Interest in Saturday’s lunch-time kick-off was reduced by the absence of Cardiff City’s Lee Peltier (£4.0m).

The right-back was one of a handful of starting defenders in the cheapest bracket during pre-season and Gameweek 1, but was not named in the match-day squad to face Newcastle United. Ecuele Manga (£4.5m) shifted across from centre-back to fill in for him, with Sol Bamba (£4.5m) dropping back to allow Harry Arter (£5.0m) to make his debut.

The most popular Cardiff asset, 4.1 percent of Fantasy Premier League managers had Peltier in their own squads and a large portion of that started him for Gameweek 2.

Bobby Reid (£5.5m) also dropped out of the starting line-up, after leading the line at Bournemouth in Gameweek 1. Kenneth Zohore (£5.0m) comes in to take his place.

The focus on visitors Newcastle will be around Jamaal Lascalles (£5.0m) whose 7.9 percent ownershipn makes him the most fashionable asset in the match.

A small number of eyes will also be on Matt Ritchie (£6.0m), who registered an assist at home against Spurs in Gameweek 1 and the promising Kenedy (£5.0m) who sits in 2.5 percent of squads.

Meanwhile Joselu (£5.0m), signed by 79,000+ managers since last Saturday, is still chasing his first away league goal for Newcastle after netting last week.

CARDIFF CITY XI (4-2-3-1): Etheridge; Bennett, Morrison, Bamba, Manga; Arter, Ralls; Camarasa, Murphy, Hoilett; Zohore.

NEWCASTLE UNITED XI (4-4-2): Dubravka; Dummett, Lascelles, Clark, Manquillo; Kenedy, Diame, Shelvey, Ritchie; Perez, Joselu.

They only had an average attendance of 18,922 last year in the Championship - that ranked them 14th. It has a capacity of 33,380 which only got full once, was vs Man City in FA Cup.

These two teams making a decent case for reducing the league to 14-16 teams. So many below average footballers on show in this league. Get rid of all the deadwood.

    Not FPL but fantasy related.

In AFL Fantasy (that's Aussie Rules) the guy who came first last year is currently first again with just one round left. That's out of about 150,000 players each year and people take it very seriously all over the country. Pretty amazing achievement.

    Why Aguero won't start.

    A) The Guardian is a reputable source, not The Daily Sport.

    B) With KBD out, Pep will be looking for a new formation.

    C) Without KDBs workrate, he can't afford the luxury of a lazy Aguero and will need Jesus in to run around and press in Kev's absence.

      A) Fair comment
      B) Why can't Bernardo or D.Silva replace KDB in the same formation?
