West Ham players are now on the Fantasy Premier League radar after their 3-1 win over Watford.

The Hammers have also have a favourable streak of fixtures coming up to further interest in their assets.

Norwich come to the London Stadium in Gameweek 4 having conceded eight goals in their first three matches of the season.

After that, West Ham travel to newly-promoted Aston Villa, who have just one clean sheet in 2019/20 thus far, which came against a goal-shy Everton side last Friday.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace are the next two sides to travel to East London (in Gameweeks 6 and 8 respectively), before Manuel Pellegrini’s men travel to Bournemouth and Everton.

However, Fantasy managers will still have to ensure they choose the right West Ham player to capitalise on the form and fixtures.

We have gone over the numbers from their first three matches of 2019/20 to work out who that might be.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the new campaign can access it in full.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 3

My transfer was already made, so ditching Martial would require a hit (and I took one last week). Good to go with this lot?

    Heaton
    TAA, Laporte, Maguire, Coleman
    Salah, Sterling, Martial, Mount
    Pukki, Vardy

    Lundstram, Dendoncker, Greenwood.

I could go for, say, Cantwell now, and then upgrade Greenwood next GW. But then again, another hit would be taken. What do you suggest?

Still early in the season so a hit might be ok but then again if Martial is out Greenwood would start right?

I took a -4 to do this pre the last GW. Lucas/Fraser/Wilson > Kdb/Mount/Pukki. Payed off nicely 🙂

Can someone think of the cheapest defends you can just about get away with for 3 in the back?

    I’ll start:

    Boly Dunk Soyuncu Lundstram Rico

    1. Ze_Austin
      7 years, 1 month ago

      Matip, Soy, Ward, Lund, Rico

    2. SouthCoastSaint
      7 years, 1 month ago

Probably not far off. Most probably nailed bar maybe Rico.

The template will keep changing. Liverpool and city will get some clean sheets soon

    3. sovietrockettes
      7 years, 1 month ago

This would hypothetically allow a front 7 of:

      Salah Sterling KDB Mount Ceballos
      Aguero Pukki

    4. have you seen cyan
      7 years, 1 month ago

maybe 2 of them rotating with 2 5.5 defenders.
Zinchenko, PVA, Emerson, AWB, Coleman, who else?

Those 5.5's are never permanet picks tho so you will ahve to sue transfers and switch them around every few weeks, like PVA could be good for 3/4, Emerson might be early but his time is soon.

If you go for all 4.0s and 4.5s it will be dire

    3. Ze_Austin
      7 years, 1 month ago

I'd do it if Martial's fit. I'd delay it to GW5 if Martial's out for only one GW. I'd keep Rash if Martial's out for a while

Reason being the direct effect Martial has on Rashford's position

      1. oggyninho
        7 years, 1 month ago

Yea that's my reasoning as well. If Martial plays, I don't like how Rash staying wide. But with Matrial possibly out I might hold and wait for more news even if it means loosing 0.2 in value. Mid- & longterm I think Haller + 1.2 mil else is better.

  7. Ze_Austin
    7 years, 1 month ago

What's gonna stop Pukki from matching/beating City players this GW (like GW2)? His FPL price? His opponent's defence? His form? His team's style of play? Something I'm missing?

By the way, it was nice to see Aguero bag a brace away from home. IIRC, it's been a while since that happened. Maybe no longer the strict home boy?

pukki scored 29 in 3850 mins at a much lower level. salah has 59 goals in 6970mins at a much higher level. think about it

Can't decide if it's a better tactic to
A: transfer players in/out in accordance with price changes to protect overall team value (and move with the crowd on here with popular picks)
    or
B: Save FT where you can and give players more time who may have under/over-performed at the risk of missing out on the right transfer at the right time

    That being said...
A: Perez to Mount (despite Perez having a good fixture and Mount being yellow flagged) or
    B: save FT

    Ryan/(Button)
    Robbo/Zinc/Digne/(Lundstram/Rico)
    Sterling/Salah/Martial/Moura/Perez
    Pukki/Jota/(Greenwood)

This is a summary of my argument on the elitist approach of calling logical early-season moves "knee-jerking" here:

      1. Under my Cucurella
        7 years, 1 month ago

Fair play it has really worked for you there! Do you think Perez>Mount is a good move though if Perez has a nice fixture and Mount is yellow flagged? What would you do with the above team

        1. Ze_Austin
          7 years, 1 month ago

Mount has three tough defences coming up, so I'd delay for now or just get Cantwell instead, then move Moura in GW5 with funds for a massive upgrade (KDB?), or Greenwood to Barnes. Depends on how patient you are, but Mount can be delayed if you consider him a 6.5 mid

i used to hit alot until i did a -12 last season and i had the most horrific point swing ever (30+ points), my rank dropped like 1.5mil places in 1 week and I never recovered from it

        1. Ze_Austin
          7 years, 1 month ago

I'm not talking about the number of hits. I'm talking about logical early-season moves

Locadia + Robbo => Zinch + Pukki in GW2, after watching the Liverpool game closely and accepting my Locadia punt fail early enough as well
Montoya + Perez + Wilson => Kelly + Mount + Barnes for GW3 after a combination of the eye test, stats and team styles for all three players involved

None of these moves involved getting a premium or captaincy option. Just squad changes to adjust quickly from the preseason template and a failed punt

GW4: Trossard + Gallagher to Cantwell + Haller. 2.0m ITB to upgrade Martial in GW5

          1. have you seen cyan

Chase price rises and avoid drops. That's the way to go in early GWs. That's how you gain as much as 2-3m for the final GWs.

People here will start mentioning some players, for a good reason (bargain starter, OOP, good xG...), just don't make the mistake of listening to their advice.

Last week I said Kane won't do well against a double defensive wall and that Aguero might be an option.

You can guess what everyone said.

    Would you Wildcard this?

    Pope, Button
    Robertson, Digne, Dunk, Lundstram, Rico
    Salah, Sterling, Martial, McGinn, Dendoncker
    Kane, King, Greenwood

Sometimes it's best to strengthen whilst strong but I don't want much - just Pukki, Haller, a Man City defender and Aubameyang.

It potentially hinges on Martial's injury.

    What do you think?

    1. Ziyech on the Bench

    4. Ze_Austin
      7 years, 1 month ago

I'd prefer hits, and I don't even see many hits going on there. If you're tired of Kane, a total forward change to Haller + Pukki + Barnes is surprisingly affordable for -8, giving you a team that doesn't have to play one of Lund/Rico/Dendoncker every GW, so feels like an upgrade of the 11th man

  19. Ziyech on the Bench
    7 years, 1 month ago

Hi guys which you prefer on WC? 🙂

    A) 3-5-2: Pope, Button

    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Mount, McGinn

    Haller, Pukki / Greenwood

    B) 3-4-3: Pope , Button

Just realised I can get Salah and still keep Kane for the NLD.

    1. Firmino, Mané, Haller (343 Cantwell 5th mid)
    or
    2. Salah, Kane, Cantwell (352 Greenwood 3rd striker)

With only 0.1itb and Martial and Jota in the team, it is looking like I have to hold and deal with price changes for now pending injury news (re. Martial and Mount) and decide at GW deadline. Do you agree or would you do anything here tonight?

    1FT 0.1itb
    Heaton
    VVD, Zinch, Digne, AWB
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Martial*
    Pukki, Jota*
    (Button) (Lunds, Dendo, Greenwood)

    Thanks

Looks fine. If Martial is out, it might be worth starting Greenwood.

      1. Don Kloppeone
        7 years, 1 month ago

Cheers. Greenwood brings very little but I guess if Martial conclusively our but not long term it could work out well enough as a covering position to avoid any hits

        *conclusively out

I'm already 30+ points behind the leader of my mini league.

Concerned that my decision to start the season with Kane, double Liverpool defence and without Sterling continues to leave me in a weakened position.

    Heaton, Pope
    Robertson, VvD, Zinchenko, Walker-Peters, Montoya
    Salah, KdB, Martial, Dendoncker, Robinson
    Kane, Pukki, Greenwood

Would either of the following help?

    a)Kane & Martial > Barnes & Sterling (-4)
    b) Kane Dendoncker & Robertson > Barnes, Sterling & Lundstram (-8)

    Thanks

You want your defenders to show consistency especially ones that cost 80 million

        lol probably not

painful how good him and Mahrez could be as FPL options if they were nailed
