It looks like Fantasy Premier League managers will have the opportunity to use a differential captain for green arrows in Double Gameweek 35.

Just as was the case in the previous two Gameweeks, there is no one standout candidate for this round of fixtures, which significantly reduces the risk of going against the grain.

In fact, such is the nature of the schedule over the next few days that even a handful of single Gameweek options can make a strong case for the armband.

As usual, we’re here to analyse each player to help you find the best captain…

As this article uses Opta data, the main bulk is only accessible to Fantasy Football Scout members.

Captain Poll

Once again, there is no clear and obvious favourite in the Fantasy Football Scout captain poll. Currently in the lead is Wolves striker Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) but he has just 26.35% of the vote at the time of writing. He is certainly not a bad choice with five goal involvements in as many Premier League outings. Double Gameweek 35 has probably been the kindest on Wolves, who have two favourable fixtures coming up. At first, they host Brighton, who seem to have sleepwalked into the thick of the relegation battle, before Arsenal come to Molineux. The Gunners have just one clean sheet on the road this season, while Wolves, and Jiménez in particular, tend to do better against the bigger clubs.

Soaring into second place after an impressive display in the Champions League midweek is Raheem Sterling (£11.5m). He has five goals in his last four league matches and also has two fixtures in Double Gameweek 35. They pit Manchester City against Spurs (home) and Manchester United (away).

Such is the support for the defending champions despite difficult fixtures, that Sergio Aguero (£11.7m) is currently third in the captain poll. His one goal since Gameweek 28 is not of huge concern to the voters as he has 14.87% backing at the time of writing.

Son Heung-min (£8.8m) heads up a very tightly-packed contest to be the best of the rest for Double Gameweek 35. His support of 5.95% is only just a little more than Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) on 5.84%. While the Spurs man has two fixtures, against Manchester City (away) and Brighton (home), this is where we see how many managers are concentrating on single Gameweek players.

Salah and his Liverpool colleagues travel to Cardiff, who have conceded at least two goals in every match played against top-six sides this season. The Bluebirds shipped four when they went to Anfield in Gameweek 10, with Salah producing a goal and two assists. Furthermore, the Egyptian looks like he could be back to his best after his spectacular strike against Chelsea on Sunday ensured he had goals in back-to-back league games since Gameweek 23. Sadio Mané (£10.1m) is also in the top 10 with 3.55% support.

Arsenal’s Double Gameweek fixtures aren’t too bad as they face Crystal Palace (home) and Wolves (away). However, uncertainty over Unai Emery’s team selection is probably why none of their options backed by more than 4.41% in the captain poll. That honour falls to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m), who has a backed by just a few more than colleague Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) on 2.77%.

Kevin de Bruyne (£9.7m), Eden Hazard (£11.0m), Andre Gray (£5.9m), Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m), Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) and Lucas Moura (£6.8m) are the only other options on 1% or more.

        Thanks
Just hate taking hits - not convinced Jimmi will outscore Gray + 4 point head start.
Main reason for Jimmi is insurance policy as my rivals have him and concerned about pot. haul (unlikely IMO)

I’d say Jiménez is most likely going to out score gray who may not perform get subbed early or not feature in both fixtures - it’s a punt basically

Jimmynez -12 if you have to 🙂

Gray is an extraordinary punt comparatively- of course he could return well but there's limited evidence to suggest he can keep up with Jimmy from now til seasons end IMO

Thanks people - going to get Jimmi in - at least I know he’ll start both games and it’s a sound insurance policy to protect my 1, 1, and 2 positions in my work leagues.

Morning all. Another abysmal GW34 wildcard here, 35 points. BB tomorrow of course...

The slightly knee-jerky and impossible question I’m asking myself is: how do I get Sterling/KdB, Mane/Salah, Pogba/Rashford and Wilson/Fraser in this team?

    Ederson, Ryan
    Trent, Cathcart, Duffy, Valery, Bennett
    Hazard, Eriksen, Son, Jota, Deulofeu
    Aguero, Vardy, Jimenez

Looking to sell Eriksen. Hazard (BUR) could be a nice differential of sorts?

So much disdain for gray on these pages but if deulo doesn't make the team then even if he only gets one match it would be Huddersfield. Is he really that bad? If you can't afford Wilson, don't have a spurs slot free and don't need him for the rest of the season then I don't see where you could do better. Surely not ings or long.

I really want to go Gray, just slightly scared he doesnt play both. Will look to turn him into Rashford come the end of the season anyways

Rash will be a nice option later.

I'm happy if he just plays Huddersfield to be honest. That's the risk I'd be hoping on

It is risky. Del was reportedly fit last time though.

I think that is smart if you can spy an upgrade you fancy. I'm pretty set on my 11 going forward. I would spend the money now though and upgrade Brighton defenders

    4. tucaoneo

The bottom line: he's a meh player too expensive as the 8th attacker. You gotta have a plan to ship him out. So he needs to cover that -8 (in and out) in GW 35, with some extra. For me that's a big ask.

      1. VanDijksToWatchOutFor
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 7 months ago

I don't think there is anything I would do with the money to be honest so he can just sit there for the rest of the season. Under those circumstances I only need him to cover a 6. Possible?

          In that case, see the question as;

Do you want to get as close to number 1 as possible (no Aguero)

Do you want to aim for a top 1000k still (get Aguero)

p.s I do think Selling Tielemans is the right choice, for Mane if you have the extra 0.4? Set you up with double pool attack for the next few weeks

That is what I really want but don't think I can find it without a hit somewhere else. Laca > Firmino is the easy move I can make.

            I can do Vardy/Laca/Tielmans > Kun/Llorentr/Mane over the next 2 weeks for -4.

              I'd say do this.

This week only make a move which is mirrored on the above.

              Eg Vardy/Tiel to Llorent/Mane

You go one week without aguero (scary) then you have him in for the run in and have liverpool assets

    my current mid is

    KdB Sterling Eriksen Son JWP

but i'm planning to get Mane/Salah, original plan was sterling to salah for GW 36, but considering his form, i'm thinking if i'd rather do eriksen to Mane in GW 36, then i could do Deeney to Wilson this week.

      Did the same. Makes sense.

Get Wilson in now, Mane in for Eriksen the following week.

Can't fit all in. Salah might get me a few more points than Mane, but 3.1 ITB has helped me upgrade the rest of the team. Team balance is also important.

      Same here

Same kind of groupthink that led to Duffy(c) last week.

Think I'll be going for Sterling, Aguero or Son personally.

What was wrong with Duffy captain? They had conceded 16 at home all season (averaging 1 a game) and he was averaging an attacking return every 4-5 games. At home to BOU and CAR, two of the worst away teams in the league. What they conceded at home all season they conceded almost half of that in GW34. Are people saying we should have anticipated that before it happened?

I dont see any value in selling eriksen. Especially for a rotation risk like KDB

D but would prefer for the move to be to Long

    Unai Emery

W - 32 (most wins in the first 50 games as head coach of Arsenal)
    D - 7
    L - 11
    Goals scored - 97
    Goals conceded - 53

Back in the top four and in the semi finals of the Europa League. He's doing an excellent job in his first year and during the transition period. Exciting times ahead!

What a coach. He's had little to work with, and he's performing wonders. The style of play is good, and tactically more proactive than Arsene ever was. Very flexible formation-wise too.

He's the headmaster type coach needed to clear the mess created by AW (with all due respect).
I've read several articles that training quality & strictness has improved since his arrival. Good for the FC.

It was getting too casual under Arsene during his final years. Needed a strong character set thing right.

    Lloris/Gunn
    Laporte/TAA/Duffy/Dunk/Kiko
    Sterling/Mane/Son/Deulofeu/Jota
    Kun/Vardy/Jimenez

    Vardy to Firmino next week

    Lloris (Foster)
    TAA, Kola, Valery (Duffy, Dunk)
    KDB, Eriksen, Son, Mane (Jota)
    Vardy, Jimi, Deeney *

    1FT, 3.0 ITB, BB planned for 35.

Original plan was Vardy -> Kun, but that doesn't feel right now.

Is it worth taking a -4 on Eriksen to go Eriksen, Deeney -> Llorente, Sterling? 3 Spurs already so getting Llorente only works moving Eriksen.

Then Vardy -> Bobby next week for free?

Don't really fancy a Deeney --> Gray move.
D'ont really like Success, Ings at th double.

I actually think I will go for Mitrovic.
100% nailed. great underlying stats, great fixtures. Of course, nothing to play for but how many time shave we seen relegated team perfom very well during the last GWs ?

    Stupid move or worth considering?
