Ross Barkley‘s (£5.8m) 17-point haul against Burnley has already made him the top transfer target ahead of Gameweek 11.

At the time of writing, he has been signed by 173,000+ managers as Chelsea prepare to host Crystal Palace.

But is Barkley worth bringing into our teams or is recruiting him for our squads simply a kneejerk reaction to a double-figure haul?

That’s the question we hope to answer with this latest Members’ Article.

Price changes don't depend on the clocks going back or forward - they happen at the same point every day, which happens to be 1:10ish GMT and 2:10ish BST.

yeah they do. twas @ midday, then the clocks went back in sydney, so went to 1pm, then the clocks changed in england and it went to 2pm.

I mean the same point of the earth's rotation, so to speak, haha! Like, in the countries that have no time changes, it's at the same time every day. e.g. in Thailand it's always at 8:10am.

Pretty strange thing to make out of thin air. The evidence above could be seen as slightly ropey but there’s not any more to give really. No use letting people get away with it until what you deem as concrete evidence emerges

There are plenty of appropriate channels now with the #MeToo movement to expose this kind of behavior. If it is serious enough it deserves to be called out and the truth will emerge. This asking people to send links around just smacks of desperation and seeing how far an allegation can spread.

Going for Salah and Mane over any City attackers for a few weeks.
Will this call and the lack of a big hitter up front really hurt or can this work. A hit before price changes got me to this.

    Ederson

    Alsonso Mendy Robertson Chilwell

    Salah Mane Hazard Fraser

    Mitro Wilson

Was really torn between who to transfer out of richarlison or Maddison thinking of going Maddison as he has returned no points since the time I got him in...can bring him in again if he shows consistency.

Also I feel richarlison is more of an explosive in a more advanced playing position that Maddison.

Success is a 0.2m loss in SV waiting to happen and probably a waste of 2 FT's IMO. Deeney is expected back this week and Success could be on the bench again soon.

I kind of agree, but at the same time Gracia has shown that he's willing to stick with a winning team - Holebas and Kabasele didn't walk back into the starting XI for example after their suspensions. Plus, he clearly really likes Success.

I think Deeney will get his spot back, but it might be after the next loss or underwhelming performance.

    3. That Was Easy!
      • 11 Years

I think he will continue to get 20/30 minutes if he loses his spot, but your concerns aren’t misplaced. If you want to play a 3-5-2 it doesn’t matter much to let Success ride the bench.

I think you are smart in going with a relatively strong bench. Jimenez minutes a worry, however. Perhaps look to a similarly priced 5th mid and then go Success, who may lose his spot, but will still feature plenty.

A few I like: Deu, Snoddy, Mooy, Patterson, Barkley

Thoughts here, guys? Had quite a nice week, but am a bit stuck with 0.0itb and 1FT

    Ederson
    Alonso Mendy Duffy
    Salah Haz Rich Fraser Kante
    Aguero Mitro

Not Kenedy ever. If you lose Kante it should be to Murphy at that price but I think my move is solid Frees a little funds and if nothing else a truly great bench option for a while through IB

Mitro to Arnie keeping 2FT. Certainly the idea of Fraser coming in for Holebas isn't overly concerning - Man Utd are hardly the defensive force of Jose past with 1 EPL clean sheet in 10 and arguably only got that as Burnley weren't squadded to deal with Europa.

To be honest I'll probably let the market make my decision there.

Currently I'm giving Mitro one last punt vs Hudds but a drop would cost me so if he looks like he's going to drop I may swap this week instead assuming Arnie has recovered OK.

Currently a Salah owner but I think Mane will outscore him this season. Much more sharp and is scoring from all positions, particularly on home games.

Go Mane then, spend the change.

As a Salahless season manager, it's working out nicely but if they were both the same price Salah is still the better pick going forward based on stats and eye test imo. Still long may Mane keep pace 🙂

Thanks. I don’t see Salah’s stats as being better than Mane anymore.

I think Salah will outscored Mane but not by enough to justify the extra money so swapping is probably valid. I currently have both but that does mean I have to watch Man City games from behind the sofa!

      2,3,1,3,0 (no show)

Mane form before playing Cardiff. Things so short term on here!

Short term? You can pick the stats you want to pick. 2, 2, 8, 2, 3, 8 for salah for those games. All things being equal, there is a 2 pt difference between their scores now. Not enough to justify 3M diff in price.

To each his own, but I don’t think salah will ourscore Mane by a lot.

    How's your bench looking?
See a lot of talk on here about the need for a strong bench going forward. But this doesn't mean that you need to invest too much money imo, smart budget picks will suffice...won't they?
I'm content with my current bench despite minimal investment: Hamer, Camarasa, AWB, Bennett.
Thoughts on bench strength/quality/investment going forward?

In general I tend to not worry too much about the bench from season start to December with some generally playing but permabench fodder.

Over Xmas I tend to beef up the bench more to accommodate likely rotation over the festive period.

Fair enough, but I'm unsure about that beefing up theory. As long as you have pretty nailed on assets on your bench that can come on and do a job is surely enough?

Recently by becnh were all sure starters, Henessey, H.Costa, Bennett and AwB.
      Now its Success over H.Costa.
GW 10's big lesson, if anything, was that you meed players who are ready to come on, who hav eto reasonable chances of getting mins.

We are very lucky this year to have two 4.0s, in AWB & Bennett, starting defenders! Despite their upcoming tough fixtures, they're perfect for those sticking with three atb.

Impossible to turn down two 4.0 starting defenders, really!

Prefer to keep bench cost as low as possible since my TV is always low! 😮

With 2 4m defenders available and both looking decent as of now, I think it easier to get a better bench. My WC bench will probably look like: 4m, Bennett, Wan Bissaka, Hojberg

I feel that bench is decent enough to cover if required and its probably the cheapest active bench we can get.

Agree, it's also a reason why I'm a little bit hesitant to move away from three starting forwards.

      Arnie yes.

To be honest as an Alonso owner I'm not really feeling confident he's money well spent nowadays (last week's points happily received of course).

Second highest scoring player in the game this season and cost 7.0 mil some mixed but also nice fixtures ahead and you are not confident he is good value. Really?

I'm honestly in 2 minds over him when looking at some of the other options out there. He looked great early on but his attacking output has dropped - 44 of his points came in the first 4 weeks.

Yes he scored well this week but only had 1 touch in the box, 1 shot, 0 crosses. He did create 3 chances of which 1 was big just I'm genuinely not sure he's worth the extra over the likes of Mendy/Robertson and certainly not over the likes of Doherty.

As I say I'm definitely in 2 minds though and all I've decided for now is to give him another game vs CPL and then decide.

Loving that Salah price rise, but just a little confused.
I bought Salah from the start, at his 13.0m price. Went with him to his price drop at 12.8m.
To reach back to selling price 13m, shouldnt his valuerise to 13.2? I had thoight +0.2 value rise equals a +0.1 selling price rise. But now I see Salah is already back to his original selling price in my team? Not complaining, but just cant wrap my head around the nuances of the price changes jist yet!

Different case when the value has gone below Purchase Price, you get back 0.1 with every rise.

The 0.2 rise for 0.1 selling value is only for profit. So only when his price is above his original is it applicable.

*purchase price not original is more accurate as Holmes states above.

Honestly unsure of the price metrics nowadays but certainly as it used to work ......
          * To drop is 10% of ownership so highly owned players take a lot more transfers to drop.
          * To rise is a set amount irrespective of ownership except ....
If a player has dropped below their original price then the amount to rise is either the set threshold or the number of transfers it took them to drop - whichever is lower.
i.e. a low owned player below their starting price will go back up with lower transfers however a highly owned player the standard rise threshold is still less than the previous amount to drop.

          e.g.
          * Player A has 1000 owners - the standard rise threshold is 30k transfers. They are sold by 100 people and drop 0.1m. To go back up they only need 100 people to buy them.
          * Player B has 1m owners and is sold by 100k so drops. To go back up then he needs the standard 30k.

So for players with high ownership like Salah it takes a lot less to regain the value than it did to lose it assuming things still work as they used to.

    Pat/Ryan
    Mendy/Robbo/Alonso/awb/Doherty
    Hazard/Sterling/Maddison/Richy/Hughes
    Kun/Wilson/Jimenez

What’s the best way to get in a Liverpool attacker with 1.2itb and 2FT?
Kun and Maddison to Firmino and Mane?

I'd personally be tempted by Sterls>Mane and rolling over the FT and extra cash. Would mean the FPL world is your oyster next GW.

Don't get Firmino. He plays deep. Just do Sterling to Mane/Salah next week. And why would you take Kun out. He is top of captain poll for next week playing Southampton at home while Liverpool play Arsenal away. This week I think you can just get even more money in the bank by doing Hughes to Camarasa.
