As we approach Gameweek 11 of Fantasy Premier League we have got to work on updating our Watchlist.

It’s goalkeepers up first, with teams such as Brighton and West Ham began to get more attention for their budget options

Alisson (£5.6m) retains the top spot for another week even as Liverpool prepare for a trip to face Arsenal. After that, they still have home matches against Fulham and Everton as well as a trip to Burnley in Gameweek 15.

Ederson (£5.7m) has crept back above Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5.5m) but both goalkeepers are on the brink of reclaiming Favourable Fixture tags. Manchester City have some appealing home fixtures but they still face Manchester United and Chelsea in the next six Gameweeks. Maurizio Sarri’s men have excellent home matches before the defending champions come to Stamford Bridge in Gameweek 16, but they have to visit Spurs in Gameweek 13.

Mat Ryan (£4.5m) has risen to become the best of the rest after a third successive clean sheet recorded in Gameweek 10. The Brighton shot-stopper keeps his Favourable Fixtures tag on account of the fact that the Seagulls still sit top of the Season Ticker defence section for the next six Gameweeks.

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m) is up next with West Ham’s fixtures particularly appealing over the next six Gameweeks. Burnley and Huddersfield are the Hammers’ next two opponents and home matches against Cardiff and Crystal Palace are also on the horizon.

Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) comes in at sixth place although there is understandably some uncertainty over what future Gameweeks will hold for him. There had been suggestions that Leicester’s trip to Cardiff City this weekend would be postponed although it weas confirmed to be going ahead as planned on Tuesday.

Rui Patricio (£4.6m) has dropped several places following back-to-back clean sheet wipe-outs against favourable opponents. The next two matches look particularly tricky for Wolves with Spurs coming to Molineux in Gameweek 11 and a trip to Arsenal in Gameweek 12. However, it’s Huddersfield and Cardiff after that.

Martin Dubravka (£5.0m) remains at the lower end of the scale although he did register a first clean sheet since Gameweek 6 last time out. The Magpies could prove a source of defensive points as their run is, on paper, quite favourable.

Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) and Ben Foster (£4.5m) bring up the rear with their fixtures a little mixed. The Everton man could be used in a rotation as the Toffees have favourable opponents coming to Goodison Park between now and Gameweek 16 while their away trips are rather difficult. Foster has Unfavourable Fixtures attached to him as Watford must host Liverpool and Manchester City between now and Gameweek 15.

    Hart
    Laporte Alonso Tripper
    Salah Seri Hazard Barkley Maddison
    Wilson Aguero

    Bench: Robertson, Wan Bissaka, fodder

Question: Am I right to bench Robertson over either Seri or Wilson? I know Seri and Fulham are poor (he's my fifth mid) but he's also against Huddersfield...

would love to hear your thoughts...

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Alonso TAA Duffy (Wan Bennet)
    Hazard Salah Pereyra Fraser Maddison
    Kun Mitro (Jimenez)

    A. TAA & Fraser out for Balbuena & Siggy (-4).
    B. maddison & mitro for Arnie & Richa (-4).
    C. Mitro out Arnie in.

    cheers!

      Not sure I'd do A.

Don't think B is worth a -4, but both look like good moves.

C looks sensible, but both have decent fixtures this week

Looking to do Mitro, Bennett > Success, Mendy -4. Should I:

    A) Do it this GW

    B) Do it next GW, allowing me to hold Mitro for hud but will cost me an extra 0.3. Will do Hennessey > Fab instead this GW

Depends on how well you can afford the 0.3. I've got Success in as fodder. Although he has only started last 2 has been involved in pretty much every game and looks to be Watford's future. Could be golden if he nails his spot.

If you have the big four in defense (TRAM) and have to pick one of these, who would you get?

    A. Laporte + Murphy ( 5-3-2 with Murphy mostly benched).

    B. Doherty + Fraser ( Both rotated depending on fixtures).

Torn between which of these is best:

    A) Mendy + Hughes
    B) Laporte + Deulofeu

I know it's old news, but I can't ignore Mendy's performance on Monday. He looked terrible, coupled with the fact that surely Pep will have a few words for him about his swing at Lamela.

    Thoughts?

    WC draft

I plan to WC around 15-16, and am tempted to go balls out, which involves no Liverpool attack

They sit bottom of the ticker for this period (6 games) and while I think that’s a bit misleading, in the games where I might have considered (C)ing I have ample cover.

    Still, no Salah or Mane.

    Is this too crazy?

I don't think you can make too many decisions like that this far in advance. They certainly aren't bottom of the ticker from 16 but I'm sure that you'll be able to make a better and informed judgment by then.

    3. MTPockets
      7 years, 8 months ago

They're not bottom of the ticker esp for attackers, and I wouldn't, but guess it could work.

        6 games from GW16 they’re bottom. (I tend to plan over 6gw’s)

But it’s misleading cos it’s Liverpool and they could always score. (In salah’s case, score the winning goal and get no BAPs)

I'm WCing that time too, and admire your bravery!

Imagine the differentials and rank jump if you ditched Salah, Mane and Kun as premium assets for Kane Auba and Ozil.

Spurs & Arsenal have great fixtures - and if Liverpool do go defensive over a difficult run of fixtures, it could be great!

Season over if it fails though...

I assume they will both score similarly so just captain the one with the highest EO (if I can predict that).

Other decisions, like potentially swapping Mitro -> Murray next week, are based on fixtures and who has scored better recently, so those decisions are a bit easier to make.

Hazard is the real worry for me this gameweek. 2 goals and you're looking at 15 points, which is very possible I think and hard for Aguero or Arnie to match.

Aguero gets subbed early and City score so many that BPS and points are shared quite often. With Arnie I am a little worried it's more than just the flu, but could be a great differential pick if he starts as he is also central to West Ham's attacking output.

I'm on Aguero FWIW, but feel like Hazard could do the damage this week. He's unstoppable at home and hogs those Baps.

Or keep Jimenez and get rid of Mitro instead?

Can anyone explain the expected goals deltas?

What do the + and - figures mean next to the xg number??

Compare xG to actual G and it should be obvious.

        Thanks for the reply

        Was being an idiot!

The +/- is how they’ve done in relation to their xg

So a plus means they beat their xg and a minus they didn’t meet it

        Simple

You only have to look back a couple of years to people who triple captain Negredo or Andy Carroll to realise that's not true 😀

But even if we all did TC the same player - I'm fine with that as long as it's the one with the higher points potential. Aguero/Hazard/Salah in 2 matches is far more exciting than any of them in 1.

            1. SADIO SANÉ
              • 11 Years
              7 years, 8 months ago

😀 yeah true, think I captained Negredo, but not TC 😀

meh, if it's also a player that most people are also normal-captaining anyway (let's say Aguero) then you are only getting one more set of points as them too - which is probably 20 at best. That being said, putting it on a differential in a DGW (when there is a standout captain/tc) is the best and most exciting way of playing it.

What you have to remember is that a lot of players (not necessarily on here) above you in the rankings will have already played (and likely failed with) their TC chip in a SGW. So it's still an advantage, even if it looks like the 'obvious' candidate.

I do agree that in the grand scheme of things the chip doesn't get you that many points - the bench boost and free hit are the more lucrative ones.

Last year there was so much uncertainty surrounding form and rotation leading up to the DGW that I remember thinking that if I had an in form player who I knew was going to play against a very weak side I would prefer to use the TC then and not wait for a unknown. Using it outside a DGW would also free up the use of FH or WC on or the DGW itself rather than before allowing a little more flexibility and less conformity to whatever else will be doing.

I'll be saving it though, cause I'm boring.

The lure of Salah, Haz, Kane, or Kun in a DGW is just too strong - my TC has never really pulled in a massive, bonkers haul (like a player going 17-17 for 112 points) - but it's only been available for the last three seasons, i think there's a DGW monster Triple Captain coming up this year. If not this year, then maybe next lol

I mean, back to back hat-tricks are even more unlikely than single hat-tricks, but of course the beauty of the DGW is that we can easily get 20+ point hauls without the TC doing anything particularly improbable. (e.g. Hazard going for 2 goals and 1 assist over 2 matches can easily be a 23-24 point haul)

I can see the temptation and it worked out for captainers of Aguero in GW 2 and Hazard in GW 5.

But the odds of one of these mega hauls are quite slim and you have to be really lucky to get it right.

Therefore I will 100% keep the TC chip for a DGW, where you basically double the odds of coming out on top.

  22. Pablo Escoballs

Last 3 seasons Ive used on DGW and yet to have a success. I know the chances are doubled but Fulham possibly have the worst defence ever to get in the prem
