After a turbulent six days which dragged us through a series of emotional highs and lows, it’s fair to say that the ScoutCast team came out of Gameweek 34 with smiles and spirits intact.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke, just as the curtain fell on the most remarkable Gameweeks. Having laid down Wildcards and hopeful Bench Boost chips, we emerged unanimous in our praise for what proved a thrilling season highlight, whilst also adamant that the chips have revived the campaign climax.

That’s not to say that there weren’t some lessons learned: via another bout of questions from you, the community, we dissect Gameweek 34 and assess the twists and turns and decide whether we would do things differently next time around.

We also take time to look ahead, not just to this weekend’s curtailed fixture programme but also to Gameweek 37’s double fixtures – another opportunity for chips to come into play.

The ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

You can view the full Google Hangout version of this episode via the second player below or stream the edited audio from this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Do you guys remember the AOA(All Out Attack) chip ? Now this is kind of tricky, I still have it, and I don't know if I'm gonna need in the remaining weeks, now my team is:
    Mignolet (Robles)
    Bellerin (Smalling Delaney) Simpson Gabriel
    Coutinho Firmino Sanchez Alli Mahrez
    Aguero Kane Defoe

    Options:
    A) Play AOA and bench Gabriel
    B) No AOA & bench coutinho
    C) No AOA & bench Defoe

first comment, yay, didn't plan it for a second I swear...
Need opinions please, odds gab will start? odds cout. to start?
odds gab to get a cs? odds cout to score/assist?
I know defoe was 13/8 or 15/8 to score on paddy power...

1 AOA is a waste of space
2.Nothing to do this week but get rid of Coutinho later for Milner.

Any thoughts on Mitrovic playing time tomorrow?

Newcastle forums seem 50/50 on him starting which I guess seems about right.

I cannot think that Cissé would start 3 games in a row. But Benitez is as arrogant as LVG so who knows.

He's got four points out of 6 not starting him. You have to assume more of the same.

Surely Benitez can figure out that it's not because of Cissé that they're on form.

Well the presence of Mitrovic wouldn't seem to explain it either. To be fair, I haven't watched their recent games. Maybe Mitro has been a stud off the bench.

I keep thinking I should just pull the trigger to Defoe.

Problem is that would be a second hit.

  3. Les Bleus

First hit since GW9. How does she look. This for a -4:

    Darlow
    Sakho Lovren Gabriel Monreal
    Sanchez Alli KDB
    Kun Kane(c) Mitrovic

No bench and unfortunately some uncertainties in the starting XI (defence)

Looks good, besides the rotation risks...Any chance of taking another hit on one of your non-players for a bench option?

      1. Les Bleus
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 3 months ago

I've kept Payet and Lanzini for the DGW. The other non player is Darmian but I don't fancy taking a hit for a defender to be honest. But yeah if one of my starters doesn't start, I'm screwed 😛

        1. Ravager
          • 11 Years

Yup, that's my conundrum right now. Would have to take an extra hit to get in Defoe for Martial. Not sure if it's worth it. Have a healthy lead in my MLs but the chasers are casuals who kept their 3 LEI and Spurs etc so have XI regardless.

Yeah I think Spurs are essential for the run in regardless of the DGWs to be honest.

Although the need to take the hit at all it depends on how many other blanks/doubtful starters you have in your 15

If you have 11 starters and feel the need to bin a player for insurance, bin the definite non starter. Unless you have plans at some stage to have two Arsenal attackers, eg in GW38

Anyone else thinking Kane (C) over Aguero?

Both have exceptional form and are chasing the golden boot but I feel Kane has more motivation due to Spurs' title charge, and Aguero looks unlikely to play 90 with Real Madrid only a few days after the Stoke clash.

West Brom have actually been worse defensively than Stoke recently too.

Robles, Rojo, Sakho, Payet, Milner, Defoe and Sturridge. Rojo is risky and I wouldn't necessarily count on for 2 matches but I'm probably taking out Dawson and Delaney before him (for van Aanholt and West Ham defender in all likelihodd).

Liverpool boys are also rotation risks obviously but they did well for me last week and I'm keeping the faith.

Got 12 available. Think I'll roll the dice with coutinho, sakho, mitrovic, KDB, Moreno and Gabriel.

Looked at coutinho to alli but can just see him starting despite all the contrary opinions. A start home to Newcastle in current form would be worth something

coutinho has not started a weekend game since 2nd april. seems unlikely he will start. has started every mid week game since.

    Mignolet
    Gabriel Fuchs Alderweireld Bellerin Sakho
    Mahrez Sanchez Coutinho
    Kane Aguero

    Robles, Lukaku, Payet, Lanzini,

    2FT, 0ITB

Hey folks - which is better?

    A) Gabriel & Coutinho --> Koscielney & Alli (free)

    or

    B) Coutinho -> Firmino (save extra FT)

KDB, Rashford and Bolasie > Alli, Kane, King (-4).

    Kept Lukaku. And Barkley.

kept lukaku as well. dropping -.3 was no fun in case I decide to shop him for studge later on.

Money doesn't matter so much now. You won't want Sturridge for 37/38 if they progress. I think he'd only play once out of 3.

yea that is the only reason I am holding on studge to see how they fare in europe. if I do end up making the trade to studge, then I have to downgrade a defender because of the loss of value with Lukaku. which will cost me -4.

Nope, 3 Arsenal. Would prefer King anyway. GW36/37 fixtures good as well, though currently benching in 36.

    GTG?

    Begovic
    Simpson Gabriel Skrtel
    Alexis Iwobi Coutinho Mahrez
    Sturridge Kane Aguero

    Schwarzer Payet Tomkins Fosu-Mensah

Skrtel might not play but dont want to make any more transfers, I already did: DDG -> Begovic and Lukaku -> Sturridge

    Darlow (Robles)
    Gabriel Simpson Sakho Rose (Fosu-Mensah)
    Mahrez Sanchez Coutinho Alli (Payet)
    Aguero Kane (c) (Martial)

I think Gab starts against Defoe. Sakho is 50-50. Coutinho, I reckon there is only a 20 percent chance he starts. Has not started the last 2 weekend games. Been starting mid week.

^ Exactly this. Now if I get in Defoe, I'm able to bench someone in case a starter doesn't play.

    -4 already taken.

    Risks everywhere: Gabriel, Sakho, Mitrovic.

Take another -4 for Gabriel to Rose?

Gives me another nailed defender until GW 38 that I won't need to worry about.

I think Gabriel will play. Sunderland play on the break/long balls over the top for Defoe and Borini to chase. Gabriel should get the nod over Mert.

Mitrovic v Liverpool reserves could get you a few points even if he doesn't start.

Quite excited for this week looking at a few rivals teams with a load of blanks and plenty of Pool players. Think I'm quite well prepared going forward as well (-4 taken to get Alli and Kane in)

    Darlow
    Bellerin, Sakho, Fuchs
    Sanchez, Townsend, Alli, Firmino
    Aguero, Kane (C), Defoe

    Gabriel on the bench

    DDG, Payet, Delaney in reserve

Should get 10/11 starters from that
