Gameweek 36 culminates with a showdown at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to end Tottenhamโ€™s bid for the title.

The Blues prepared for this one with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Bournemouth last time out and with a double Gameweek 37 just around the corner, tonightโ€™s match affords an early scouting opportunity as we fine-tune out plans ahead of the weekendโ€™s deadline.

Of the two sides, though, itโ€™s Spurs who boast the greatest goal threat ahead of a match they need to win in order to keep their slim chances of clinching the Premier League intact.

Mauricio Pochettinoโ€™s men lead their hosts by 75 shots to 46 over their respective last four โ€“ a tally bettered only by Liverpool (80) โ€“ whilst the visitors have also offered a far superior close-range threat, racking up 43 attempts inside the box to Chelseaโ€™s 31.

In terms of defensive data, Spurs again impress more than the deposed champions, who have managed a single clean sheet in ten Gameweeks โ€“ against Aston Villa. The visitors have afforded the opposition just 25 efforts inside the box โ€“ a tally bettered by just four other defences โ€“ with Chelsea not too far back on 30.

Whilst Foxes fans will be hoping for a title-winning favour from Guus Hiddinkโ€™s side, then, the numbers suggest that the visitors still have reason for optimism as they look to keep the race for the crown alive for at least one more round of fixtures.

I disagree he has made a rod for his own back, should have clamped down early on the bad fouls and dished out a few yellow cards. He is at fault for letting the players get away with it so as a result the match has boiled over

        1. chinmusic
          • 16 Years

He let a couple of early ones slide. Refs can't win in this position. He hands cards out like confetti and players get sent off early, they are accused of ruining the game.

They have looked decent in attack against a good defensive side, but our defense has had better days. Not really sure why Ivan was given a new contract, he is the reason for that second goal. Not to mention a bunch more throughout the season!

Leicester are the best side in the league. That's why they're winning it.

Fabregas from that lot. No idea why Mata is being considered. He's not first choice.
