Kyle Walker (£6.0m) is the headline World Cup Fantasy for England ahead of their first game of Russia’s finals.

The Manchester City wing-back has become one of the most assured of starts in Gareth Southgate’s back-three, as a makeshift centre-back.

His importance to the Three Lions has convinced a tenth of World Cup Fantasy managers to sign him for Gameround 1.

Jesse Lingard (£7.5m) is the next most-popular in 6.9% of squads with expensive forward Harry Kane (£11.0m) in 6.6%.

With selection a possibility in midfield and attack, Dele Alli (£9.0m) and Raheem Sterling (£9.0m) are both before four percent ownership.

The most popular player in Tunisia’s ranks is striker Ahmed Kalil (£4.5m), who is not expected to get much game-time Russia. However, four percent of managers have opted to use him as a budget enabler.

Meanwhile, left-back Ali Maaloul’s (£4.5m) three assists in qualifying and recent friendlies has one percent including him on a punt.

    Controversial post alert.

It’s incredible the difference in mentality.

France beats Australia, arguably better than Tunisia, and French fans not happy with the game (albeit a good result).

England beats Tunisia and the country goes crazy 😀

3 points is 3 points though, I guess.

I guess in a tournament it's more about points than the performance .

That’s true. As a fan of France though, I’m still worried despite the good result.

I think most of the big teams will wake up now. Usually the eventual winners don't start well in the first game apparently. Must be a bit of match rust.

I think France played poorly for sure but he expectation was that England would stroll against Tunisia. Wouldn’t say that France and England had different expectations in their respective games

Lower expectations about performance. France played further below expectations than England I think, and by some way.

England were in the second pot for seedings. Tunisia in the third.

France were in the first pot and Australia in the fourth.

France and England both underperformed which leaves them both with scope to improve and with 3 points each their squads will be buzzing. Regardless of oppositions compare them to Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Germany.

Biggest difference between Belgium and England is that Belgium have dribblers who can open up the game. Gets free kicks and penalties as well as occassionally providing that super goal out of nothing. The best teams have that player (Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi, Hazard, Griezmann, Salah, Suarez etc.). We are missing that magical twinkle toes player.

Remains to be seen in a tight game how much heart Belgium have.Loads of footballing qualities but how many of them will stick their head in where most wouldn't risk putting their leg in.

England have 2 towering centre backs with another ready to play CM in the tough games, plus an excellent header of the ball up front.

You dont have to dribble through teams to win. Just take corner after corner. Thats why Tunisia were wrestling our players during every set piece, they knew thats where the real dangers is.

Tbf I think they could have got something numerous times from open play other than the tap in. They also didn't seem composed enough to take many chances outside set-pieces. Very strange

I've got 10 of those players and although i was pretty sure i would WC Round 2 i'm going to wait for Round 3 and bench boost same week. Also helps that you have a bit more time in between round 2 finishing and round 3 starting.

Do want Ronaldo though but may well do Jesus to Costa for free.

    Wildcard this team?
    Lukaku - Cavani - Jesus
    J. Rodriguez - Ljajic - Müller
Mendy (already transferred out for Danilo) - Fazio - Marcelo - Meuiner
    Muslera
    (Uzoho - Varela - C. Sanchez - Kvist)

Fazio didn't start, Kvist is out for the rest of the tournament, Rodriguez a doubt apparently(?). Not sure about the strikers, other than Lukaku.
