short straw on the wildcard. Coutinho with no a minute so far then the rotation of cbs

    http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2016/April/Newcastle-v-City-Pellegrini-press-conference/1460975680#

"Kompany has been injured so the other defenders have done well, but he will be an important help for the defence."

On the prospect of Sterling starting the game at St James’ Park Pellegrini added: "We’ll see, he’s coming back from an important injury, we’ll see if he can play some minutes."

Pellegrini allayed fears over Frenchman Nasri, who has been so effective since his return from a six-month lay off, after he came off with a problem against Chelsea.

"He played 90 minutes weekend and then another 75, maybe it was too much," admitted the manager. "He was feeling well, it’s a small muscle injury, it’s not too important, we’ll see how many days."

    Darlow (Gomes)

    Sanchez, Mahrez, Firmino (Payet, Lanzini)
    Kane, Aguero (Martial)
