Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the very first episode of Meet the Manager, where we interview Fantasy managers with a superb track record over their career.

Over the season we’ll find out from them what it takes to get a top finish in the game, explore their key strategies for success and also gain some valuable tips on tackling the current campaign.

To kick off the series I was joined earlier today by Nick, who is better known within the Fantasy Football Scout community as Triggerlips.

Over his 11-year career, he has finished in the top 1,000 an impressive four times, including 2012/13’s finish of 35th. Indeed across his last nine campaigns, he has only finished outside the top 50,000 twice.

Paying close attention to team structure and balanced distribution of funds is among the nuggets of advice that New Zealand-based Nick serves up.

He also reveals the importance of accumulating wealth early on and making sure the vast array of Fantasy advice on social media is treated with caution.

And while he is taking a patient approach with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season he is “not liking the look of (Mohamed) Salah one little bit”.

The chat with Nick is available to view on YouTube here and in the embedded video below:

Surely not against Southampton. I am planning to captain Salah. I have all three so I don't have to make that choice though.

Are you watching the games? What's your judgment of Salah v Hazard this weekend and longer term?

Personally, I don't think there's any harm in losing Salah now. People seem to make this a much bigger thing than it needs to be, imo. It's not a divorce, you can bring him back in later.

If Salah was 11m and it was a choice between Salah and Hazard, then it would be Hazard every day at the minute. He's simply in much better form right now.

Some people are keeping Salah and adding Hazard. It should be possible with a bit of careful squad management.

Liverpool haven't truly clicked yet. Mané and Salah don't appear to be supporting each other so readily, so will Southampton concede 2 or 3? 2 probably, but I'm not sure it'll be more.

West Ham will be buoyed by beating Everton. Potentially, that could make Chelsea's job even easier if West Ham think they've turned a corner. They were still pretty bad against Everton.

I'd keep Hazard over anyone in my squad right now, and I like Mané against his former club dynamic. It might work out, it might not. Salah will explode at some point 🙂

i'm afraid that the exploding point will be the next match against southampton 🙂

Which would you fear more? Your rival with Salah(c) or Hazard(c).

but next week chelsea might struggle
as it is a derby match
chelsea never got it easy against westham away

        4.5 GK bench.
        4.0 Def bench.
        5.0 or 5.1 Def bench.
        5.7 or 6.3 Mid/Fwd bench.

I'm confused how not enough on the pitch?

Your goal is to put as much money on the pitch every week. Assuming you make solid picks for your team that's how you score most points over the season.

          1) If you opt for Ederson he is set and forget, get a 4.0 and it saves you 500k
          2) Your 4th def could be 4.1 Bennett or 4.4 Doherty = saves a lot
          3) Doesn't make sense benching 6 mil fwd every week

With funds saved you can upgrade Wilson to Mitro, Moura to Dilva if you like. Or something else.

Really good foundations but your bench is way too strong. Downgrade Pereira, Hennessey and striker/midfielder

      1. Zenith UK

        7 years, 11 months ago

I don't play a weak bench.I had Bennett instead of Pereira but feel he will be a good choice to be honest. Always running a good strong 3rd striker and Fraser is hardly an expensive mid.

  5. Dr. Ante Pavlovic

How to get Maddison in here for Neves? Have 0.3 itb. King and Mitro have nice fixtures, Tripp is nailed and has nice fixtures. Alonso and Mendy are essential, but I'll wait for Mendy news.

Was also thinking about switching Kepa to Ederson for free coz Kepa has Whu and Liverpool while Edeson has Cardiff and Brighton in next two games.

    What do you suggest?

    Kepa, Stekelenburg
    TAA, Alonso, Mendy, Trippier, WB
    Salah, Hazard, Fraser, Neves, Masuaku
    Mitrovic, Aguero, King

    1. MTPockets

I'm being genuine. You seem to be two steps ahead of me. My squad is:

        Patricio (Hamer)
Mendy - Pereira - Alonso (TAA, AWB)
        Hazard - Mané - Maddison - Silva - Pedro
        Aguero - Mitrovic (Ings)

Debating whether to start AWB ahead of Pedro.

Budget wise, he's an amazing option, but compared with Maddison, Richarlison, I'd prefer those two. If Fraser played more centrally then I think his points would be more sustainable.

Beauty of the WC I guess, gives you chance to predict some points rather than chasing.

Yeah tricky one, if Pedro plays 90 mins tomorrow i doubt he'll play the full 90 at the weekend.. Beware Willian?

D for me, unless an injury stops him. Pep has made a point of them not stopping despite being up, and was reportedly upset after the 3-0 v fulham and made them practice on their day off. And after tonights loss he'll be extra eager to get some confidence back, and they really have no reason to rest players. Their schedule is nothing like Liverpool's (for instance).

Ooo first ive seen on here :). Tbh was worst ive seen us attacking wise for a while. Johnson looked fast and had a mix of deliveries. Seemed to lose confidence once fans started getting on players backs and impatient. Washington got little service and never bounced for him. Clarke is awful. Hendo saved us from a 2 or 3-0 defeat. Hes unreal

Seems strange considering how good they were against Villa!

Fans do get impatient rather quickly at the Lane I always find, doesn't help anyone.

Yeah even last year when he was scoring, Clarke wasn't really good enough. Shame we didn't manage to get Hogan in, think he'd have fit right in.

Yh... atmosphere was dead from KO but Norwood, Egan and Hendo were great pieces of business.

Woodburn looked uninterested tonight, mcgoldrick worked hard when he came on.

Think we'll see a few more changes for Sat and batter Preston hopefully :).

Agreed...60-70 mins...We need to remember how well Dilva was doing in FPL before his problems last year. He'll do the same again this year.

Ryan on paper, but has 3 away games in 4 so bit dodgy. Newcastle have good long fixture run if Dubravka works.

Yes. He's told his manager that..hence he's being rested.

Maurizio Sarri on Eden Hazard: "He told me after the national team and the match against Cardiff he was a little bit tired, so I thought it was better to stay at Cobham, to have training and rest."

Why does that mean he's tired? Although he played a lot of football in the WC.

He's so important to them that Sarri wants to keep him in cotton wool for PL games. Chelsea should have more than enough for this stage of the EL.

My team is a mess....is wildcarding the way forward or will I regret following a Mane haul this weekend?

    Pickford | Stek
    Alonso | Mendy | Robertson | WB | Peltier
    Salah | Mane | Walcott | B.Silva | Stephens
    Aguero | Arnautovic | Ings

      Could WC to....

      Ederson* | Stek
      Alonso | Mendy | Robertson | WB | Bennett*
      Salah | Hazard* | Richarlison* | Fraser* | Stephens
      Aguero | Mitrovic* | Ings

I could take Pickford out but then I am left with....
        - Mendy, B.Silva and Arnie who might not play
        - Peltier and Ings who won’t play

        1. MTPockets
          7 years, 11 months ago

If Mendy doesn't play you have AWB. Arnie's apparently doing ok. Can't see Bernardo being benched.
But if you want to wc go for it.

Could just use one FT to...

      Pickford | Stek
      Alonso | Mendy | Robertson | WB | Peltier
      Salah | Mane | Walcott | B.Silva | Stephens
      Aguero | Mitrovic* | Ings

    De Gea
    Mendy* Robbo WanB Alonso
    Haz Fraser Walcot Mane
    Zaha Aguero

    Subs: Hamer, Tomkins, Hughes, Kamara

    A) Save transfer
    B) Save but play Tomkins instead of Walcot
    C) Walcot to Richa
    D) Walcot to Maddison

    1. Tsparkes10

I'm on a) at moment - just AWB against NEW (h) looks tasty. 6 BPS from 334 minutes (4 games). Also potential for clean sheet, assist and maybe sooner or later a goal.

Bench: Jimenez/AWB, Kabasele and Odoi as a weak bench? Have 0.7 ITB.
    A) Save
    B) Kaba to Shaw
    C) Odoi to 5m mid

    1. thunder_mike

For free, probably would get rid of Odoi as he isn’t even playing.

    Advice would be appreciated.

    Patricio
    Mendy Robertson Alonso
    Salah(C) Bilva Walcott Fraser
    Zaha Mitro Kun
    Fab WanB Boly Stephens

    A) Walcott > Richarlison (-4)
    B) Bilva > Dilva (-4)
    C) Wildcard, would bring in Hazard.

Is nobody concerned that only 4 of Kun’s 37 points have come away? He’s blanked in both away games. Not sure he’s good captain material away from home.
